  1. Eh, he had 4 years and managed 1 CCG appearance.. and we couldn't really bring him back after going all out for Urban. It's hard to say what would've happened if he had NIL money to throw around, but my guess is he'd still be good for at least 2-3 WTF losses every year. Not the guy, but yes, probably better than Mr. 7 Win.
  2. Herman's buyout was around $15M, which is roughly what we'll owe Sark after this season. You have to think he'll be gone if we go 5-7 again, right? Right???
  3. If you want to actually win anything of significance, you need both.
  4. He's not walking away from that contract.
  5. How long before they conduct an "internal investigation" and try to fire him for cause?
  6. Re-read the post I was responding to..
  7. Sark was a shiny new object, so he can't be fired. Same with Charlie and Herman. But all that really matters is recruiting. Just ask Jimbo.
  8. Sark was never the shiny new object. He was hired out of left field after we missed on Urban.
  9. So you think Jimbo's gonna turn it around too?
  10. Rhule is out there. Not quite Urban, but he's probably an 8/10 hire and would almost certainly take the job. Wonder how bad things need to get to make the ole switcheroo..
  11. UW use to shut down Leach's offense at WSU. Was it all Jimmy Lake? What's he up to these days?
  12. Charles Haley and Darren Woodson were pretty good though
  13. So if we get elite talent at every level of the defense, it might work?
  14. I felt the same. Hated the hire, and hated it even more up until the last couple weeks. And while I loved every second of 49-0, that OU team is probably worse than any of the shit teams we've fielded over the last 12 years. They're that pitiful. But maybe Sark is the guy. Two weeks ago I would've said no way in hell; now I'd say it's about 50/50. Not a sure thing like some people seem to think after last week, but things appear to be trending upwards. We should know by the end of the season.

    Rhule

I give him credit for turning things around at Temple and Baylor. He's shown he can walk into a complete shitshow and at least make them respectable. But I agree with others in this thread--he's not the sure-fire future Saban/Urban/Dabo that some people make him out to be.
  16. They're aggy. It's a low bar.
  17. Hopefully they add another 10 years to the extension.
  18. Best 3-3 team in the country.
  19. OU's proximity to Texas and DFW specifically will prevent them from completely falling off the map like Nebraska. As OP stated, they are basically where we were in Strong's first year--a gutted roster with an incompetent HC. They'll give Venables 2 or 3 years, and then start the process over again. However, it's a tougher rebuild than Texas; I doubt they'll still be able to pull top 10 classes after several seasons of mediocrity.
  20. Depends on how you define resurrect. Make them respectable? Or make them legit contenders? You need top 5 recruiting classes for the latter. I can't imagine that happening at Nebraska, unless they do something completely outside the box.
  21. 14-13 over Rutgers. Is Nebraska...back? On a serious note, they should just say fuck it and go after Deion. Laugh if you will, but he would immediately put them in the national spotlight for the first time in 20+ years. And recruits love the spotlight. It would be the ultimate high risk/high reward hire, but what do they have to lose at this point? Matt Campbell or Luke Fickell aren't resurrecting that program.
  22. Yeah, just sounds a lot better. I'll take 49-0 though.
  23. He was limping after recovering the botched snap. Didn't seem to affect him the rest of the game. Seems like he's just a guy that gets "hurt" a lot, but not necessarily "injured."
  24. No trophies for him to do that with.
