  1. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-military/2019/07/01/defense-department-to-ban-beer-and-pizza-mandatory-keto-diet-may-enhance-military-performance/ The controversial ketogenic or “keto” diet may be the future of the military, some defense officials say. Service members, and Navy SEALS especially, may have to forgo beer and burritos for skinny cocktails and avocado salad (forget the tortilla chips) if a proposal from Special Operations Command gains momentum. While a nutritionally enhanced future could eventually be put into effect for all branches, the SEALS and other underwater dive-mission specialists might be the first groups targeted for the change in nutritional guidelines. Lisa Sanders, the director of science and technology at U.S. Special Operations Command, presented an Ohio State University study that recommends the nutritional change based on the keto diet, which is high in fat and low in carbohydrates. The diet works to deprive the body of glucose needed for energy and forces it to burn stored fats instead. The study was conducted on the university’s Army ROTC cadet population. “One of the effects of truly being in ketosis is that it changes the way your body handles oxygen deprivation, so you can actually stay underwater at depths for longer periods of time and not go into oxygen seizures,” Sanders said at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference in May. Discussion of new dietary guidelines for service members comes at a time of growing concern about obesity in the military and its potential threat to readiness.
  2. Well there is that whole food pyramid thing...
  3. Getting off of a corn based "food" supply and legalizing marijuana would solve an incredible amount of what ails this country.

  5. Yes I know but it's better to spell how just how fucked up their sense of their intelligence, place in the world, safety, etc. really is.
  6. Obviously more use means more maintenance but like most machines isn't it better to use them regularly than sparingly?
  7. Only if it involves large amounts of logs, heavy machinery, and alcohol.
  8. As is the case with journalists and technical topics they usually screw up whatever they are talking about. Also I believe Taylor sold out to some asian company a decade ago.
  9. I didn't realize LSU needed help on how to pay players.
  10. Why? All carbs are sugar anyway. That's the number you should be focused on. And those DV %s are all BS anyway.
  11. Sugar is a subset of carbs on food labels. I'm not sure where you are going with this specific point.

  13. "I think the science is still out on that." I really hope this is a joke. Any type of carb is sugar. It's amazing what passes for food these days.
  14. Not that it would qualify probably but is Dallas nite club still open? Used to be a good cougar hunting spot back in the day.
  15. She likes the temperature, just doesn't like the air blowing on her. Why us that so hard to understand? It's a corollary to the crank the ac down to 68 and lay under a blanket on the couch maneuver.
  16. Would you sayr she represents 0.0001% of the minority?
  17. Govmint do take a bite dont she?
  18. Like anything is poisonous if you have too much of it. No data on acute inhalation toxicity are available on which to base the IDLH for nicotine.
  19. How is it poisonous?
  20. Its amazing how candidates get disqualified. Once a narrative gains traction it's all over no matter the merit.
  21. Imagine if we had any semblance of a kick off coverage.
  22. Where are you seeing it in 4k?
  23. Do they still sell honey? That's easily 50k per annum.
  24. A sad day. What is left of old Austin?
