  1. I was terrified of sleestaks and afraid they could climb up the waterfall and come get me
  2. So reading between the lines, I'm guessing that you get mad as hell, and you're not gonna take it anymore. Yeah, I've been there. It's best to take a deep breath and walk away. I also ask tell my daughter to go to her room, and not to come out until she's ready to act calmly. She decides how long that's gonna take instead of me setting a time.
  3. A few jets dropping napalm along the trenches would be a good way to render them useless.
  4. No thanks. Talking amongst friends who've been married over 10 years, I guess I'm pretty lucky. In the past few weeks, we've made a couple of... uh videos. I was watching one last night before I went to bed, she came over, and it got her in the mood. So that was nice. We've talked about making a few more, and I'll be damn sure to watch those when she's around.
  5. This is how I want Putin to die... falling (out of a window)
  6. I used to think if you swallowed gum, it would somehow get in your abdomen and tangle all of your organs.
  7. And gnomes stole your underwear at night?
  8. There was a women riding her bicycle in a the middle of the road. It was dusk, she didn't have any lamps on her car, and she wasn't wearing a helmet. I guess this is a long way to say this hits close to home.
  9. How old are your kids? If they're still kinda young, then I'd recommend Love and Logic. Worked out okay for us when they were young, giving them choices for a lot of things, and also letting them fail from time to time. Start early if you can. My son grew up with us giving him choices throughout the day - stupid things like "Do you want to put on your left shoe first or right shoe?" "Do you want to eat your apple of have strawberries? Gave him a sense of control, so it was easier to say "daddy's gonna make a decision on this one." My daughter was already 4-5 when we read the book. Didn't work as well with her and she can be a little shit at times.
  10. God damnit. 2 more coworkers quit. One was for family reasons which I understand. The other is an exec for us. Him and I get along well even though he’s got an Eeyore, glass half empty, complains a lot personality. He gave good notice to our boss since he reports to her directly. I know he’s been grumbling for a while and I’ve been his advocate to get him a bigger raise, better car, better bonus, etc. A lot of his woes are driven by his own decisions but he somehow blames the company. I don’t know if he’ll be happy anywhere, but he does good work and I need him in light of us losing people a lot of people since June (our company turnover is around 20%!!!) Our division president called him and said he wouldn’t accept his resignation. They’re friends as well, so not sure how that’s going to go down. Anyway, I found out that that are offering him $190k base. I told my boss that that’s more than I make, and she mentioned that management has been proactively looking at adjusting my salary. I’ll believe it when I see a bigger paycheck.
  11. I don’t need to run faster than the wolves. I just need to run faster than you.
  12. So… what happens when the regime is overthrown? Where will all this energy go? Will there be a power vacuum? And who will fill it. I haven’t heard of any type of leader emerging and that is what’s making me nervous. Someone with a gun will take advantage of the chaos, and that person or group may not be any better than the current regime.
  13. How much do hammers cost in Iran? Because I would donate money so protestors can carry a few hammers and take out some police.
  14. Been a while since I’ve been on this thread. Nothing really interesting actually. But she DID say that me wanting sex 6-8 times per month is too much. Is that too much to ask? We’ve been together 16 years, married 14, she’ll be 45 in a few weeks. I don’t think I’m asking for too much.
  15. Call my surprised, but apparently I live in the 12th best city to live in the US. https://ktla.com/news/two-california-cities-named-best-places-to-live-for-families-in-the-u-s-by-fortune/amp/
  16. That concrete is shot. There was a recent accident (in CA) where a truck ended up burning under a bridge. They had to demolish the bridge, and they haven't rebuilt it yet. With bridges over water, they'll use post-tensioned precast concrete sections. They'll need to re-build the forms, which looks fairly complex, pour, and wait 7 days to stress the P-T. In short, there's no way in hell they're going to re-open the bridge within 2 weeks.
  17. Womp womp gifs couldn't be uploaded, but here's something just as good
  18. They are also "apparently" also advancing past Starlink coverage. Or is it Elon Musk being a turd. https://www.businessinsider.com/ukraine-spacex-starlink-outages-report-2022-10
  19. Still fewer than the shitheads who shoot up schools. This person has nothing on the Sandy Hook, Uvalde, Parkland, Columbine, _____ killers.
