  1. Not to mention too many doors! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. EXACTLY!! As a counselor I have several students with very concerning behaviors each year, but the system is so weak. WE see it in schools as staff/teachers, but no one seems to listen. It’s so frustrating!
  3. Thank you for putting into words exactly what I’m feeling as a school counselor. I’ve been in education 20+ years , do all the trainings and drills and always am aware/vigilant about “what if” and escape routes, defense ‘weapons’, etc. Now it feels like ‘uhhh, yea…about the police protection…not gonna happen. Good luck!’ Of course all of the ‘mass shootings’ are horrendous, but seeing the fucking cops do nothing as children/teachers were terrorized just hit me hard. We are on our own… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I disagree. Even without training, people pull from an inner strength and conviction that enables them to act proactively in life or death situations. The mother that ran in and got her children out never had training. I haven’t had extensive training beyond the yearly ‘active danger’ trainings at school yet I have handled traumatic situations beyond what I would assume I could. A decent human being cannot hear the screams of children and do nothing. It pulls at your heart and impels you to action. These fucking assholes had guns and even some protection, yet stood by listening to the horrors of children dying. Fuck them all.
  5. Shit sorry! Kinda high and fucked this up. Don’t know how to delete either. *btw —I’m thinking insanity is the only explanation for this concoction Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Now do arming teachers! We also feel this is not in our job description. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Your crass “jokes”, for lack of a better word, are quite telling. You really don’t fucking care that CHILDREN were just murdered. Your lack of compassion and basic human decency is appalling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Just when I thought I reached maximum rage, Cruz comes through with another dumbass ‘idea’ to show me I can in fact get much much more ragey. This fool is going on about no guns for criminals, felons, or people who are severely mentally ill —too fucking dumb to realize the Uvalde gunman seemed to have no history of a criminal record or mental health illness . His fucking response doesn’t even apply to the current horrific situation .
  10. Congrats on your well-behaved guns …what exactly is your point? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I’m a school counselor-sadly we teach this and so much more on ‘threat awareness’. I’m sad to even be saying this, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to practice general ‘awareness’ with your child regularly for a variety of threats. I’m truly heartbroken about this- our students are 3 days away from summer break and the joy that permeates this time of year is palpable. I hate that this is ‘normal’. 17. Hi! Teacher/counselor here. Gift cards are great-and Sonic is always a good one! Cookies are a sweet thought but with allergies, diabetes, etc. not always a super idea. Nice of y’all to recognize your child’s teachers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Very interesting…and very different- TRUMP: Trump said he wanted the military to go in and “beat the fuck” out of Black Lives Matter protesters and that he said, “Just shoot them,” on multiple occasions. Trump only toned down the order to shoot them in the “leg” or “foot” after Attorney General William Barr and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley pushed back on his initial request. (Rolling Stone) BIDEN: “Instead of standing there and teaching a cop when there’s an unarmed person coming at them with a knife or something, shoot them in the leg instead of in the heart,” Biden said, going on to argue that “There’s a lot of different things that can change” in police training. (New York Post) What exactly is your point ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. No educator is clamoring to discuss sexual orientation with your children. Our goal is for all children to feel safe and accepted. Really don’t get why that’s so hard to comprehend but at least it keeps you entertained. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Holy shit…actual fucking grooming and no concern from our local seedworker. Shocking! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you! I had to take a break from the lack of comprehension/critical thinking exhibited by some posters. Fucking exhausting-don’t know how you guys have dealt with such moronic ‘reasoning’ for years. And thanks to the rest of you for your support of educators-really is a tough job (and getting tougher every day) but worth it when you see the glimmer of hope in your students. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Seriously? Do you even know the definition of grooming or are you just parroting the latest buzzword of your party? JFC—for you to suggest such a thing is offensive. You actually believe my goal, as counselor/educator, is gaining the child’s trust in order to sexually abuse them? Get the fuck out of here with your bullshit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Teachers/staff are not on a mission to ‘talk about homosexual relationships’ with your kid. Our goal is the well-being of all students, including those who may be LGBTQ+ or have family/friends who are. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Interesting that you say “hide shit from parents”. Do you think the fact the student shared with her counselor/school staff about these issues and not her parents indicates she isn’t comfortable discussing them with her parents? If the parents had the close, supportive relationship with their child they suggest, the child would likely open up to them about situations. There was a reason the student did not want her parents to know. And you obviously have not been in schools much, as kids talk about relationships quite often. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
