  1. Bobby (IT) confirms that Texas does indeed have interest in the 5'11" USC WR Gary Bryant Jr now in the portal. Bryant won't be graduating until May so will not be transferring until the summer. Bryant was described as having average speed but is a precise route runner with good hands and the ability to make the tough catch, who after a very good 2021, fell out of favor with Riley and fell down the depth chart with the additions of Jordan Addison and Mario Williams. Bryant still has three seasons of eligibility
  2. Bobby (IT) reporting that we should hear about the hire of the 'Special Assistant to the Head Coach' as early as today, or tomorrow. Expect it to be an offensive minded-guy. The hire has nothing to do with Gary Patterson, though IT still think it unlikely Patterson returns for next season.
  3. They have been pretty literal about Texas desire for more 'length' at WR. I don't think IT has ever said that it was a 'big name' - just that Texas was being very particular about WRs they were going after.
  4. He’s just a little guy - 5’7” 170
  5. Emmett Jones is such a phenomenal WR coach that he’s gone from Tech, then to Kansas, and back to Tech before joining the Cryptkeeper’s shitastic staff. Fuck Emmett Jones.
  6. Hate to break up all this punter talk - but this is fun:
  7. Per Nahlin (IT), Texas is still prioritizing an experienced receiver with length out of the portal. Texas has passed on a few WRs who fit that description already, but are still waiting for more desirable options to hit the portal. IT has been reporting for the last few days that they are expecting an option to enter the portal on Monday (today). If that doesn't happen Nahlin says to expect Texas to turn their attention towards Gary Bryant Jr, the UCS WR who entered the portal last week. Bryant doesn't graduate until March - but Nahlin says that timing might be favorable for Texas.
  8. Excellent - lay down some of those receipts.
  9. FWIW - Nahlin (IT) says that the Jackson hire would be in line with Sark's desire to turn Texas into more of a 'professional program'. Sark also spent a couple of years in the NFL and has a ton of connections across the league so it could be any number of people recommending Jackson - not necessarily an 'obvious' connection.
  10. Matt Nagy was the head coach when Chicago hired Jackson as a defensive analyst and then as an assistant WR coach - Mike Furrey was the WR coach. I'm assuming Nagy is the one who recommended Jackson to Pederson (Nagy and Pederson both worked under Andy Reid). I don't know if any of those three have a relationship with Sark - but I have to believe this interview/hire is based on a recommendation from someone Sark trusts.
  11. Jackson would certainly be an indicator hire and tell whether or not Sark can identify coaching talent and if he has a network of people that he can/should trust. Because that resume is real damn thin. Although I do appreciate that he grinded out a 'star' career in the Arena League after a few season of bouncing around the NFL.
  12. Big ups to all the ballers making Texas the leader in NIL. Seriously - appreciate all that you guys have done to organize and contribute.
  13. Jeff Banks was on the Washington State team with Chris Jackson 96-97. So there is a connection to the current staff.
  14. Gerry (IT) had this to say in response to questions about Chris Jackson and the 'unknown' in regards to his recruiting:
  15. Interesting prospect. Had 525 yards and 6 TDs on only 18 catches for Louisville in 2021 for a ridiculous 29.2 yards per reception. Transferred to Alabama in 2022, was injured most of the year, and ended the season with only 2 catches.
  16. Wells confirmed this is indeed a PWO.
  17. Adam Henry makes 500k at Indiana. Joel Filani makes 240k at Washington State.
