  1. Bobby (IT) confirmed this morning that Fenner is a candidate and the 'name to follow' for the Director of High School Relations position. Brendan Harris just started following Fenner.
  2. Pretty sure that was a fake twitter account reporting that. Wiggins was in Texas today recruiting with Saban:

  4. My post was from a response to a Riley Dodge mention.
  5. Dodge's name was brought up on IT when talking about the Director of High School Relations position - but Nahlin said that it would probably have to come with the promise of a bigger role. A position like this might be a way to bring Dodge in and give him a chance to coach without making him one of the 11 spots on staff.
  6. Not saying any of them were possibilities - but there were a few WRs that would have been nice to have. But - it sure looks like Johntay Cook and DeAndre Moore are much more ready to play as true freshman than last years pair of WR recruits - so if the shit does hit the fan they won't be completely overwhelmed and Texas won't be fucked if they have to play.
  7. Couldn't find any history for previous rankings - but I did find a Justin Wells article that had him listed at 82 in the On3 rankings.
  8. Just reposting what IT staff is writing. Per their sources Sark is looking for a little variety in his WR's (similar to his desire to recruit 'different' types of backs).
  9. Edited - yeah, that should have said 'offensive'.
  10. Nahlin had previously said that Bryant isn't 'that' guy. He said ideally they would have liked two WRs out of the portal and one of them would have been a longer guy who could stretch the field. Bryant would be an add as a solid all-around WR.
  11. Bobby (IT) confirms that Texas does indeed have interest in the 5'11" USC WR Gary Bryant Jr now in the portal. Bryant won't be graduating until May so will not be transferring until the summer. Bryant was described as having average speed but is a precise route runner with good hands and the ability to make the tough catch, who after a very good 2021, fell out of favor with Riley and fell down the depth chart with the additions of Jordan Addison and Mario Williams. Bryant still has three seasons of eligibility
  12. Bobby (IT) reporting that we should hear about the hire of the 'Special Assistant to the Head Coach' as early as today, or tomorrow. Expect it to be an offensive minded-guy. The hire has nothing to do with Gary Patterson, though IT still think it unlikely Patterson returns for next season.
  13. They have been pretty literal about Texas desire for more 'length' at WR. I don't think IT has ever said that it was a 'big name' - just that Texas was being very particular about WRs they were going after.
  14. He’s just a little guy - 5’7” 170
  15. Emmett Jones is such a phenomenal WR coach that he’s gone from Tech, then to Kansas, and back to Tech before joining the Cryptkeeper’s shitastic staff. Fuck Emmett Jones.
  16. Hate to break up all this punter talk - but this is fun:
  17. Per Nahlin (IT), Texas is still prioritizing an experienced receiver with length out of the portal. Texas has passed on a few WRs who fit that description already, but are still waiting for more desirable options to hit the portal. IT has been reporting for the last few days that they are expecting an option to enter the portal on Monday (today). If that doesn't happen Nahlin says to expect Texas to turn their attention towards Gary Bryant Jr, the UCS WR who entered the portal last week. Bryant doesn't graduate until March - but Nahlin says that timing might be favorable for Texas.
  18. Excellent - lay down some of those receipts.
  19. FWIW - Nahlin (IT) says that the Jackson hire would be in line with Sark's desire to turn Texas into more of a 'professional program'. Sark also spent a couple of years in the NFL and has a ton of connections across the league so it could be any number of people recommending Jackson - not necessarily an 'obvious' connection.
