  1. New helmets and old logos look shitty together.
  2. They should follow the lead of the Texans and become the Washington DCers.
  3. That seems like the major key. (I know what IT is trying to say here, but this sentence made me chuckle.)
  4. Dartmouth, Air Force, and Tulane were recruiting him. Seems like a smart pickup.
  5. Only see little guys in that video. Let's hope the big guys are lifting weights.
  6. This "sentence" makes me want to stab my eyes with rusty forks. People get paid to post shit like this? Also, where are Jalen Brown Marion's highlights? I can't find them.
  7. That Pro Bowl kicker is no Tucker.
  8. Every year there's got to be a few decent WRs who are undervalued coming out of HS because they have a crappy QB and/or don't do the 7on7 circuit.
  9. I think he looks like a young Carl Perkins.
  10. He’s a football player who runs track, not a track guy who plays football.
  11. Parents missed an opportunity to name him Dane.
  12. Ringo is no Adrian Peterson. He got a championship. Good call.
  13. Staff to $9.95ers: Well, we can’t say we have no shot at this recruit, so we’ll just note that we remain optimistic and are working hard. $9.95ers: Texas feels strong about the recruit going into his announcement. Recruit: I’m going to another school. Surly: Stupid staff said we had him in the bag.
  14. The Killer Burger and the Old Sparky Burger from Mr. Hamburger in Huntsville are damn good. That place deserves to be a regional/national chain. Who wouldn’t want to eat burgers at a place influenced by prison and death sentences? (Did I mention they are really good burgers?)
  15. 1100 in 1979. Oddly, I hit 1200 on the GRE a few years later.
  16. Catherine Denouement was hot as fuck back in the day.
  17. You guys are looking at the burger tweet all wrong. It's a recruiting tweet. He's saying, "Come to Texas--we got cool shit here in Austin." Not many recruits know or care about local joints. Recruits east of the Mississippi have heard people talking about In-n-Out but never had a chance to try it. There's a mystery there, sort of like what was around Coors before they went national. Just watch "Smokey and the Bandit." Sure, when I drank my first Coors I realized it was crap, but the lure of Coors was intense before that first sip. That's what's being tapped into.
  18. I don't like it and I don't like it much the same way I don't like mushrooms. Just a visceral reaction to gross and oddly textured things.
  19. In fact, he's just a head. Sure, his lateral movement is suspect, but he's a true coach on the field.
  20. In no particular order, here are my Top 10: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance The Searchers Little Big Man High Noon The Wild Bunch The Magnificent Seven Rio Bravo The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly My Darling Clementine The Outlaw Josey Wales
  21. I was hoping Michigan would show up and we wouldn't have an SEC final. Oh well, I forgot it was Michigan.
  22. Good doc and good thread. Thanks for all the references and comments. On the Beatles/Stones productivity, don't sleep on The Who during their mid-late 20s: 1969: Tommy (double album) 1970: Live at Leeds 1971: Who's Next 1973: Quadrophenia (double album) Several singles between 1969 and 1973, including Substitute, The Seeker, Long Live Rock (released in 1974), Naked Eye, Heaven and Hell, Relay, Let's See Action, Join Together, Too Much of Anything, and I Don't Even Know Myself. That's the equivalent of seven single albums while they were doing a lot of touring too. What a crazy era of music.
