Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread
RomaVicta replied to texifornia's topic in 🤫$9.95🤫
I could tag-team with Mr @Longhornfrenzy all week. Thanks for the fodder! The Genius Corner of TexAgs: The killer is a fucking genius and one of the great parrots of our day!: Just be Georgia and the Dodgers! Be smart and spend wisely! Hit the portal hard and get great players! Nothing gets by the Cobra: Fucking Oregon, again. You're not in their league, dumbasses. Welcome to Genius Corner: Slapped down (again) by mildly sane Ags: Back to the parrots of Genius Corner: Texas will be loathed like Bama or Georgia or whomever has spent time as top dog. It's not a moral jihad, it's the healthy resentment of the strong towards the stronger. There's respect mixed into that. Not everybody in the SEC is a dickrider. They'll get their wins against us, those other strong programs. We'll get ours. The mediocre will rise up from time to time. The Aggies will be stuck in their idiotic moral jihad. Soylent Green is vodka! I wonder what a person like this sees when he mentions the portal and then uses it as a verb. Another Soylent post: The Texas Toxic Longhorns bitchslapping everybody like they do A&M. Or, just maybe, only the Aggies see it this way. Suddenly, clarity: -

This covers so much stuff that I decided to just leave out any examples. In the posts, so many of them talk about Oregon as though the Ducks aspire to be the Aggies. A couple of Aggies pointed out Oregon's far higher level of success, but it didn't take. -

Aggie PTSD We warned them! Soylent Green is people! Hmmmm... Annnnd, when was it exactly that the Aggies were winning? Honor stil exists for those who choose to pursue it in College Station. Sanders is probably paying A&M to go play for the Mumu-ing Elk. Birth of an Aggie Fact: Remember how they hate Sliced Bread or whatever bakery item-named guy that outed them? After countless parrots talk about the importance of talent evaluation, we get this: Sherman's player talent gave them their best SEC year. What the fuck is this guy talking about? Good point: We like that Texans pull for the Longhorns no matter if they went here or not. It's a public university not a cult. -
Championship Weekend Preview: Barking at Children
RomaVicta replied to texifornia's topic in Football
The championship is about team qualification not conference numbers qualification. Apply your logic to the Aggies. If they're number two in the conference by virtue of losing to Georgia (should A&M have beaten us), does that really qualify an 8-4, unranked team getting into the playoff? I'm just spitballing. The chance of the conditions that I mention being met are likely to be rare. I suppose a better analogy for what you're suggesting would be the NCAA BB Tournament. I'd argue that football is not the same, but I'm not that interested in defending this hill. I just thinks it's undeniably at least odd that Georgia could beat us twice (or the other way around had we won the first one, maybe) and then have to beat us three out of three to prove they're better. I won't boycott the playoffs if we lose and still get in. I will recognize a championship should we win it because it would be by the rules of this year. -

Championship Weekend Preview: Barking at Children
RomaVicta replied to texifornia's topic in Football
I wrote this on the Aggie thread, but I'll add it here. I don't think a team that has already lost twice to a playoff team should be allowed in the playoff. I believe the SEC is in some sort of weird transition to its final form, but if we lose to Georgia, it seems that they've established the hierarchy. Should we both make the playoffs and if Texas were to beat Georgia, it would be very odd for the winner of 2 of 3 to come out on the shit end of the stick. I'd take it, but it just doesn't seem right. FWIW, I believe we beat Georgia this time, so it won't be an issue. Still, somebody should give this a look. Hell, until six days ago, the fucking Texas Aggies were in the hunt at 8-3 including 2 SEC losses. Absurd. -
Five possessions starting inside our 40. Three times held to field goals. All of their points with under 200 yards of offense. They created the turnovers and all of that, but it sure feels anomalous. It will be a different game tomorrow. They may win, but I don't expect to be like last time. I'm very happy to play them again. I will add this dark note: nobody should make the playoff that has already lost twice to another team in the playoffs. The system needs to be tweaked or the SEC needs to be tweaked to lessen the possibility of that happening. Beat them dawgs!

Clearly none of you read down far enough to see this zinging retort that makes the Aggies look really good: Even if he were correct, I'm not sure what his point is.
-
Fart huffing and loving it: The world sees you as an 8-3 team barely ranked in the top-25. In short, a pretty good year for a middling team. You see yourselves as SEC championship contenders with a shot of winning the national championship. Even after losing convincingly, some Aggies say that their bizarre position to maybe still make the championship game should be considered a good year as they re-write history and claim they generally viewed 8-4 as a good season back in August. Childe Graham's final point is the most telling. "Hey, Georgia did it, so we can, too!" They leaned so hard into the flukish way they were at the top of the standings for the SEC, that they see themselves as near champions even after losing their last three SEC games including two games that were complete dominations. Not all of them leaned so hard into the fiction, but anyone who objected was shouted down and accused of being without testes. They'll always have their manly manfulness to see them through these tough and injust times.

This is a common phrase that the parrots have convinced themselves is true. One can hardly count last year's playoff effort as irrelevant, so let's start the clock at 2023. Two decades back? 2003. Yes, those dreary years that only included one national championship, one national championship loss, and another near miss at the national championship game. Years that A&M cannot match taking the best seasons of their entire history. They also like to assume that they were somehow relevant during those same years. Never played for or won a conference. Their only shining moment was an electrifying Johnny Manziel (he was fun to watch) who turned out to be an embarrassment to them later. -

They must make sense of a world where virtue, toughness, and all things good can be defeated so consistently by evil. On a level playing field, they could never be defeated. Why would God allow that? It must be Satan thwarting them. They look for the obvious manifestations, and there they are. The Parrot default for characterizing talent acquisition is that A&M recruits while Texas buys. Why else would anyone choose not to be an Aggie? There's a ring and a code of honor and everything! -

I just say it's about DL recruiting. I could just as easily say it's concern about Global Warming or a dog running across the yard. A man must keep his dignity. ETA: Boy, was I late with this. -

Not really, William. Ya'll were dining off of the phrase "on top of the SEC" and the gutty victory over the Bowling Green Seniors. Ask any geologist: 1 Now, William, is it or isn't it the QB change? You don't think Moss and Daniels benefitted from the threat of Reed? 2 Other issues? The Tigers are a comparable team to the dog-ass Aggies. Like Mizzou, this victory was not what you wanted to believe it was. The below sounds like the culture they were celebrating in the summer when the guys were lifting weights, throwing footballs, showing up at practice (!), and putting on their jerseys correctly. Really specific stuff there. Every team does those things or has those things. They're football teams. Impressive! Future's bright, though! Portal Dreams: Gonna be great! -

I fully agree on keeping CR in CR. However, I thought the original post was another example of how homogenized the Aggies are regarding politics and how it naturally bleeds into their football posts. There, nobody objects because, as in all things, they all agree. Clones. Mebbe I'm wrong, though.
