  1. More a joke on the meme. If we could get two grad transfers one would likely have to a Tristan Houston-like take of a guy who hasn't seen the field much. I doubt a quality G5 guy would take the chance of being 2nd or 3rd fiddle. Did any of our stellar PWOs come in with any RB skills?
  2. Meh has mastered the Hank Scorpio Path to Success.
  3. 4 ACC players (Counting ND) 3 SEC 2 Big 10 2 Big 12 1 AAC 1 CUSA 0 Pac 12 Want to know where the recruiting services' bread is buttered?
  4. Ain't nobody gonna go to the hospital for rubbin' one out.
  5. Yeah, the fact that the correlations are keyed to all teams rather than a correlation based on how those positions performed at each school means there is a potential for wide variation. Connelly claims his number account for things like returning DB tackles, #2 and #3 WR, and QB, but how could it do that effectively for any given team when all teams share the same position correlations? If Team 1 throws the ball around evenly to six guys and loses their #1, how is that comparable to a team that threw to their departing #1 60% of the time? How does his system account for a team like Georgia Tech? They will get dinged more if they change all their WRs rather than RBs. I bet their performance is affected less by changing WRs, which Connelly says is more important overall. You note Locke, but Hager is another guy whose output could actually be worse than the guys behind him. Losing Wheeler is probably more harmful because we also lose Johnson, but in a vacuum just losing Wheeler might not be a bad thing. On offense, losing Watson could hurt, but it ignores the fact that Watson was a grad transfer (as was Anderson), so what if we get another one this summer? It also can't full account for the fact that Ingram would have likely been our leading rusher if he weren't hurt.
  6. Are you going to make another avatar wager with CTJ on this?
  7. Queue up the Dueling Banjos. #PurtyMouthPatrol
  8. Looks like 247 is already going to have readjust their Top 50 transfer rankings...
  9. I am guessing Proctor was a nobody when he signed with Virginia as he didn't make the list but a big name bust like Richmond did.
  10. And yet they have fully mastered the art of fauxmentum. Don't you know that most of the 4 and 5 star players in the 2020 class are CBed to aggy?
  11. I think the transfer portal will help with some of the variability in OL development. Let a second tier program help find and polish the diamonds in the rough and then you grab them after their quality is known. If Sheppard were to come here and flame out, the better move is probably going to be filling that spot with a grad transfer of known quality than on a HS senior, especially a guy who is the #5 pick for the class (if Sheppard is even a factor in that decision). I hope Texas leverages its high visibility to great success on the transfer market, especially at positions where there is a high bust rate.
  12. I would add that those voted on awards are also very much skewed to PR and overall team quality than to actual play. Being a highly-recruited guy is more likely to get you on an All-Conference list than a nobody with similar or sometime even better play. I would like to see what sort of rating he got from PFF. I know they aren't perfect either, but seeing how they have him stacked up nationally might be useful data.
  13. Put a box that covers up most of that Jimbo's legs and you would be spot on.
  14. Not to get too CR, but I am surprised aggy doesn't have a sizeable DC population with their ability to create propaganda. Perhaps they tried and failed when the rest of the country didn't get pitches like 'Squeeze One and Buy War Bonds', 'Volunteer and Say Howdy to Hitler', or 'Uncle Sam wants Ewe!'
  15. In with you Pato. This part of the thread should be in Texas 2020...an important conversation. If Evan's brother didn't seem to be so strongly in our court, I would say put a lot of focus on b-e until those options move on, but still keep yourself in on Evans. If we hit on b-e, don't sweat it if we miss on him. That said, it does seem at this point that we have some sort of lead with a major player in his decision, so a and f is the play. Sure Evans could be great, but I am not sure I see him as a 'must have' beyond the perception game. I think we can win the conference and make the playoffs without a generational talent at RB and I am not sure if he will be a generational talent. Above average backs look great when running behind great lines. Evans and a great line make winning the conference and a national title much more likely, but a mediocre line and Evans probably won't hack it so give me the great line.
  16. If the dude hasn't been arrested yet, he probably isn't going to get busted in Baton Rouge.
  17. As others have noted, add shady handler to the red flags list. Also add previous client of shady handler has already transferred out of the program in large part due to mental weakness. The only thing I would add as a positive factor if we end up getting Sheppard is that so many of the mental evals have been spot on with this staff. One bad egg isn't going to spoil the whole batch. Perhaps getting Sheppard out of his comfort zone and away from the bad influences, maybe gets him to turn it around. Much more likely that he will pan out here than at aggy or any place that has low character coaches and a slew of low character, rent-a-players. That said, he won't make it to campus and will be an aggy until he hits the portal and ends up at Sam Houston.
  18. Funny how guys like Williams and Richardson were afraid of our 2018 class and quickly jumped on aggy, but no one in the 2020 cycle seems to be afraid of Williams and Richardson, much less Erick Young. Long time to go, so perhaps aggy's world best ever CB haul will ultimately scare off recruits.
  19. She must have missed his Facebok live chats with Debra. They're lit!
  20. That costs money. Unedited propaganda sells well enough to keep the investors and execs happy. Ultimately quality writing isn't really at the top of the list for the mouthbreathers who subscribe.
  21. UTPhil2006, NTTAWWT, but we really don't need to know about your use of glory holes. I also assumed that sort of transaction was anonymous.
  22. I LOLed. It's a big stage if you are Bama, Georgia, Florida, and LSU or if you are playing one of them. Otherwise, especially if you are Arky or Ole Racist, it's G5 and FCS games on SECN (if even there) and most other games on ESPNU.
