  1. Aaaaand Jaylan Henderson broke his arm on 1st play of the game. Good grief.
  2. Decent chance we see Cam get some action tonight vs. the Suns due to Brooks getting injured last night. We desperately need someone to start knocking down some 3s.
  3. Tough loss, Halliburton is so fucking good. I absolutely love the way Ime handles his players and challenges them. How do they respond to adversity? I think Jalen played less than 20 minutes tonight. I'm not a big believer in him, but if he's gonna figure it out, now is the time to wake up.
  4. According to 247Sports’ Jeff Tarpley, sophomore wide receiver Noah Thomas will miss the matchup for undisclosed reasons, closing the book on his 2023 season after appearing in nine games while recording 29 receptions for 353 yards and five touchdowns, including his opening season three touchdown performance in the win vs. New Mexico. While some will attempt to take a deep dive into Thomas’s reasons for missing the game, remember that, through NIL sponsor Texas Aggies United, Thomas announced his return for the 2024 season earlier this month. While Thomas’s absence will certainly hinder the Aggies’ passing production against the Cowboys, it will now be up to Moose Muhammad III, Jahdae Walker, and freshman Micah Tease to steer the ship, at least on Wednesday night.
  5. The Elk is incredibly organized. He's reaching out to recruits from his masterfully detailed and unmatched evaluation list in alphabetic order. Hasn't reached the Ws yet, that's all. If Williams commits before Elko contacts him, then A&M didn't want him anyways.
  6. A few months ago I was listening to XMU and "I Saw" by Young Fathers came on. My 6 year old immediately loved it and asked to add it to his playlist. Great song and still listens to it a lot. Need to check out the rest of the album.
  7. Huge gift for A&M today...their long snapper recruit has confirmed he's still committed. The tide is turning.
  8. Whitmore offensively is already worth playing significant minutes. He has a smooth jumpshot and a great finisher around the basket. Ime wants/needs him to get better defensively. Once that light clicks on, we need to move Jalen and Tate for a backup 5, an off the ball SG that plays great defense, and a draft pick. Then we're cooking next year.
  9. I rewatched the Pac 12 Championship game late last night. Washington was clearly the better team and were very sound on both sides of the football. Dylan Johnson and the run blocking were solid. Their WRs are excellent. Penix played well outside of a couple of brain farts and one lucky break. Defense did a good job of making plays in front of them. Grubb called a good game and threw in some fun/smart wrinkles. What I couldn't remember until second viewing was just how shitty Will Stein's offense and Nix looked. I'm pretty sure Nix didn't throw a ball 10 yards past the LOS until their were 2 minutes left in the 1st half down 17-3 (it ended up being a 40 yard catch that eventually led to a TD). Very little to no misdirection, lots of 4-5 wide. RBs couldn't break a tackle. The Washington secondary was basically untested for the entire game outside of 3-4 throws. Just dumbfounding. Nix wasn't pressured that much, and just seemed very tight the whole time. I was completely unimpressed by his performance. Our first play in the Big 12 championship game - a misdirection throw back screen to RB - was more interesting than anything Oregon ran the entire game.
  10. Gotcha, sorry. I read through it pretty quickly. I have fun making video edits (with my very limited knowledge/skill) and will try to contribute more.
  11. Thanks for the thread and update, @immamac. I took a pretty significant break from here for a while. Personal stuff, raising a kid, Twitter, shitty Strong/Herman eras all contributed. But I'm back. Can I offer a suggestion re: Surly Twitter account? Take any popular or funny edits/photoshop/videos/gifs made on here and post on Twitter Surly account with a link to the thread where it originated. If you want to DM the authors for permission, go for it. But I'll tell you right now you can tweet out any edits I make. Any chance of going mini-viral can put more eyes on this site. Twitter has gone to complete shit and is on its last legs of usefulness for a lot of people. The changes they made to highlight paid blue check comments has killed conversation/discourse on there. Users will look for another outlet, including some younger people that are not familiar with Surly.
  12. Wonder how much A&M paid Kill to retire so they could hype Elko has the "best Aggie HC" in college football. In all seriousness, happy trails, Jerry.
  13. What makes Aggies "special" is that they are completely insulated from the outside sports world. Most people like sports and have a favorite team. Aggies just like A&M, the actual sport doesn't interest them much. Even with the invention of the internet, they still want to be that untouched tribe on North Sentinel Island or whatever. "Ignorance is bliss" should be trademarked in College Station.
  14. I don't believe Kern is an EE. We have a freshman Punter from Atascosita on the roster backing up Sanborn this year. Also I believe Will Stone can punt as well.
  15. During his signing day PC, Sark said new guy was best punter in the country and made it sound like he’s the man from Day 1 next year
