Hoops Report: Workouts begin today; one more roster addition
Sean Miller and staff have the current roster of players on campus save freshman center Lewis Obiorah (more on that below). After a week of individual workouts, the team will begin weight training, conditioning and skill-related instruction today.
The Longhorns already have the tallest roster in the programs history, and there could be another addition. The six players added are 7-foot-1, 7-foot, 6-foot-10, 6-foot-8, 6-foot-7 and a 6-foot-4 combo guard. The additions, along with keeping 6-foot-8.5 forward signee John Clark in the fold and retaining 6-foot-9 Nic Codie, 6-foot-6 guard Tramon Mark and 6-foot-3 guard Chendall Weaver has created the tallest/longest roster I have seen in my years covering and following Texas. That means the lone player on the current roster not 6-foot-3 or taller is shooter Jordan Pope.
Lewis Obiorah update ...
The 7-foot-1, 19 year old will not join the team until August. He is developmental player in year one.
Completing the 2025-26 roster ...
Texas has two scholarship spots remaining. One spot is a lock to be used. As of today, it's expected to be an international player. And that player could be another impact big man, or a role playing guard.
