  1. Ahem: La Liga de Fútbol Americano de México. Brewer seems a good fit for the Chihuahua Warlords -- he'd have Trent Richardson as a teammate -- and I think if Wiley develops a little more, he could be the Tony Gonzalez of the Jalisco Tequila Makers.
  2. I'd start Zach game 7 and only expect three but allow for more. Bring on Odo, Garcia and/or Urquidy for the next three and then turn it over to what has become a nasty bullpen.
  3. But how does California stack up against us in Bible-based colleges like Abilene Christian, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Wayland Baptist, Howard Payne, Hardin-Simmons and Mary Hardin - Baylor? More importantly I bet the football teams at all those schools would kick the shit out of California comps, if there are any, which I doubt, because they are all godless Marxiss communiss.
  4. Apparently hated condoms as much as masks -- had six kids (one deceased) and three stepkids. At 48, he already had five grandkids.
  5. Turns out he was traveling. I knew there had to be some compelling reason he didn't come dance on our grave. (His track record with predictions is Helobious level too.)
  6. Y'all aren't seeing the possibilities here. That Soviet-ass tower block will breed depression even faster than chlamydia. Depression leads to suicide. Suicide of roommate = automatic Straight A's So just try to find the mopiest looking people for your little suite, kick back, and enjoy California.
  7. I have a frenemy who is the Helobious of Georgia. Grew up in Savannah but is a Yankees fan and not via family connections. Every year he comes chirping on my Facebook page about the cheating Astros and when I set him straight, he goes away in a huff saying it's impossible to argue with someone who won't just, I don't know....renounce the Astros? Delete my social media accounts in shame? And of course he just ignores me when I ask him what's up with the sealed letter and remind him how Carlos Beltran taught us how to cheat the Yankee Way. That's when he takes his ball and goes home....and then when things look bad for the Astros he pops back up again, but somehow he managed not to tonight. He must have been in jail or the ER because there is no way in hell this dude could have resisted taunting me after the grand slam... PS: Before they moved to LA, when this guy would invite my wife and me to dinner at his house, he would say "would you two like to come dine with us?" Yes, "dine." And he says his favorite sport is "Fußball." Not soccer, or futbol, or football with a tiresome lecture about how soccer is not its real name. Fuckin "Fußball." No, just as he is not from New York, neither is he German. I think he just likes the German national team because it's part of his front-running nature. The sonofabitch can cook his ass off, though, and he has this supersexy little Indian wife who is way, way out of his league. (For those of you wondering why I put up with this douche.)
  8. Dabo is proving himself to be a notch below Urban and Saban. He is in the "Needs an elite QB to win" category with Jimbo, Chizik, Coach O, and Mack. He just had two of them in a row.
  9. Since @Dr. Beeper / Rex doesn't seem too eager to answer that question, I'll answer it for him:
  10. I think Coach Traylor would know that....Maybe Sark doesn't.
  11. We should recruit the fuck out of the Golden Triangle. Nobody emerges from that scene a pussy. James Brown Roschon Earl Thomas Jamaal Shane Dronett Just off the top of my head.
  12. *your an idoit Well, when you have a guy who's 6'4", you could do that. Overshown can make plays at safety at 215-220. Or you could but 40 pounds of muscle on him and make him a DE. We spun two RBs down to DT and they wound up in the NFL. Yes, they were bigger when they started the spin-down, but they ended up bigger than Overshown would need to be at DE. Overshown arrived on campus at 6'4, 217. I'll give you three guesses to name me a guy who came to Texas at 6'3", 218. When you arrive at the right answer, you will once more reveal yourself to be the angry moron that you are.
  13. I want to see it, but I just don't with Overshown, and I believe he's playing out of position in the middle of the field. He's too rangy to be getting jammed up with centers and guards...He reminds me of Andrew Kelson, and luckily we had Aaron Harris (who was only above average, really) so guys like him (and later Malik) didn't have to play what amounts to MLB. His highlight reel is pretty skimpy -- coming into this season, it's just five plays. Two sacks, one of which saw him come untouched through the line and the other a matador block. Three picks on badly thrown balls -- he does make good plays on the ball in some of those. I hate writing people off as tweeners especially when they are as athletic as he is, and also when they are great people, but he seems like a tweener. Either you let him stay at safety or you go the no half measures route and spin him all the way down to DE.
  14. I learned most of my fundamentals in backyard football. Coaches are there to channel that to fit plays and schemes....I would be tempted to say kids just aren't playing enough backyard tackle these days, and I don't think they are, but I don't think that's only in Texas by a long shot.
  15. Getting out to all these leads makes me believe our front-line talent is better than it seems. Blowing games late like this is suggestive of not having any depth whatsoever.
  16. The reason is, starting Card would lead to hideous blowouts. He's nowhere near as savvy or athletic as Casey, which is not to say Casey is a Brady/VY hybrid. He would be a decent QB on a good team whose coaches built to his strengths.
  17. Well yeah he drives me nuts when he has first-down-plus ahead of him and instead tucking and running he rolls the dice on our shitty receivers. And some of those drops were drivekillers and even game-changers. Sark's anti-runinng QB doctrine might be to blame and if he's not willing to change that just because it's not part of his precious offensive philosophy, I take back all the nice things I've said about him and I say fire him at the end of this year. No coach should lock in on "their offense" if the tools you have on don't work on it. You can't build a cathedral out of cinder blocks, or public toilets out of pink granite. You work with what you have, and I am far from convinced Sark is doing that. Few do -- they just keep trying to cram square pegs in to round holes until their seat gets hot.
  18. How many crucial passes did our WRs drop today? It's not all on Casey.
  19. Except Mackovic left behind: Ricky Williams Shaun Rogers and Casey Hampton Major Applewhite Kwame Cavil and Wane McGarity. Leonard Davis, a future first-round draft pick and Cowboys OT. Quentin Jammer, a member of the San Diego Chargers All 50th Anniversary team. D.D. Lewis, a decent NFL linebacker and one of the best LBs Texas has had since the early 1980s. (To his credit, Brown moved him there from running back.) Hodges Mitchell, still one of UT’s top ten leading rushers. Which is pretty close to what Royal left Akers. What Herman left Sark is not comparable, aside from a possible Heisman RB. Which is a big "aside," but our DTs are not Hampton & Rogers, Overshown is not DD Lewis, there is no Leonard Davis on the OL, I don't think either Casey or Card are Major-level, and we don't have an consensus All American CB like Jammer. So if what you mean is Mackovic is like Herman II in that he was a shitty coach and a raging asshole, you're right. But the fact is Mackovic blew Herman's, and Strong's, and late Mack's, recruiting completely out of the water. I am really curious as to who we think from Herman's recruits aside from Bijan has even a second-contract type NFL career in him.
  20. Ron Watkin's run for Congress, analyzed. (AZ-1. I would say he didn't have a chance to get out of the primary, but his opponents are two military badass types who mightr cancel each other out. (Decorated army combat vet vs Navy SEAL who makes and sells "badass" bottle openers shaped like .50 cal bullets.)
  21. We are going to win. Cuban power. https://youtu.be/8fDbRjqM0ig?t=215
  22. They did blaze the trail in flag design for quasi-socialist North African and Middle Eastern petro-states. Just replace the white bar with green.
  23. The thing about it is, south of the Nueces and north of the Rio is not Texas and it isn't Mexico either. Stuff that works there won't work anywhere else.
