  1. I’d take 15-13 right now if offered, lock it in and look to finish strong in September if we can finally get healthy. Sweeping Texas would also be nice. If we can go 14-14 or better and sweep then that should just about eliminate them I’d guess.
  2. Every 6 months if we are lucky. Of course if you are doing it every 6 months you are probably paying all borrowers costs and making a commission of less than 1% (no complaints I’m grateful) of the loan amount versus 3% of the sales price, so, yeah, it still probably sits on your favor unless and until refis are 70+ percent of the market.
  3. If he’s not it’s a disappointment.
  4. Oh I mean if the money saved wasn’t going to be lit on fire it would have been much more helpful. For sure.
  5. I love Correa. We probably handled that one right with Pena.
  6. 2023 FA Class Aaron Judge- awesome so far- way too many years on it. Trae Turner- $27M a year for a lot of years- 2.3 WAR in year 1, that won't age well Carlos Correa- Signed a 1 year 30M deal or whatever after 2022 and was hot garbage in 23. Bounced back this year but that doesn't count b/c he opted out after being shitty in 23 Xander Bogaerts- 25M per for like 10 or 12 years. 4.4 War last year- 0.8 War this year- would you want to be on the hook for the next 200+ M of that contract? Dansby Sawanson- 40M so far- 5.8 War- this one might work out- was only a 7/175 as I recall Brandon Nimmo- 8/162- 6.5 War so far- trending to 8 for first two years- they might get value out of this one- depending on if you believe it is $8M per War or 10M per war Jose Abreu- Nope Carlos Rodon- Ha. Haha, Hahaha Chris Bassitt- 3 for 63. So far he's at 3.2 WAR- half way through- not a disaster Degrom- 5/185. I think he's pitched 17 innings so far in the first 2 years of the deal Wilson Contreras- I like this deal. The Cardinals pitchers had a mutiny last year and refused to pitch to him. Things seem to be on track this year? 5/87. I was pounding the table to sign him. Figured LF//1B/DH and back up catcher with Yainer. Probably make value Clayton Kershaw- Nope- hurt- more playoff suck Justin Turner- 1 year contract- he outperformed it Nathan Evoldi- 2/34 with a 25 vesting option. Fucking Rangers with the best signing of the offseason JUstin Verlander- Nope Michael Brantley- Nope Max Scerzer- nope Wade Miley- Nope Kevin Kiermaier- good deal Jsoh Bell- Cut Brandon belt- really good 1 year signing Greinke- Nope Bellinger- good deal on 1 year Nobody did as poorly as us. Not even close. It wasn't quite as bad as I remembered- but there are only a couple deals that are going to pencil out and some of the ones that were 8, 10, 12 years that look fine now are going to suck on the backend and be pretty underwater overall.
  7. Just a reminder I was apoplectic about two of those 3 signings when they happened. Loved the Abreu signing so I nailed that one. it wasn’t just us by the way. Like 80% of that free agent class ended up being a disaster.
  8. Bout to be refi season boys. For those that bought in the last 12-18 months anyway.
  9. Maybe 50 basis points in September if we get a weak jobs number and continued easing in inflation.
  10. Trade deadline pod. We didn’t love it.
  11. Best bat traded was Arozarena. I wanted him very badly. Winner would have been a fine consolation prize. We got worked there because we were too busy looking for a pitcher and took our eye off the ball imo.
  12. This is just a reminder that Garcia has already been sent on 1 rehab tour through shitty Texas and florida minor league compounds before we got here. But where we are now is not a setback. For reasons.
  13. My dad basically cornered Elko at a 12 game (b team) where Elko was watching his untalented kid play and proceeded to ask him a bunch of questions basically that amounted to why did aggy, jimbo and probably him suck so badly at football. Dad told me about said conversation and it was super cringey. But not as bad as dad is now. The end.
  14. 12 has some teams that play out of college station too. My brother had all 3 kids play up there for them. Elko had a kid on my nephews team at the time. My dad, before he fucking got his Tramatic Brain Injury from falling down and scrambling his brain and became a pants shitting retard basically asked Elko why he/aggy sucked at one of those games. It was seriously uncool and Elko was pissed. He was telling me about it and it was so cringe. Not near as cringe as shitting your pants 5 times a week though. Also- this was the B team so even being an Elko when he was the defensive coordinator at aggy wasn't enough to get him on the A team- if that tells you how much junior Elko sucked. Since we are telling 12 stories and all- figured I'd post this here.
  15. That seems like the kind of return that’s logical for a guy like that.
  16. Minor leaguer so not Chas
  17. You should have? You said years. The proper accounting period for any trade if you want to measure what went away is the period of time the other club has control- ergo 6 or 7 years. OK- maybe Wagner takes a year to call up and it's 8 years. But the point is we can know this trade was terrible by October 1 or really good by November 1- we don't need to wait "years" That's the case with a rental. If it helps you get what you want it's wait and see for what you gave up. If it doesn't help you hit your goal its a failure and the only thing left to reasonably do is measure the size of the failure.
  18. If we don't make the playoffs it was an awful trade- regardless of what we gave up and what it turned out to be. We just won't know the final accounting on how awful it was. You said we won't know if it's a good or bad trade for 6 or 7 years. If we don't make the playoffs (or God forbid he gets hurt) then we know its a bad trade. Like, with 100 percent certainty.
  19. I mean- they aren't going to be HOFers obviously. But if we win the WS this year and he plays an integral role I won't care if Bloss becomes a #2, Loperfido is a plus regular and Wagner is the second coming of Dubon.
  20. That's not even remotely close to true. We can know that this trade is awful as early as October 1 if things go bad. We won't know just how awful and damaging for another 6 or 7 years I guess. We could know it's a good trade I guess by Nov 1. If he pitches us into the playoffs and a world series title the other 3 can go be hall of famers and I won't care.
  21. Plus two other guys who will have a major league career in all likelihood.
  22. For starters, Fredde, Elfin and Montas are all better than kikuchi, have actual control beyond this year, and received lesser packages than we sent out. This isn’t me saying this- this is the consensus of everyone saying this. MLB trade values rejected the trade as unfair to astros. Baseball America I already referenced. Keith law said big haul for a mediocre rental, Athletic had us getting fleeced. Insiders on various different board I frequent and some that I’ve talked to offline and know are legit and occasionally tell me things said the general consensus around MlB is the astros got raped. Is that good enough for you?
  23. For how about everyone that’s gone out has more value than we received- and everyone we sent out is more valuable than what was sent out by others. Baseball America had us sending out the 2nd and 7th best prospects traded as of right now. They didn’t have our incoming in the top 10. It wasn’t the price of doing business- it was criminally stupid.
  24. Watching other teams get pieces that could have helped us for reasonable returns is like flipping on Cinemax after dark to see your wife was starring in one of those movies. What actually transpired was like finding out your daughter was the lead star on a bang bros production.
