  1. And despite there being a literal convention hall full of good guys with guns, they're banning guns from the NRA convention. The right will not see the irony.
  2. I can't wait to hear what Abbott's plans are to stop these shootings in the future. I'm sure it's going to be great and not at all similar to doing nothing until people lose interest again.
  3. Well, a small correction. Many places, like Texas, have made it easier to get guns since Sandy Hook. So that's a notable change.
  4. This kid has some good looking film. He's a very physical blocker with plus athleticism... nice looking player.
  5. From the men's bathroom to fired pool boy to millionaire... a totally believable underdog story.
  6. Agreed, he likely can't be a full time EDGE guy. Still, we don't have a single player on the team who can get to the QB that we know of so... he's still pretty fucking valuable to us.
  7. Susan Collins would vote for this, however, the problem is you need 60 votes to pass it, or you need to set aside the filibuster for this specific issue. That's highly unlikely to happen.
  8. This ruling will also endanger other things as well. It was based on the concept of a Constitutional Right to Privacy... ie, to conduct your affairs as you see fit. That is an implied right, and is not explicitly in the Constitution. There are a string of important rights based upon this, not just abortion. The landmark case is Griswold vs. Connecticut - which legalized access to contraception for married couples The ruling in that case was used as the precedent for: Eisenstadt v. Baird - which legalized access to contraception for anyone Loving v. Virginia - which legalized interracial marriage Roe v. Wade - which legalized abortion Lawrence v. Texas - which legalized gay sex Obergefell v. Hodges - which legalized gay marriage Banning the above is a wet dream for the extremely far right, which is largely, now just the right. And yes, interracial marriage was brought up as perhaps not rightly decided by a Republican recently.
  9. Roberts has no one to blame but himself. He's completely lost control of the court. He had the chance to stop this multiple times when he was the swing vote, but he was too much of a pussy. Now the other 5 don't need his vote and can do whatever they want. He can't be the moderate conservative\deciding force anymore. He's helpless. SCOTUS will effectively be an arm of the GOP for the foreseeable future, unless a conservative justice dies before the midterm elections. They might show some restraint on some issues, but the GOP is going to get all of their big ticket items done most likely. And that was the whole point of this decades long process of capturing control of the judiciary. The GOP thinks and plans ahead dozens of years. And the Democrats can't figure out how to shepherd their herd of cats on any given day.
  10. It's going to be overturned. It looks like SCOTUS is going to allow each state to decide, instead of banning it nationwide. When the GOP is back in power, likely in 2024 unless this ignites some kind of voter uprising, they'll ban it nationwide. In the meantime, is SCOTUS going to allow states to regulate medical procedures performed in other states becomes the immediate question. Will they allow the jailing of a woman who has an abortion after the time limit in her own state, even if she is within the legal time limit in the state where the abortion is performed? Will they allow family members of the father to sue the woman who has an abortion? Will they allow the lawsuits against anyone who helps the woman? It seems like 5 of them are open to these ideas. So while abortion may be technically legal for a couple of years, SCOTUS will likely allow these types of counter measures to stay in place, effectively banning the practice in any red state.
  11. So will whiffing on Mathis cause us to overpay for Land? I mean, we're pretty fucking desperate and it's too late to recruit someone to the portal who isn't a grad transfer. We're pretty fucked if we don't get Land. Odds of a late grad transfer hitting the market seem... low.
  12. I think Disu is looking at big minutes if he's healthy. Askew was actively being recruited over.
  13. No more Nata Lee. Fuck Putin. I found a Ukrainian model. Glory to Ukraine.
  14. 6' 1" with a 16.9% career 3pt shot... perfect fit.

That should shut them up. It won't, but it should.
  17. That Sean Mitchell WVU guy is a mediocre FG shooter. Barely 40% from the field and 36.8% from 3pt range. He's a great FT shooter, but he doesn't rebound, he doesn't get assists, he's not an efficient or prolific scorer. Is he a bad ass defender? I don't get the appeal.
