  1. I got my notification from 5 stone today as well.
  2. First cherry tomatoes are ripening.
  3. My peaches are coming along. Still very green. Guessing about 3-4 weeks till they ripen. Neighbor has a peach tree they totally ignore. Offered free peaches for the picking. We picked a basket full. I was skeptical as it is very early and these were yellow with no blush. Let them sit on the counter for 3 days to ripen a bit more. Tried the first one and was amazed. Fantastic small cling peach. And the neighbor totally ignores said peach tree. Family ate the whole basket in 4 days. Wished we had picked a second basket.
  4. Two of my roses are in bloom. Acquired them last fall from a neighbor who was getting rid of them for free.
  5. Thank you sweet baby Jesus. Tapatalk may be a horrible company but the product is my defacto standard for browsing forums. Also it seems to use less battery than web browser.
  6. I am experimenting with growing a raspberry plant in a pot this year. Heritage Red variety. If it survives/thrives I may add more plants and put them in the ground next year.
  7. My wife picked up a cultivar of walking iris last year. She left it in a pot for the last 12 months and it never did anything. We divided it this spring and planted the 2 divided plants in the ground. Blooms seem impressive. But they last less than 24 hours. Had 3 rounds of blooms so far.
  8. Instead of calling the cops, maybe everybody should have just had another round of drinks.
  9. What is a good replacement website ?
  10. Running soaker hoses on my my pecan and peach trees today. No rain this weekend and no rain in the forecast.

    Fuck Cancer

I think my SIL is entering her final battle setting up her loss to the cancer war. Palliative care is being arranged after her long running battle with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her lungs and lymph nodes. It now appears to have started growing in her hip bone. Chemo no longer seems to be slowing the cancer’s advance. Her mobility is declining and she is succumbing to the immense and constant pain. She is starting to take some serious pain meds that cause her to sleep most of the day. This is going to crush my wife. Her sister is her only sibling. Fuck.
  12. Huh. I learned a new word today. Minstrel. Now student government can go back to being a bunch of windbags
  13. Some rain in ‘57 but I can already tell it’s not going to last very long.
  14. If Xi follows through and the changes are substantive and timely, major win for Trump.
  15. Looking for help identifying this tree via the photos. Thoughts?
  16. Rain gauge for camp Mabry says 0.09 inches. Translated to, no rain for you.
  17. Austin may just barely catch the edge of this one storm cell. Getting a few sprinkles currently.
  18. ^^its a first grind mulch. Could have contaminants in it. But then any bagged mulch may have contaminants. It most certainly is ridiculously high in carbon to nitrogen ratio. It is good for mulching pathways or something like cardboard sheet mulching. Likely not very good for direct planting or anything near your garden. It will probably rob nitrogen from your existing soil. At $2/bag it has a place in my opinion. Just be aware of its limitations. This likely holds true for any bagged mulch from a big box store. Now buying from whittlesey, maybe a different story.
  19. Got nothing but a brief sprinkle yesterday. What a tease.
  20. Disney should silently permanently ban her from Disney cruises. This is one customer that they do not want to win back.
  21. Hopefully the restaurant is able to financially survive these asinine protests.
  22. How do these people have the time to protest such trivial matters?
  23. When do people generally transplant watermelon and cantaloupe into the ground in central Texas?
