  1. There should be a standardized signal using car horns and/or brights to tell a dumbass they need to turn on their lights at night. They should make that part of the written DL test. I blame stupid people. I also blame the interiors of modern cars being so bright that people think they’re exterior lights are on as well.
  2. Every small country and terrorist organization is taking notes… Was it in a Tom Clancy novel or elsewhere where the US wargamed a conflict with Iran. The general/admiral of the “aggressor group” completely whipped a carrier group using asymmetrical warfare - motorcycle couriers to communicate instead of radios, launching anti-ship missiles and waves after waves of small boats loaded with explosives. This was before flying and naval drones were even a spark in someone’s imagination. This is why I’m nervous about what’s going on in the ME. Narrow waterways without much room to maneuver, cheap anti-ship missiles, flying drones and naval drones, longish range artillery. It’s not IF a warship will be sunk, it’s WHEN Hopefully I’m just ignorant, but I hope the US armed forces are diversifying their weapons systems to not only combat conventional planes, tanks and missiles; but also against the smallest of targets because those are the ones that will fuck things up in a hurry if we’re not prepared.
  3. Yeah. Well maybe you should put on some pants. [neighbor] He was asking for it [/neighbor].
  4. I have a Nespresso Vertuo machine which is great for my purpose since the rest of the family doesn't drink coffee. The pods are expensive, but I've been refilling used pods with coffee and sealing then with foil lids that I buy off of Amazon. At the end of the week, it'll take me about 30 minutes to clean and refill the pods, all the time while watching a show. It's a nice way to wind down from the weekend and also saves a lot of money.
  5. It wasn't too long ago when BTS fans urged other fans to "sell out" Trump's rally in Oklahoma. Imagine the damage Taylor Swift can do if she mobilized her fans.
  6. Every computer mouse should come with a "back" button next to the thumb.
  7. We have chopsticks at home. But I prefer to eat with a folk or spoon. Or use them as dowels when I'm fixing cabinets. Or stakes when I'm designing my curvy flower beds. Or kindling. Or arrows when we make a mini-bow. Lots of uses for those cheap chopsticks. We just don't use them to eat.
  8. That's fucked up. Dude is good looking. He could have easily found another GF who didn't want to kill his cute kids.
  9. Does this remind anyone of the end of Rogue One when the Death Star nukes Scarif?
  10. What kind of coins are those? Benjamin Franklins? Looking through my remaining stash, the in the order of good looks, the Libertads take the cake, followed by Fuji Takis, Maples, then Silver Eagles. The Philharmonics are ugly.
  11. Just hope the leadership won't try to wag the dog and start something stupid to distract the masses from their internal issues.
  12. My wife works on several teams scattered across the world. She has 7AM meetings at least once a week. There have been 7PM calls, 11PM calls. Once her coworker in Singapore saw her online at 1AM, and asked if she could talk. To add to nnm, idiots who schedule 8AM meetings in LA or San Diego when I live in Orange County, about 45 and 85 miles away.
  13. Or sell his company to someone he hates (Soros or some tech billionaire) and have them make meeellions while he watches from his jail cell.
  14. Agree with this. 90% of the time I don't need plastic utensils, and they just end up in a bag (because we can't bring ourselves to toss them). I'd prefer they don't include it unless I specifically ask for it.
  15. I sent back a steak one time because it was overcooked (medium instead of medium rare). The replacement was rare. At that point, I just gave up and ate the damn thing instead of complaining. Some places will comp you if you don't like the food. I had dinner with my then GF at NXNW (not sure if it's still around). I ordered the duck, but it didn't taste like the deliciously fatty duck I imagined it to be. I asked the server if this was the duck, who then brough the manager to see how they could resolve the problem. They didn't need to, but they comped me the entree. I turned around and gave the server a FAT tip that would have covered my entree and then some. But yeah, I'm usually a chump as well.
  16. Went for a ride last weekend wearing a t-shirt. Now I get why people wear jerseys. Lots of wind resistance even though the t-shirt clearly shows my father figure. I bought a jersey and will wear it if the weather cooperates. Now... a dumb novice question. When you want to turn left on the street, do you got into the left turn lane with the cars? Or should I just go to an intersection, hit the pedestrian light to cross? I've never ridden on the road, and am intimidated by the traffic and cars. Does that fear gradually subside? There's a fantastic biking trail close to my house, but I have to make a few turns to get on it and back.
  17. Maybe he likes being the cage, or out of the cage. We may never know. And he doesn't give a shit if we know. Because honey badger don't care.
  18. What’s wrong with Cheesecake Factory? Their miso salmon is delicious. I went on plenty of coffee dates in the past. Spend $8 (at the time), see how things went, then either cut bait or transition to drinks, dinner, etc.
  19. 14,000,000,000 for 24 jets? That comes to $583M per plane. Seems expensive. Looking elsewhere, F-35As for the Air Force is < $100M. Higher for export models, but not anywhere close to $583M per unit.
  20. What does a near sighted gynecologist and a puppy have in common?
  21. Maybe the guy thought he had an in because he wore one of these?
  22. Because Texas pays them? Also to remind us how bad John Mackovic was?
