  1. We went to Bali for our honeymoon in September 2008. Weather in September is phenomenal. We stayed 3 nights at a beach resort which was a bit isolated / contained, which is great when you're newlyweds and spend a lot of time getting it on. I recommend doing day yours of the temples, elephant parks, etc. We moved up to Ubud for the next 3 days where there was nominally more things to do. If you are going to the monkey park with a handful of bananas, brace yourself. The sight of 30 monkeys charging you is pretty intimidating. Also. Wood penis carvings. Lots of wood penis carvings.
  2. Truth. The icemaker on the Samsung at the old house broke within 3 years. The Samsung we bought when we moved into the current house lasted 9 years before the compressor gave up the ghost. The Samsung front load washer died in 10 years. What's the common denominator? Me the idiot who keeps buying Samsung.
  3. Hellooooooooooooooo Deanna Troi (Who is the chick wearing rollerskates?) Actually, watch all of the videos at the bottom. All of them are fantastic.
  4. I need to learn that leg sweep move.
  5. I remember hurdling over a 3 YO lying on the floor so I could record a Phil Collins song. Her parents were horrified and I got in trouble from my parents.
  6. Who uses coupons? You must be poor. Let HEB merge with Trader Joe's just to be sure.
  7. Really looking forward to 10/10. I first played Battlefield in 2002 - 2003. Sometimes I’d stay in the office late because the internet was better and I could play on the projector screen. Does anyone remember the Battlefield 1942 Desert Combat mod? Since then, I’ve put thousands of hours into 2, 3, 4 (still playing in fact), 1 and recently 2042.
  8. Got my papers 10 years ago so don't need a golden visa. Unless you mean bringing in my super model girlfriend from one of the Baltic countries.
  9. As someone who's never seen the show... please expound.
  10. From that data point alone, the weight of the glacier on Antarctica is causing the earth to be squished in the N-S axis. If all that ice was equally distributed around the world, and making the assumption (for control reasons of course) that the continents have 250'H cliffs, then the planet would be a real sphere instead of a near sphere. Good lord!
  11. Wow, look at the big brain on Brad. Yes and yes to Pville, and yes and yes to you. And my coworker said 2 INCHES, not feet.
  12. It's been nice holding GOOG, AAPL and AMZN the past few days. Portfolio recovered the $70K, and now up another $150K. All paper money until I retire.
  13. Did you not read that last sentence about doing simple math after a long week and 3 whiskies?
  14. Or put on your earphones to play a video game.
  15. We were shooting the shit at an impromptu happy hour at the office. Somehow the conversation moved to global warming, and my science denying coworker harumphed and said global warming is a HOAX and scientists are pandering to the politicians for grant money so don't believe a word they say. He somehow got the idea that even if all the glaciers melted, the oceans would only raise about 2"!!! So we did what geeks do on a Friday night. We googled the data and did the math... Antarctic glacier area is 5,400,000 miles², with an average thickness of 1.4 miles, so 7,560,000 miles³ of ice. The area of all the oceans is 139,000,000 miles². So if the Antarctic glacier completely melted, sea levels would rise about 0.0544 miles, or ~287 feet My coworker, who honestly is a really nice guy until you bring up uhhh.... science, harumphed again and said you can't trust the data. Anyway. SCIENCE BITCHES!!! Also, doing simple math 3 whiskies in on a Friday night is harder than you think.
  16. Obviously you don't know California building code. Neither does he.
  17. 2005: Wendy's, Thundercloud, Wendy's, Thundercloud > Sitting on the can at work birthing a poop the size of a pepsi can. 2010: Peruvian fried chicken with amazing chili paste > Sitting on the can at 11AM, liquid squirting out my ass and puking into a trash can concurrently. Again at 1AM, 3AM, 6AM. Checking out of the hotel at 10AM, and promptly checking back in because of cramps and cold sweats. I lay in bed until our 5PM bus from Machu Pichu back to Cusco, and then held on to a barf bag for 3 hours on verge of throwing up any remaining stomach acid. That was probably the worst food poisoning I ever had. Second worst was after we had an amazing dinner on a beach in Bali (on our honeymoon).
  18. Getting to the final stages of negotiating a $675M construction project, and the Owner is asking us why we have an extra 20' of curb.
  19. Diarrhea from Peruvian street food is WAAAAAYYYY worse than the worst constipation from eating Wendy's and Thundercloud subs for an entire week.
  20. I think a tattoo sleeve on a woman look totally hot.
  21. Rum and coke Too much of that was drunk during high school.
  22. Aggy story, but with Bevo.
  23. Texas calculates tax on the difference between the new car and the trade in. California taxes the cost of the new car. I didn't know that... so I sat in the dealership with my spreadsheet haggling the $30/month. At 9PM, they finally relented and I drove away with the price I was willing to pay. Two ways to go about buying a car - walking away, or clear your schedule and be willing to grind them until the late hours.
  24. Saw a woman finish her drink and just dropped it on the ground. Another woman picked it up and put it back in the first woman's hang saying "You dropped this". Everyone saw this dropped their jaw and laughed while the first woman walked 3 more steps to put it into a trash can.
