  1. You’re right - Agbo played as many ITE snaps in this game as he had been playing. Although I think all of the failed goal line tries might have bumped that up a little more than they would have liked.
  2. This. I need to check the PFF numbers, but I don’t think we played the jumbo package, with Agbo at TE, at all against BYU. It’s been one of our most productive packages but I don’t think Sark wanted to put anymore of it on tape before Kansas St.
  3. Quinn Ewers was a #1 recruit, in his third season, with 17 starts - so, yeah, expectations would be a little higher.
  4. What a throw while getting popped.
  5. 95% of these ‘reports’ are written on their phone while they sit in their car at a red light. There are no editors or proofreading involved. These guys have quotas on how much content they have to produce daily/weekly.
  6. Gerry (IT) says that if Texas can't get Deandre Carter to flip from Auburn that Texas likes the Senior film for a 6'7" OT committed to Tech - Jacob Ponton https://247sports.com/player/jacob-ponton-46140718/
  7. No, straight flip.
  8. Bobby's response to the pants-pissers worried about the dad's response to the bullshit question asked after Wingo's commitment.
  9. This is pleasant news.
  10. If they clamp down in the red zone - who gives a shit? Texas is 17th in the country in points allowed - yeah that didn't hold up against Houston - but overall this has been a good defense at keeping opponents out of the end zone. For years people in Chicago bitched about Lovie and the Tampa 2 defense because they gave up easy yards across the middle - but the whole point was to make the offense have to methodically work their way down the field. Ideally this team would be better at creating turnovers, but regardless once the field shortens they have been clamping down on offenses. Texas defense is 25th in the nation in Stop Rate and 18th in Points per Drive
  11. Fuck that noise. Hiring Lincoln Riley for the Bears would be a Marc Trestman level disaster.
  12. Yes, please. We need to speak this into existence. Which McCaskey do I need to lock in a closet for this to happen?
  13. On3 is trash. I had high hopes for that site - but its pretty clear now that all the shit they advertised as 'revolutionary' was bullshit with no real technology behind it - and their evaluations are as bad as Rivals.
  14. As a Bears fan I welcome the NCAA making an example of Jim Harbaugh.
  15. BYU is giving up 186 yards a game on the ground (4.8 per carry) against FBS opponents - and as shitty as people here think our OL is, every team they've played would swap for Texas'. BYU has shown no ability to stop a team rushing.
  16. Because its the first start for a kid playing the most important and difficult position in all of sports? Because this team is talented enough they don't need to rely on the QB alone - so they shouldn't? I think there a lot of reasons and none of them are 'Maalik is an idiot'.

  18. FWIW - The (Chicago) Bears started an UDFA rookie QB from Div II Shepherd this weekend. Bears rolled using a run-heavy game plan and didn't ask the QB to do anything other than get the ball out quick. I'm hoping we see similar from Sark this weekend - time to use all the runs in the playbook. OZ, IZ, jet sweeps, Red-Cat, JaTavion Cat. It needs to be like that episode of Ted Lasso where he solicits trick plays from his players. Unlike that Shepherd kid - Murphy has a howitzer attached to his shoulder - but its stil his first start and we shouldn't be asking him to lead the offense even if he is mentally/physically capable.
  19. Ewers threw the ball 6 times after that - including 4 straight completions after the sack. Then Ewers ran and crushed his other shoulder before throwing two incompletions and then field goal.
