  1. Montessori is a philosophy. The implementation of which is not regulated. You can get terrible schools that slap the name Montessori up on a sign with no adherence to the philosophy. You can get Montessori schools accredited by AMI which is the most snobby accrediting body and their schools are generally really good and well financed. St. Alcuin in Dallas and Community Montessori i. Georgetown are 2 I am familiar with. However, Montessori schools are definitely not for all children. I have had to listen to far too many Montessori discussions, wife holds 2 different grade level certifications in Montessori in addition to her Texas public teaching certificate and a Masters in early child education. One of my kids goes to AISD Gullett elementary even with our connection to Montessori. Public school is better suited for him. Have you thought about having your daughter skip an elementary grade if she needs the academic acceleration? I don’t see gifted and talented as being all that important until middle school. For reference I went through a magnet school program 25 years ago starting with 6th grade. With AP courses I started my freshman year at UT with like 3 credit hours short of being a sophomore. Still took me longer than normal to graduate.
  2. I tried planting some broccoli and kale starts. Within days they had been eaten to the ground. Do I pull them out and plant new starts or leave these in place and see if they recover ?
  3. As the rule is written, I won’t fight the call. My question about the rule is where is the defender supposed to put his head when trying to make that tackle? Also, is Foster out for the first half of the TCU game ?
  4. Everybodyyyyy
  5. Very disappointed in 78757 today. Basically a bust on the day.
  6. Trump doesn’t care about farmers in the Pacific Northwest. Their loss is not his concern. He wants to be seen as helping auto factory workers.
  7. I don’t think you will get that kind of clarity come November.
  8. This game will not break Texas. Losing at home to Kansas on Nov 19, 2016 already did that.
  9. What is Canada’s downside to walking away from these talks and completely ignoring Trump’s arbiter deadline?
  10. Just back from Pack 55 recruiting event. My son seems ready to join as a Tiger. Primarily because his friend from school is joining (his friend has older siblings already active). It was a nice recruiting event hosted at Northwest District Park. We shall see where this leads. I have no scouting experience or background
  11. Based on google search guessing it is a tobacco hornworm.
  12. Had a batch of late season peppers coming ripe this weekend. Went this evening to pick several and found this guy munching away on them. Biggest caterpillar I have ever seen. Don’t know what type it is.
  13. On the 10 counts where a mistrial was declared, is there a statue of limitations? Part of me is ok with the trumpkin holdout. If Trump grants a pardon for the eight guilty counts, could prosecutors follow up and retry the mistrial counts in a post Trump Presidency? Almost like getting a second crack at ensuring Manafort goes to prison.
  14. This is my current line of thinking. If Dems get White House + majorities in both House and Senate at some point in the future, they likely appoint enough justices to take the majority on Supreme Court.
  15. ^^^ That sounds like the airport will basically be under constant construction is some form or fashion indefinitely.
  16. Need some rain in the ‘57
  17. Seems to be a virtual tie up to this point.
  18. Does Rosenstein care if he is held in contempt? Trump doesn’t need a pretext to remove Rosenstein. So what is the end game of threatening contempt of Congress ?
  19. Even with Ryan retiring, this seems premature.
  20. I see that Wall Street is still up up and away regarding US equity markets. Even with all the negative Trump headlines.
  21. Personally that deal is far more attractive to me. So yes, I would take the cash and pass on the warranty. Other people may take the opposite. I would not try and get both.
  22. As the buyer I would expect you to offer cash for up to half the value of a replacement A/C unit that is of generic quality. So figure about $3k+. As the seller I would try and hold out and offer nothing. But come on it is a 17 year old unit. It is going to fail. And if it needs Freon, that unit is going to just be replaced. No buyer wants to worry about replacing the HVAC right after they buy the house even if you do have the warranty. Replacing the unit is a hassle. If you did a major remodel, that would seem to apply you are selling to the turn key crowd, not the fixer upper crowd. As a buyer I hate the AHS warranties. I find zero value in them. I want to be able to pick my own service company. Not use the cheapest POS company that the insurance company uses. I also want to pick the piece of replacement equipment, not have the insurance company put the cheapest POS equipment on my property. You can try to assign value to that home warranty during negotiations. It’s a crapshoot. Maybe the buyer will take your offer at face value. You get lucky. Maybe you get a buyer like me that if they felt they had leverage in a buyers market would turn the screws and be willing to walk away over something like this. You can always ask the realtors to pitch in some cash to close the gap if negotiations breakdown but the deal is close.
  23. Zero
  24. So standard Waco resident behavior ?
  25. It’s going to be a rough week in Texas. No rain in sight. A/C repair guys going to be working long days.
