  1. I just want to reiterate how much I hate every sports columnist at the AAS. Got rid of Bohls and it still sucks shit through a straw. Whoever has been in charge there all these years is a disgrace.
  2. Elko does not have enough skins on the wall or personality to talk about his team like this in front of the media. I understand the frustration, but it's amateurish and I doubt it will be helpful in the long run. You love to see it.
  3. So many red flags in this first year regarding Elko's ability to be a successful head coach. Lot of signs of immaturity: the "this is a real program" comment then losing 4 out of the next 5, his sideline antics, sideline commentary, etc. He gets easily frustrated out there and his body language is terrible for a Head Coach. Maybe he figures it out, but I get the sense that Elko thinks he has all the answers with little ability to self reflect. Kinda reminds me of Tom Herman.
  4. Love me some Christopher Cross. Stay for the random 80s footage of Austin.
  5. This is the good stuff.
  6. Hit the weed pen 30 minutes ago and it just kicked in. I'm crying.
  7. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
  8. This guy was very clearly yelling "Big 12 refs! Big 12 refs!" when they cut to him. Please someone gif it.
  9. Are you ok? Let me slow it down for you. Arch, in his 2nd start of his career, had similar pre-snap motion count as the 3rd year starter. So when you allow the synapses to start firing, the "dumbed down" argument is gone.
  10. Well, you clearly can't think for yourself. And FYI, I just found Babers talking about Arch and the Mississippi State game and how the pre-snap motion increased from ULM game and was almost at the average with Quinn starting.
  11. The routes and concepts are the same. Arch has almost completed 2 years at Texas. He understands Sark's offense. He's not some mongoloid.
  12. Show me an example of Sark running a simpler offense for Arch. You're just talking out of your ass.
  13. Sark's offense for Quinn is simple minded. It is not complicated. He has curated it as much as he can to make things easy for Quinn.
  14. For as much as Sark likes and supports Quinn, he definitely sees and believes in the limitations. If anything, Sark is trying to make Quinn not think AT ALL. We run a simple system for him, it's just decorated with a lot of pre-snap movement and misdirection. Quinn is not a good processor and has trouble staying calm in the pocket. Quinn's footwork has barely improved (if at all) in 3 years. The deep ball has been an issue for 3 years. Sark tries to scheme open first reads or just call straight up one read play designs. That's why he keeps going back to the slow developing throw back screen bullshit. Re-watch the Clemson game. Quinn was good but it was paint by numbers most of the day. And it didn't have to be any more than that when we are running the ball well. If Ewers has a successful career in the NFL as a starter, I will be happy. And extremely, extremely shocked.
  15. This is silly. Most people on here were posting on Texas message boards before Quinn was even born. I will say Quinn's career has been super interesting and very different from past Texas QBs. Reclassifying out of HS and not playing his Senior season. He commits and decommits (understandably) to Texas. Then he is our first big transfer player. Then he's the first to have NIL and make shit loads of money. His career arc is very different than any QB that played for Texas before him. I think it's undeniable to say Quinn transferring to Texas was the first major step back to relevance. Card and Thompson were JAGs, and Ewers' recruiting ranking/hype is exactly what was needed at the time. He immediately showed brilliance vs. Bama in 2022 before getting hurt. It's the flashes of excellence that make the amateurish WTF plays/decisions so frustrating. But that's all baked in at this point. It's also been a very weird year schedule-wise. Inaugural season in the SEC, but the reality is the schedule was strange and pretty weak, which is no fault of Ewers or anyone else. He was excellent vs. Michigan, though that was the first sign that Michigan was pretty sucky this year. UGA was the only great team we faced and we lost to them twice. We were so much better overall than the rest of opponents that Ewers didn't have the opportunity to lead a comeback, instead we end up looking underwhelming on offense by holding leads and running out the clock for most second halves. If we played a conference schedule like OU this year, Quinn would've had many more chances to prove (or disprove) his greatness vs. better competition. The injuries every year sure didn't help. We are in the endgame now with a real chance at a championship. Arch takes over next year. Life is good.
  16. Fuck JerryWorld. Have no desire to willingly play in that cursed stadium.
  17. At this point, I agree. Put Arch back in the box unless there is an injury or code red situation. Doubt we need him for ASU, and assuming we win, we want fully confident Quinn for the OSU or Oregon matchup.
  18. Crazy to think Uncle Richie taught @henrygandorf and I this craps method 25 years ago, and it's still being discussed/used by Texas fans. I love it.
  19. Quinn has overall been treated very well by the coaching staff, players, and fanbase. Whatever criticism there's been over the last 3 years is practically standard protocol for any blueblood QB.
