  5. Jeff Howe We just wrapped up Jim Schlossngale's media availability ahead of tomorrow's opening game of a three-game home series between No. 1 Texas A&M. Here are a few key things to file away: — Jared Spencer is returning from Houston after undergoing further evaluation for the arm injury he suffered in last Thursday's win over Auburn. Spencer will speak with his family before he decides what to do next, which includes surgery. As Blake Munroe reported this morning, Ruger Riojas will start the Friday game against the Aggies, followed by Luke Harrison on Saturday. — Jonah Williams left Tuesday's road win over Texas State with a leg injury. Schloss said Williams was feeling "pretty good" today. They won't push him in practice today to help him continue his recovery. Williams' availability for the A&M series is TBD. — Ethan Mendoza isn't ready to return to second base yet. Schloss said Mendoza will remain in the DH spot in the lineup. It'll either be Jayden Duplantier or Adrian Rodriguez manning second base until Medoza is ready to return to his full-time role.
  6. The old PIzza Hut in Navasota is now a funeral home.
  7. Bobby Folks have asked about the portal and what are next steps for the Longhorns. I think the coaches and the personnel team are waiting to see what, if anything, transpires internally over the next 36 hours or so. The timeline to enter the portal closes at 11:59pm tomorrow. After the portal closes, I expect Texas to address any potential additional needs.
  8. Bobby Burton I mentioned earlier that safety Derrick Williams is still not “fully” back although he has been practicing some. One player who has been full-go this week is receiver Ryan Wingo. Wingo was held out for a lot of spring on a precautionary basis. His hamstring tightened and Texas just didn’t want to risk it, preferring to give it full time to resolve. Well, it’s resolved and Wingo has been back this week. Additionally, we are told that receiver DeAndre Moore is also suited out for practice. But he is not doing many live drills or 7-on-7 work following his off-season toe surgery. Sark understandably continues to err on the side of caution with key players and injuries during spring camp.
  9. Wing T and Slot T is beautiful offense, eat shit.
  10. Bobby has been more forthcoming than normal this offseason:
  11. So this team will be a play in caliber team like Xavier?
  12. I like NFL network more than ESPN
  13. How do they feel about safety? I read that as specific to CB....but the safety room is pretty thin especially with Derrick Williams coming off that midseason ACL tear.
  14. I think they're treating Shaw's knee much like they treated Lole's shoulder in limiting him until season?
  15. He's a real good baseball player if the rumors are true.
  16. That is the second time he's said that about Butler in a post.
  17. Congealed salads sound disgusting and I've never had them. I also hate the fruit salad that people use whip cream in. Dickeys, Mikeskas, and the other fast food BBQ joints are so fucking bad they somehow can fuck up chopped beef sandwiches. Agree with Blue Bell, Creamy Creations clears Lone Star is great beer for cookoffs, floating, and hot day events(specifically Lone Star Red). The price point used to be so much better but the hipsters ruined that and it's not as cheap as it was even with inflation. I agree cold water oysters are so much better when consumed raw. But if you are charring them or making oyster rockefeller then gulf oysters will suffice. Never had that but would try it. Kind of reminds me of a hot toddy. Typical Helobious post and disagree with it all except your Blue Bell and Whataburger take. Fuck that disgusting shit. @immamac timeout this guy for 8 hours for the bolded, thanks. Growing up on sweet sweet tea these days I prefer unsweet, just kind of wore myself out on sweet tea over the years if that makes sense. My grandpa would put a slice of cornbread in a bowl and pour cold milk on it and sprinkle some sugar on it for a snack or breakfast.
  18. Gerry Hamilton Texas Hoops: Battle for Wilcher; team notes Sean Miller and staff are in a battle for St. John's transfer combo guard Simeon Wilcher. Texas has been the favorite to land the 6-foot-4 CG that started 25 games for the Big East Champion since entering the portal. Maryland and Ole Miss are among the teams battling hard vs. the Longhorns. Maryland, in particular, due to the family relationship with Buzz Williams have been a thorn in the last 16 hours. Chris Beard is also trying his best to get Wilcher to not commit to the Longhorns. More on the remaining needs for the 2025-26 team below. Two team notes ... Two players have looked really good in recent work. The staff is very excited about what 6-8.5 power forward Nic Codie can become in Miller's offensive system. His skill set has really impressed. And how impressively he immediately jumped in and showed his desire to develop. The staff also likes what they have seen from the skill set of Jordan Pope, and believes there is more they can unlock offensively. Pope is expected to be a quality mover without the ball in Miller's system, which will create more scoring opportunities on the move. Texas current 2025-26 roster... Tramon Mark, CG, 6-6, Gr. (10.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists) Jordan Pope, CG, 6-0, senior (11.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists) Chendall Weaver, G, 6-3, senior (6.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists) Camden Heide, F, 6-7, junior (4.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 39.2% from three at Purdue) Dailyn Swain, F, 6-8, junior (11.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals at Xavier) Matas Vokietaitas, C, 7-0, sophomore (10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds at FAU) Lassina Traore, C, 6-10, senior (11.9 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists in 2023-24 at LBSU) Nic Codie, PF, 6-8.5, sophomore John Clark, PF, 6-8.5, freshman Jamie Vinson, PF, 6-10.5, sophomore 11th and 12th scholarship portal targets ... Texas will take one more combo guard, and likely two more guards to complete the 2025-26 team. A combo of a college portal and international player is in play. The 13th scholarship… Texas will be patient here. Will likely be a developmental player. There are a number of international prospects getting serious evaluations. Sean MIller's staff ... Chris Ogden - General Manager Adam Cohen - Associate Head Coach David Miller - Assistant coach Kenya Hunter - assistant coach Ulric Malagi - assistant coach Ryan Anderson - Assistant coach/Director of player Development Ryan Reynolds - Special Assistant to the Head Coach Cam Miller -Director of Operations Andy Kettler - Head of strength & conditioning Gerry also posted this video of Evan Boisdur who he says is one of the 3-4 international guys Texas is in contact with.
