  1. Nice job. Consistency is key.
  2. I think it was @Errestaurants that said weight loss is 75% nutrition and 25% exercise. I’d argue that it’s more like 90/10 even. Body composition will change with the 10% over time. The key is consistency. The key to weight loss, and keeping it off, is consistency in your nutrition. For people not running gear (test, tren), bulking is an absolutely horrible idea. The human body isn’t meant to gain 25-30 pounds in 3 months time. You will reach a physiological limit on how much strength you can gain. And those extra calories become love handles and you’ll get fat. Then you’ll “cut” before you peak your strength goals and lose even more strength. The best thing I can imagine to do would be some type of “lean bulk” where you’re increasing your calories to 10% more than your TDEE. Very very slow weight gain that would allow you to progress in the gym and further your body composition goals. Throw all that out the window if you’re running gear though. Your waist will shrink, muscle will build, and you will become Hulk. Eat a shit ton of protein and clean carbs and you’ll be Zeus. Update: Squat has gone to 215x5 and bench is 175x5. Slowly getting back in to form. @South Austin I got back in to the gym about 1.5 months ago after recovering from rona. My thought is that most of the people up there aren’t wearing masks have had it anyway. If you’re vaccinated, wear a mask and go about your business. It’s more of a mind game honestly. I had a mental block where I was a bit uncomfortable but it goes away with time. I’m going 6 days a week at this point and don’t plan on stopping.
  3. My company owns and operates vessels in the GoM. 240-300ft PSVs. They're all diesel-electric with Kongsberg/Rolls Royce DP systems which is pretty standard for ships that size. No idea about any of the container ships though.
  4. Eh. I was simply pointing out the fact that there’s availability for the general population at this point. You, on the other hand, jump to conclusions about me being an asshole for making this statement. Not surprising in the least, considering your post history. Carry on.
  5. I’m 32 and don’t have any comorbidities and I’ve gotten my first one. Didn’t cut the line. Signed up for UTMB’s waitlist.
  6. That's one bad dude right there.
  7. I got a text from Houston Health Department yesterday evening asking me to schedule my first dose. Either we’ve got more supply than I thought or there are a lot of people who aren’t getting vaccinated. My wife got the same text 30 minutes later.
  8. Fuck outta here. What a god damn embarrassment.
  9. 30 hours after first Pfizer shot. Shoulder still a little sore but good to go otherwise. Got laid last night. Went to the gym and had a good workout today. Grilling tomorrow. Parents coming in to town who are both fully vaxxed tomorrow. Going to be a great weekend.
  10. Arm still really sore, more than it is whenever I get a flu shot. Still doing fine though.
  11. 1st shot done. Pfizer at UTMB at a park in Clear Lake. Well run. Was in and out in an hour or so, drive thru style. Go back in 3 weeks (4/8) for second dose at the same time, no follow up appointment required. Just go get back on line at the same time. Very smoothly run.
  12. Getting my first dose today from UTMB in Clear Lake/Webster (Houston). I'm not 1A, 1B, 1C or a teacher/school admin. Signed up for their wait list about a month or so ago and got an e-mail yesterday asking me to schedule an appointment with a direct link. I'm assuming it's leftover doses or they didn't have anyone within the categories left on wait lists so they moved to the common folk wait list. It's either Pfizer or Moderna as it's a two dose shot (per the appointment). Don't care, getting shot.
  13. Just got an e-mail from UTMB (Galveston County) asking me to schedule. Getting first dose tomorrow at 2:25 in Clear Lake. Not 1A, 1B, 1C or teacher. Leftovers I guess? Edit: I signed my wife and I up for Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, and Memorial Hermann wait lists starting a month ago or so.
  14. Yes. Daniel Figurelli, the former racist intern from PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC, LLP) located in Houston, Texas.
  15. Memorial Hermann is expanding their wait list to 18+. I signed up immediately. Gotta be a good thing in my opinion. https://secureaccess.memorialhermann.org/authenticated/COVID19Vax/HUB/PreRegistration?fbclid=IwAR0boFxVAjoEjj2wHMJJQfRPYn67la_ymGh8AOSChlYbiWnBPR3j1loldY0
  16. I deadlifted for a while about 2 years ago. I actually haven’t deadlifted since. Fear of injury and not having proper form are big factors in that decision. I can hit all of the muscles that deadlifts hit with other exercises. Granted, it takes a bit longer, but I’ll do that rather than risking injury to my back. Bent over row is the main variant for barbell row for me.
  17. I lead every workout with a main lift (squat, bench, barbell row) that are low volume high weight. Typically around the 6-8 rep range, 6 sets progressing upwards and two sets at the max weight. Then I'll fill in with ancillary exercises that incorporate push/pull/legs. I also do shoulder work on leg days and will typically do at least one exercise of shoulders every day at the gym. Also work in another arm exercise or two on a push or leg day.
  18. I do PPL as well. It’s a very good and simply program to follow IMO.
  19. I didn’t lift weights for a year. To stay in shape and keep my weight down during Covid, I really buckled down on my food intake and started running. I’m running a 5k in may and my wife is running the 15k. I got up to running about 4 miles 4 or 5 times a week but kind of got worn out from it around Christmas then got rona January 15. I’ve started going back to the gym last month and have hit my pre-Covid squat max after starting back at 135. I hit 205x6 today and it felt good. My squat used to be less than my bench. Bench is coming along nicely post rona as well. I’ve increased my protein intake and can already see definition coming in to my legs, chest, shoulders, and arms. I’m coming up on 3 years of living a healthier lifestyle and have been under 190 for 2 years now. 130 pounds down, 34 waist, 187 pounds. Goals for the next 6 months: bench 225x5, squat 255x5, 193 pounds (gain one pound per month), stay lean. Good job everyone, keep up the good work.
  20. Looks fantastic. Good job.
  21. Oof. Based on username, not surprised. That sucks but like Both Tacos said, talk to the butcher at your Costco.
  22. Costco beef ribs are fantastic. Typically $4.99 per pound. Found some in the freezer this weekend when I was digging out a brisket to thaw out. Will do those after the brisket.
  23. An hour commute each way 5 days a week. That comes out to 22 days per year. Not uncommon at all. I’ve been to the office 10 times in the last year though.
