  1. One but not both -- every conference has a token private so that some of their financials cannot be FOIA'd. Or something like that. There is a reason the SWC kept Rice, the SEC Vandy, the PAC Stanford, the Big 12 kept Baylor, and so on. The Big 8 did not have one; not sure why that is.
  2. I am now a balcony only Mardi Gras person. Instead of consorting with the riffraff on equal terms, I choose to lob trinkets to the rabble in exchange for small sexual favors.
  3. 30 straight weekends would be worse for her if she is an actual working realator. (I misspelled it, refused to capitalize it, and decline to add the ® on purpose because that shit is wack-wiggety-wack. And I think Jenna might be in that group who pronounces it realator anyway.)
  4. After the Great White fire, my friends and I vowed we would never go see some show to people watch or out of curiosity or whatever, because it would be recorded forever nd ever that you died in the terrible Molly Hatchet tragedy in Beaumont, Texas or something like that. People would be like "Oh that is so sad...but what the fuck was he doing at a Molly Hatchet show in Beaumont?"
  5. I heard that from a sugar baby -- that was a line she rejected as the worst ever. Not that she doesn't love cocaine and fucking.
  6. "Aaaaay I got some co-caine. Let's go out to my truck and fuck."
  7. Jesus, it seems so. The victim, Fred Harris, weighed 98 pounds. Crazy lost Black street kid who carried a karaoke mike around with him. Ownby, the killer, is about 240. These stories don't reveal that the dead kid pulled a knife on a White kid a while back -- hence his time in jail. They also stress that he didn't have a record, but he was barely old enough to have one in any event. He might have been a tremendous psycho in juvy....or that White kid he tried to stab might have been connected. If I am Ownby's lawyer I'd probably try to say Harris produced the shank and Ownby took it from him. Or Ownby might just be a really sick fuck....I have these memories of my son berating him through his headset for continually fucking up on Call of Duty and shit like that....The dude was a clod but I guess I should count myself lucky he didn't wig out on my kid or anyone else in their clique.
  8. Slipping a few illicit scrips back and forth to grease the skids
  9. I feel for y'all in Dallas proper, I really do...Y'all need to coordinate regionwide and create one single northern 'burb to herd them all into so they can be monitored and perhaps turned against each other. Give them quasi-freedom, similar to a tribal nation, and partially revoke their US citizenship. They must get Q Passports and pay to leave their little lunatic nation for their jobs here. Or maybe they will just all sell each other real estate constantly.
  10. Pretty cool prison flick but the plot is kinda preposterous....These two Shaggy One Percenter type couples go out to dinner to celebrate closing some big deal and they give in and reluctantly order that second bottle of wine....and of course hubs, barely legally drunk, gets in a wreck on the way home and kills the other couple in the process....He refuses to cut a deal and winds up in the Big House for five or ten years and the next thing you know he's jumped in to the Aryan Brotherhood, and then...no spoilers. It seemed ridiculous to me at the time, but this kind of seems to be playing out IRL with this kid my son knew in HS in Bellaire a few years ago....They weren't close but close enough to where I at least remembered the kid's name...He was always a little touched in the head...Anyway, since HS he's been busted for increasingly serious crimes (he appears to be mentally ill) and a few days ago he got sentenced to two years in prison. Almost immediately he assaulted a jailer in the county....And a couple of days he stomped, beat, and shanked an inmate to death at the same facility. He's a really big dude so if you are imagining some little middle class shrimp going psycho as a preemptive strike, I don't think that was the case. The murder seems to have a racial aspect to it, and was planned in some way, seeing as he had a shank. So it seems the kid is well on his way to success at something....Looks like he's racked up two teardrops before he even hits the pen. It's kind of amazing -- this kid grew up in Bellaire, and my son's clique were not little thugs or anything like that -- just your basic pot smoking video game loving slacker / laxbro crowd. Any of y'all seen something like this with kids your kids know?
  11. At the Janet Jackson Super Bowl, the NFL put the Patriots up at a swanky Galleria hotel (The InterContinental, now rebranded in some upmarket chain) and stuck the Panthers at the Wyndham Greenspoint, now re-branded as some off-brand joint. As an AFC host city, that was the second time Houston dicked the NFC over. At the Dolphins-Vikings Super Bowl, Miami got to use the Oilers practice facility and the the poor Vikings were relegated to fucking Delmar Stadium. (If you don't know, that's one of HISD's battered old stadiums which by January had probably been the scene of 150 games in the past three months. Playing there late in the year is like playing in a parking lot, and the facilities were like a poorly run prison. Bud Grant told the media it was worse than most junior high facilities all the way around.)
