  1. Yes, keep blaming Democrats for Trump. Nevermind that he beat a field of 16 Republicans to even make it to the general election, but I bet you think Hillary Clinton had something to do with that. And, yes, places where people actually live, like those 480 counties, have issues that need addressing because people actually live there. Congrats to Trump on winning 2600 counties full of corn fields. Not a lot of homeless people living in corn fields. If you think Trump cares about anything other than lining his pockets with tax payer dollars you're an even bigger idiot than I previously took you for. Enjoy voting for Trump in 2020 while he loses to whichever of the 247 Democrats he ends up facing in the general.
  2. Yeah, that's the joke. The synopsis makes the shows sound exactly the same, but the shows couldn't be more different. In "Friends" Rachel runs into her high school friend after running out of her wedding, moves in with her, and her friend's brother is in love with her after divorcing his lesbian wife. Also, and most importantly, "Friends" was your typical multi-cam sitcom with the laughing studio audience standard sitcom. Happy Endings' pilot was two of the friends in the group getting married when the bride runs off with another man. The show goes into how their ruined relationship affects the dynamics of their group. It's also a single cam show with no audience or laugh track and super fast paced witty dialogue like 30 Rock.

    The National

This is where I'm at. Some of my favorite bands have female singers, old and new. But Matt's voice is the signature stamp of their sound. Occasional female harmonies would have been fine. But hearing half the songs with females singing lead makes this album my least favorite since probably their debut. Loving some of the songs like Not in Kansas, but this isn't an album I think I'll ever be able to listen to straight through from start to finish.
  4. I've always hated Georgia for costing us a national championship. I hate Georgia and their excuses for getting dick slapped by us because apparently "they didn't want to be there." You know, since Georgia is so used to always playing for national championships and all (eye roll). But I'll be damned if Herschel Walker won't always be one of my favorite non-UT players.
  5. I loved the movie. I loved season 1. I tried to convince myself that I loved season 2 when it aired, but looking back it really was a convoluted shit show that took itself way too seriously,
  6. I honestly don't get some of the hate in this thread. For me, this was the best sitcom since 30 Rock. It was possibly better. I get that the humor probably goes over the head of the Chuck Lorre crowd. I own the first two seasons on DVD, but the network didn't support the show enough to give it a proper season 3 DVD. If you look it up on Amazon or wherever you're paying for what's basically an overpriced bootlegged DVD of the show. So I bought the season on Amazon to just stream whenever I feel like watching it. Also, it's weird trying to explain one of my favorite shows to friends who've never seen it. Me: "So, yeah, it's basically a comedy about these six 20/30 something friends, 3 guys and 3 girls, who live in the city after a bride runs out on her wedding." Them: "Oh, you mean it's 'Friends'"? Me: "Ugh. No, it's not fucking "Friends."
  7. You guys are justifiably jaded by T3, Salvation, and Genisys. This one is going to kick ass. I'm calling it now. I only wish they'd go back to the spirit of the first Terminator and not T2. Terminator was a great, simple sci-fi horror flick. It was basically "It Follows" with a future cyborg instead of a STD demon.
  8. I've been trying to fast forward through life for a while now. Unfortunately, this shit is stuck in real time.
  9. Man, I hated Samwell Tarly's character on Game of Thrones. Fast forwarded through all his scenes. I'm sure it made the show better.
  10. I'm not disputing that it's not possible to fast forward through a scene, I'm saying you're either full of shit or an idiot to do so.
  11. I honestly don't believe the fast forwarding B.S. Even if you don't particularly care for her, you have no idea when she could say something completely pivitol that alters the course of the show. But feel free to watch only 20 minutes out of 25 minutes of a great show because you're not in love with one of the characters. There's been plenty of shows where I dislike certain characters. I've never once fast forwarded through their scenes because I want to see the show as it was intended.
  12. Looks great but you need to lift it about three to six inches to let everyone know that you're a bit insecure in your manhood.

