  1. I wrote this on the Aggie thread, but I'll add it here. I don't think a team that has already lost twice to a playoff team should be allowed in the playoff. I believe the SEC is in some sort of weird transition to its final form, but if we lose to Georgia, it seems that they've established the hierarchy. Should we both make the playoffs and if Texas were to beat Georgia, it would be very odd for the winner of 2 of 3 to come out on the shit end of the stick. I'd take it, but it just doesn't seem right. FWIW, I believe we beat Georgia this time, so it won't be an issue. Still, somebody should give this a look. Hell, until six days ago, the fucking Texas Aggies were in the hunt at 8-3 including 2 SEC losses. Absurd.
  2. Five possessions starting inside our 40. Three times held to field goals. All of their points with under 200 yards of offense. They created the turnovers and all of that, but it sure feels anomalous. It will be a different game tomorrow. They may win, but I don't expect to be like last time. I'm very happy to play them again. I will add this dark note: nobody should make the playoff that has already lost twice to another team in the playoffs. The system needs to be tweaked or the SEC needs to be tweaked to lessen the possibility of that happening. Beat them dawgs!
  3. Clearly none of you read down far enough to see this zinging retort that makes the Aggies look really good: Even if he were correct, I'm not sure what his point is.
  4. Fart huffing and loving it: The world sees you as an 8-3 team barely ranked in the top-25. In short, a pretty good year for a middling team. You see yourselves as SEC championship contenders with a shot of winning the national championship. Even after losing convincingly, some Aggies say that their bizarre position to maybe still make the championship game should be considered a good year as they re-write history and claim they generally viewed 8-4 as a good season back in August. Childe Graham's final point is the most telling. "Hey, Georgia did it, so we can, too!" They leaned so hard into the flukish way they were at the top of the standings for the SEC, that they see themselves as near champions even after losing their last three SEC games including two games that were complete dominations. Not all of them leaned so hard into the fiction, but anyone who objected was shouted down and accused of being without testes. They'll always have their manly manfulness to see them through these tough and injust times.
  5. This is a common phrase that the parrots have convinced themselves is true. One can hardly count last year's playoff effort as irrelevant, so let's start the clock at 2023. Two decades back? 2003. Yes, those dreary years that only included one national championship, one national championship loss, and another near miss at the national championship game. Years that A&M cannot match taking the best seasons of their entire history. They also like to assume that they were somehow relevant during those same years. Never played for or won a conference. Their only shining moment was an electrifying Johnny Manziel (he was fun to watch) who turned out to be an embarrassment to them later.
  6. They must make sense of a world where virtue, toughness, and all things good can be defeated so consistently by evil. On a level playing field, they could never be defeated. Why would God allow that? It must be Satan thwarting them. They look for the obvious manifestations, and there they are. The Parrot default for characterizing talent acquisition is that A&M recruits while Texas buys. Why else would anyone choose not to be an Aggie? There's a ring and a code of honor and everything!
  7. The young man on the phone was very helpful. I have such peace of mind, now.
  8. Nobody's signed yet?!?!?!?!? We won't have any players! ETA:
  9. He's got the Stephen McGee eyebrows. Could be trouble.
  10. That was me he threatened. It's all true. I'm very chastised and grateful for his mercy.
  11. I just say it's about DL recruiting. I could just as easily say it's concern about Global Warming or a dog running across the yard. A man must keep his dignity. ETA: Boy, was I late with this.
  12. I think his unbiased neighbor must fuck with him all the time. Texas kicked your ass, still, it's impressive how close you kept it. Thanks, man. I thought so, too.
  13. Not really, William. Ya'll were dining off of the phrase "on top of the SEC" and the gutty victory over the Bowling Green Seniors. Ask any geologist: 1 Now, William, is it or isn't it the QB change? You don't think Moss and Daniels benefitted from the threat of Reed? 2 Other issues? The Tigers are a comparable team to the dog-ass Aggies. Like Mizzou, this victory was not what you wanted to believe it was. The below sounds like the culture they were celebrating in the summer when the guys were lifting weights, throwing footballs, showing up at practice (!), and putting on their jerseys correctly. Really specific stuff there. Every team does those things or has those things. They're football teams. Impressive! Future's bright, though! Portal Dreams: Gonna be great!
  14. I fully agree on keeping CR in CR. However, I thought the original post was another example of how homogenized the Aggies are regarding politics and how it naturally bleeds into their football posts. There, nobody objects because, as in all things, they all agree. Clones. Mebbe I'm wrong, though.
  15. The annual butt-fucking metaphors would be a little awkward.
  16. He looks a little like General Custer. Ol' Sarge looks like he's already running away. Ivy League all the way!
  17. It is impossible to overestimate the value of that patch on their uniforms to A&M. It was the only thing that made them "stand alone." It's something just as superfluous as all of their idiotic traditions and beliefs that they are really really really special. ETA: The mascot is actually a Comanche rather than a Seminole. Comanches rode horses (brillilantly) and were unique in fighting with the lance. Neither is true of Seminoles.
  18. Plus, this crappy group of assistants is the best he could do last year. Who would he be able to attract who is any better anyway? Didn't one of his hires decide to go back to Florida and Napier? Ouch.
  19. Their most brilliant examples of brilliance: Bravo, sir. Bravo! A constant mid-field line of scrimmage should be attainable as part of your facilities. Hit that portal hard in this new NIL Era! No shit, Sherlock. I believe that they've won the Big 12 championship virtually every year since they left. Why give up such a good run? Interesting distinction. It's neither jealousy nor blaming others if, delusionally, you're blaming others and claiming they receive special treatment. Aggie dark humor including some irony slips in when things look like shit. They're not all idiots over there. And irony! I laughed. Oh, sure you did./No shit. One posrep for a dry, concise, summary of the difference. I wonder if this guy was forced to be an Aggie through family tradition and indoctrination. Maybe he/she went to UT grad school. There are 7 SEC teams above you in the national rankings: The glass is half-full. (Don't ask what's in it.) No? Yes! Flashes! It all looked like a coast to the championship (natty!) after handling the seniors from Bowling Green and shellacking a top ten Missouri squad! I think you were LSU's only loss this season! No fool's gold here!
  20. I was curious. That recruiting class where the Texas donors bailed out Sark was the 2022 class. I believe that means that the Aggies did more bailing for Jimbo than we did for Sark. Who is better at bailing? Poor Aggies.
