  1. No, but I'm pretty certain he asked for a courtesy flush.
  2. Fell into this black hole out of boredom the other day. Interesting character who happens to interview multitudes of interesting characters during his reviews. Only genuine takeaway I have is: seems like one can't walk a block without passing a good to great or even spectacular pizzeria on the East Coast. The stuff Dave hands a 6.4 out to would be a 9.9 here in Idaho. Same goes for cheesesteaks, subs, roast beefs, knishes ... fahgeddaboudit. The Gem State has a great deal many things going for it, but a food utopia it is not. Everybody knows the rules.
  3. Fuck a straight red, that should be a lifetime red.

Pepi's goal came on a PK and I couldn't find a highlight of it. Here is Balogun's (you'll have to click through):
  5. Ah, yes, back in the day when a "forward pass" meant telling a lady she had nice headlights and you wanted to see them.
  6. This implied disrespect to the Quan will not stand.

I see Sepulveda was cautioned. Assuming it was for that play. If I'm the ref, however, that's a straight red, as he's not even trying to play soccer.

It's practically unfair to dominate a team as much as the US did to Oman in the first half ... and then bring in a pair of high-energy guys like Aaronson and Pepi for the next 45.

Fantastic first half from the US. Fast, decisive, positive and creative. Unfortunate to have only scored once. And just as good, relentless pressure from the Nats to win the ball after a shot or turnover. Possession split (67/33) was similar against Uzbekistan, but much of that was meaningless. Very impressed with what the team is showing right now. EDIT: Uzbekistan leads El Tri, 2-1, with about 20 minutes left to play in a friendly in Atlanta.
  10. Only for Satan. You misspelled Saban. Or did you?
  11. To be fair, I would greet Kevin Durant very differently than some nameless (to me) assistant.
  12. On the other hand, I know of a new dad who is raising his son right: to be a Longhorns fan _and_ a Cowboys fan. Father of the year material right there.
  13. It's 40-0 with barely 3 minutes to play. I'd say his coaches definitely don't like him.
  14. DEUCE! And to his credit, he still openly admits this.
  15. Agreed. Should be time to cut the Deuce loose.
  16. Probably explains why his coaches are trying to get him killed with these playcalls. Maybe they see that as their only hope.
  17. This applies not only to sports, but practically all pursuits. Business, politics, finance, music, movies, etc. Admire them for their success and relentless ambition, but realize that most are probably sociopaths and not people one should emulate.

  19. Put some mustard on that touchdown!!!
  20. They're thinking, "Either he's a big Texas fan, or he's under the influence of strong narcotics." Either way, they're on to you.
  21. We saw him develop in one game. Remember that fourth-and-2 late in the third quarter? Brooks should've picked it up, but his pad level wasn't low enough and he got turned and then stopped. On that third-and-2 on the game's final drive, however, Brooks lowered his pads and helmet--he was not going to be denied! This is obviously not an awesome run-blocking offensive line, so Texas will need what Brooks showed in the fourth quarter each and every game if it's going to have an effective ground game.