    The National

The National are my favorite band and have been since "Trouble Will Find Me," but I'm not yet sold on the new compilation album of songs occasionally featuring Matt Berninger. Need a few more listens.
  14. I'm a huge fan of the idea of jeeps just from the looks and brand. Unfortunately, the only two I've had experience with were unreliable. My YJ had a number of issues with less than 85,000 miles. A family member has a 2015 Cherokee and has already had a transmission issue (luckily it was still under warranty). I agree with the 4runner. Toyotas are not only reliable but the 4runner, IMO, is one of the most rugged and best looking SUVs on the road.
  15. Damn, this reminds me I forgot to DVR the first of Klepper's new docu-series. He was IMO the best of the Trevor Noah era Daily Show news team.
  16. I was watching a recap on Youtube and this would have been the undisputed greatest show of all time had the fat man finished the books. Up until the Viper and the Mountain fight, this show was perfect TV. I still love the show, but it's a shell of its former self. Reminds me of how far Lost fell after season 3.
  17. Y'all should check out the bookfags thread if you haven't. There's no spoilers. They've had no idea what's going on for roughly 3 seasons now. They're just unnecessarily smug about it. There's one episode left and Lady Stoneheart ain't coming.
  18. "Take the loss, pussies" was the funniest thing when Sam said it to OU's QB. Unfortunately, TTomTerrific has ruined that phrase forever by repeating it 94568765 times in this thread and I fear he's not done. Maybe he doesn't remember he's already said it a couple dozen times. Who knows?
  19. If it's not Toby, Dunst, Kroeger, and Raimi it isn't cannon and I won't pretend to care.
  20. Eurohorn is maybe the most worthless poster on this site. He never has anything to add to a discussion, always just a drive-by GIF or comment. I negged him for one of his dumbbass comments last week and like a child he retaliated by going through my posting history and negging every comment he could.
  21. I apologize. I didn't listen to @hobbes2702 and allowed you to move the goalposts. We're not in the Donald Trump thread. We're in the Robert Mueller investigation thread, and that investigation did not exonerate Donald Trump to anyone that read the report. So please ignore my previous response.
  22. Real answer: My blood pressure has spiked about 15 to 20 points. But I'm a middle class straight white male whose ancestors have been on this continent since before it was an independent country. Most of Trump's bullshit doesn't affect me. Long term problems with Trump: * His economic accomplishments are built entirely on debt. We're running Obama level deficits, yet unlike then we're not in the midst of a recession. When the economy eventually stalls again as it always does, there will be nothing in the tank. * We're a joke to the world. Not a single decent world leader respects Trump. None. American hegemony over the western world has weakened under Trump's watch and most of our allies no longer trust us. Putin and Kim Jong Un respect Trump more than Macron or Trudeau. * We're paying welfare to farmers for a needless trade war built entirely on Trump's ego. * He's challenging executive authority at an unprecedented rate. His policy is basically "let's just do it, challenge the courts, and see what they come back with." * He actively embraces every anti-environmental policy he can support. This doesn't affect me, but my grandchildren. Sorry if you don't believe in climate change. Every person who is qualified disagrees. * He fills every federal agency position with sycophants, donors, and people who aren't qualified for the job, completely undermining the federal government. * He spends most of his time watching cable news, tweeting, or golfing, meaning he's ignoring his responsibilities he was elected for. This may or may not be a good thing. I haven't decided yet.
  23. I think Jimmyjazz has gone to bed, but it's still "you're." And of course you will. You will take Bill Barr, the guy who defended Republicans funding terrorists through drug traffickers, as well as Trump who allows and embraces Russian interference into American democratic elections while trusting their intelligence over our own. This difference is I will actually admit that Obama was flawed as a president and made mistakes. The difference between Obama's mistakes and Trump's is that Obama's mistakes actually had good intentions whereas Trump's motivations are completely self-serving and have further reaching consequences down the line. Trump, himself, hired Bolton and Pompeo. How many thousands of needless American deaths do you think they're responsible for compared to Fast and Furious?
  24. So what you're saying is that you basically don't believe in presidencies. You believe in Kings. Nevermind silly things like checks and balances. It's amazing Bill Clinton was ever impeached. Nobody told him all he had to do was fire everyone ever investigating him. You're putting your trust in Bill Barr, the guy who assisted in pardoning the criminals behind Iran-Contra and auditioned for his job for AG by writing a memo basically saying the POTUS is beyond reproach. I hope you enjoy the precedent your ilk is setting when it comes back to bite you in your myopic asses.