  12. There is this one pic taken at Mar-A-Lago in '96 If you can remember the NY media back in 1996, one or both of those dudes was in every other picture that made it out of there. Not quite Kardashian level but similar -- everybody knew who JFK Jr was even though he hadn't really done anything of note but win the daddy lottery, slay high class East Coast pussy by the yachtload, and run a mediocre Vanity Fair-type magazine. He had a charmed life. I think this was around the time Trump was bottoming out -- long before The Apprentice doomed us to his big comeback. By this time he was more famous for being famous and as a shill than any kind of real dealmaker. They were both famous for being famous and those kinds of people tend to have their pictures taken a lot, apart and together... But these idiots have allowed this one pic to spawn an entire branch of the Q faith. One sort of encouraging thing is that there are many sects already in the Q religion -- some of them think the whole JFK Jr thing is as crazy as it seems to normal people. We can but hope that they might descend into savage internecine warfare, as we sometimes see from Shia vs Sunni and Catholics vs Protestants.
  13. lulz^ That this guy has drawn out the repressed sympathies from some of us is puzzling....Are we sure it sucks for his kids?. I am betting that he was not the best role model out there given what appears to be full body tats AND -- AND THIS IS KEY -- that Deadman Inc. shirt he's rocking in one of those pics. No, that is not some metal band -- Deadman Incorporated is a Mid-Atlantic based White prison gang founded by "White Mike" types from B-More who allied themselves originally with the Black Guerrilla Family, so hey, I guess they are not racists, right? Well, not at first, but since they have gotten more powerful, they is an internal war about whether to go full racist or remain the Black Guerrilla Family's errand boys in their own squabbles within their own ranks, vs other Black gangs, and MS-13, which is kinda surprisingly strong on the East Coast. So this is dad to six (on an independent trucker's salary and time at home) and grand-dad to five more already before he's 50 is prima facie a defiant moron who allows himself to be photographed in prison gang T-shirts when he is almost 50 years old. I am betting these are some of the few pics the family could find where he is not flipping off the camera. Something tells me at least some of that progeny -- probably the ones that could be worth a shit -- might be glad this fucker is dead. It's not always a tragedy when parents die.
  14. You might as well ask why would anyone want to live in a city (where a car is necessary, unlike NYC etc) because it's the same everywhere. I have come to believe life in a city where a car is necessary kinda sucks, for this reason among others, including expenses and hassles. We have too many halfass cities that still cling to suburban ideals of yards and zoning and shit transit when a city should be compact enough to live in car-free. Needing a car becomes a hidden cost you have to add to paying high rent to live in a cool neighborhood of somewhere like Houston, LA, Dallas or Austin, where that isn't the case in truly walkable cities. And again you don't have to worry about winos and crackheads smashing your window to steal a gym bag full of nothing but sweaty clothes.
  15. My las year in Houston (2019-2020) my car got rummaged through three or four times. I lost only pocket change and a $20 Bluetooth speaker.
  16. I wonder if this passes James Franklin's eyeball test for assistants' wives, or if the monkey makes it too much, no matter how hot she is....Like hiring an OC who runs a gimmicky offense.
  17. Poor form at handswaying to praise music and bad prayer technique. Weak selection of Bible verses tweeted.
  18. Lol I moved that far and much more -- 20 miles northwest of Freeport on the San Bernard.
  19. I grew up deep inside the Loop and I can assure you it kinda sucked from a crime standpoint much more recently than that. 25 years ago it just started to turn around.
  20. That's like 80 years of relevance you are just writing off like nothing.
  21. How about meeellyuns of fake windows as here, on the Harris County Jail?
  22. Given that you have called me variations of the biggest moron on these boards for years now, I am sure it will bring you no joy when I tell you I agree with this 1000 percent. And I also agree with some of your other takes. I guess every nemesis is more alike than they'd care to admit, because I am not extending an olive branch here. I think many of your other opinions are butt-dumb and your manners are very poor. OU made the bold "who gives a fuck about what the neighbors will think" decision to elevate an unproven OC to head coach. Despite a constant diet of bags of dicks, that hire left the program while still near the top and with, fuck, I hate to even type this: class and grace, and by that time, he could elevate another unproven OC to his old position and few questioned his wisdom in doing so. Our guy was dragged out of there kicking and screaming with his dick out of his pants pissing in all directions and only after he'd completely destroyed the program he built in the first two-thirds of his tenure. In retrospect I wish he'd had three more years to wallow in the shit he'd piled up all around him and was continuing to amass with absolutely horrific recruiting classes. But since then we've made insecure coaching decisions snce -- the same kind of hires all the other cool kids make. And that is hopefully what will happen when we finally do hire Traylor in three or four years, but by then we would have endured an unprecedented 15-year-run of near-complete suckitude, one worse than '84-'97 for lack of conference championships, a Shock the Nation season, Roll Left, and occasional years-long mastery over the gooners (but tempered or negated by losing to aggy almost every fucking year). If Traylor slips away, all bets are off. Maybe there's another one out there like him but if not, if we keep on with these same kinds of hires, we will end up (if we haven't already) as Tennessee Southwest.
