  1. Fox deal estimates: Yeesh, that is pricey. Maybe the Spurs can work their magic and fix his 3pt shot, that would make this a lot better.
  2. Don't be surprised when ICE starts acting on behalf of Texas in the name of "Law and Order" to abduct and deliver some of these reps to Austin...
  3. Wow, that Fox extension is expensive. I thought he would give the Spurs a discount, since he wanted to go there and made that his trade destination. They have a lot of guards to work with, but figuring out the balance is going to be difficult.
  4. Because he is actually accessible and talks to people about lots of different topics, so he has made a lot of friends in the media. I think he gets a lot of friendly coverage from that, plus he's been a successful GM for his career. Lots of GMs avoid anything other than the interviews they are legally obligated to do and are mostly unknown outside of boring press conferences.
  5. For comparison, those 60,000 clean energy jobs currently in Texas are significantly more valuable, environmentally friendly and safer than the entirety of the 42,000 coal miner jobs that exist in the entire US. Coal is a very small industry compared to the rest of the energy market, but it has an outsized voice in politics for other reasons. It should be a national goal to get rid of entirely as an energy source, as it naturally gets replaced with green energy technologies that are constantly making gains in efficiency and cost. The next Dem president should ban exports of coal and essentially cut the balls off the industry to all but remove it from the field. Even other fossil fuels are preferable to coal for energy generation.
  6. Yeah the only way that happens, and it absolutely should happen, is if Congress passes a new Voting Rights act and SCOTUS upholds it. Not happening for quite some time, so in the mean time they gotta play the game. I think there are a lot more seats to be gained by Dems in Blue states than what the Rs can squeeze out of their states.
  7. I kinda hope we see Texas move forward with this effort, because I think the Republicans will fuck it up and not gain the 5 seats as promised. Trump won't be on the ballot in 26, and lots of independents don't like this version of him. I think the Rs may be putting other seats in jeopardy that they assume are safe, and this could lead to a some upheaval in the state reps currently in power. It wouldn't be the worst thing if that happened even if the numbers slightly change. More importantly, this nakedly obvious illegal and unethical power grab will give several blue states the motivation and reason to do the same, in a way that will be a huge net positive for the Dems seats in Congress. They have to fight fire with fire, and if they actually believe their warnings of "losing democracy forever" are true, then they need to occupy every seat possible to prevent it. California can definitely squeeze a few Rs out of power, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, etc could all pick up a few more seats. If they all do it, it would result in a seismic shift that could prevent the House from turning red for another decade. The only reason Mike Johnson is even in power is because so many red and purple states have already done what Texas is threatening. So fuck them, fuck playing fair and doing the right thing, moral victories are for losers. Go win the damn thing and start blocking the dumb shit this administration spews out. Fight dirty, fight clean, whatever it takes, just actually fucking fight it.
  8. Does she honestly have a chance of winning it?
  9. So how much money did he lose due to the trade? Wasn't he eligible for something like 5 years and 320 million with Dallas?
  10. Meanwhile the NFL this season is launching ball tracking technology to know exactly where to spot the ball on every play. They can get it down to the frame of the video to know exactly when the player is down and where the ball is at that point. No more stupid outdated chains to measure it, which can lead to human errors. And that only matters a few times in a football game, as opposed to questionable pitches near the edge of the zone, which are much more frequent in baseball.
  11. He's not gonna benefit much from the change of venue, but not a bad spray chart for Daikin.
  12. AND 2 more years of club control after this one? WOW, that is pretty great.
  13. I doubt it's the full 30m. Everyone knows that's a bad contract. If the Twins eat 10-15m of it each year, that would be a fair deal to take on the rest. After all, the Astros were the only team he would lift his NTC for, so they were over a barrel on this one. Happy to have him back, I hope he is reinvigorated by coming to a club with playoff hopes and a positive outlook!
  14. He's good, but he's not Korey Lee good.
  15. According to ESPN, this is the Astro's top 10 prospect list:
  16. Not exactly but close...
  17. Maybe he let himself go because Nico didn't love him enough.
  18. I assume they will have her testify against anyone they can who isn't willing to send a few million in crypto to Donald's virtual slush fund. Some people with real deep pockets out there should expect a shakedown.
  19. What's really sad is that when a leopard does eat someone's face in Curtis and they survive, they won't have a hospital to help them recover.
  20. Then fucking change the plan Joe!!! Wtf are you thinking?? You don't have the luxury of starting a caboose full of turds right now. Need some hitters to hit. Let Altuve DH and Cam play RF. Cam is barely old enough to drink, he can wait a few weeks for an off day.
  21. Maybe something that says, "I'm not mad, just disappointed."? I'm partial to this one
  22. I agree with the sentiment, but the people that like Trump believe him when he said he stopped being friends with Epstein in the mid 2000's after the arrest. He didn't want anything to do with him, etc etc. So he was just oblivious to Jeff's evil doings and he's a good guy and wouldn't do anything like that! They love Trump so much, that they believe everything he tells them, like the election was stolen, and ties to Russia was a hoax, and so on. That's why he went with the "this is a hoax" trick with Epstein, which worked for some of his more hard headed supporters, but clearly isn't the higher level magical spell it has been in the past. Hopefully the truth will come out and enough of them will turn on him to make him toxic to the Republicans and radioactive to keep supporting.
  23. Teams can't poison pill a contract any more, and the value of the APY is what's tallied in a trade now. Also, most teams are running with zero cap space, so the few that do have space would be tying up 15-20m in free agent money to Tari, while the Rockets can easily match it after several days. Kuminga didn't even get a free agent offer as an RFA this offseason because of it. Best to sign a 1 year QO and hit the market as a free agent to maximize money, unless the team is willing to give you a big long term deal. I think it's great for the Rockets to have that flexibility and see what he can do this year.
