  1. That is defiantly one of the important functions of religious ritual to humans. If there is something very important we discover as humans, its the most effective way to keep replication of the knowledge exact over generations and avoid a ‘telephone” game of reduced information over time. If you make the information a religious ritual that has ties to all of your ancestors, people will worship the information and replicate it as precisely as possible. Take the Samuri Sword in Japan. To this day traditional sword smiths treat the steps to making the swords as a Shinto ritual so things are replicated precisely over 600 years. The lessons for a happy life and functional society have been given the same importance by humanity and the threat of punishment is more a function to make sure the information is given respect, followed and exact.
  2. this is going to sound so fucked up, but moose would be a real money making TikTok
  3. Im sorry, I must have missed this guy. Is he any good?
  4. But they got a trophy without a date…
  5. First time I rode one was pure joy. I will never forget it.
  6. wait, this is Louisville? she got both those blue eyes and you got yourself a deal
  7. Let’s not mistake money with security. Sure, you want to have enough to be reasonably comfortable, but I’ve happened to have known many people with incredible wealth and I can say with all certainty that tragedy doesn’t care how much money you’ve got.
  8. The is analogous to a guy standing on the beach shaking his fist at an 80’ Tsunami as the cliff face of water closes in.
  9. They don’t know enough yet. They will.
  10. Narrator: He stood there calmly, a cigarette in his lips. “No blindfold.” he said…
  11. It takes a while for knowledge to turn to wisdom, but there is a lot of peace sometimes when that happens
  12. Woah, it most certainly isn’t. Recognizing what people who are trying to gobble up power are doing is what is important. No one is paying any real attention, everyone literally turns the light off when you start talking about church. And if the did care, who’s going to do anything? Scientology acts the way they do became they can. What everyone can mostly agree on is that religion offers some people something sometimes and that en mass it has good aspects and bad. One of the historical bad aspects of religion is its ability to grant legitimacy of power and thereby control of entire kingdoms and Empires. This is truly a hijacking and just like a hijacking on a bus or plane, now it involves all of us like it or not.
  13. Fuck yes! This thread. My step dad in WA lived up in central-ish Alaska for 20yrs and has some amazing photos like yours. Good stuff man, thanks for sharing
  14. They don’t, they are separate. Religious houses offer beacons for people with a common spirituality. By hi-jacking the houses, people looking for power have been able to hijack a lot of Americans spirituality.
  15. Oh yeah. Shits going to get good. There is some serious power going to shift over the next 2-3 seasons. Also, since you now have a legal payment mechanism in place, I would imagine that would open up avenues in the future for some type of litigation for people who are doing things illegally
  16. Kill everyone until the happy people are left, duh.
  17. Man, you shouldn’t. Spirituality is a huge part of peoples happiness, and while it would be best to put the debate of Gods existence on mute, the fact that our faiths have been weaponized in our all our politicians grab for power is fucking depressing.
  18. The US is built on constant want. That’s not really great for internal balance and peace.
  19. Money, power, sex, big house, trips, fancy watch, slick customized cars, drugs that shit is all just fun and one of the most tucked up thing about being a human is that having fun won’t make you happy. for instance, go buy a new Ferrari spider and drive that shit with the top down along the coast after your kid dies, see if it works. humans have actually been really worried about this proble for about 12k years and I think Americans pursue what they think/told will make them happy rather than what actually will
