  1. On her face and in use. I'm guessing that was why she said she could see.
  2. I'm not sure if I can write this post without laughing hysterically, crying a little, or running screaming from the building, but I'm going to try. Mrs. Mudcat has a tendency to take off her glasses and leave them on a table by where she is sitting if she's reading, crocheting, or whatever, so her saying "I can't find my glasses - can you help me?" is not a unique thing. Saturday afternoon, I'm in my office doing some work, and I hear from the other room "I can't find my glasses - can you help me?". I get up from my desk, and we have a little fire drill looking for her glasses. I'm searching the living room, dining room, spare bedroom, office, bathrooms, kitchen, our room - nothing. Trying to make her feel better about losing her glasses, I say "let me find them. I know when I lose mine, I can't find them either. You take a break." Keep I still haven't looked at her, because I've been in the other rooms. She replies, "I can see without my glasses, just not far away". That's not even the slightest bit true. We'll just leave it at that. So, I go through another fire drill looking all around the house for the glasses. Still nothing. I hear her in the kitchen looking in the refrigerator for something to drink. I say, "OH - I SEE YOU'VE FOUND YOUR GLASSES!" She replies, "No, where are they?" "They're on your face." "Oh." SMDH.
  3. I'm really liking the Kansas State alternates. And fuck the cockroaches.
  4. Trout's the best player in baseball. No doubt. He's the Mickey Mantle of this generation, before Mickey got hurt and old. But...this particular award is about value. I stated my opinion, yours is different. I have no quarrel with somebody who thinks Trout is a great player.
  5. Gotta go with Bregman. Can't pick Trout. He's missed too much time and his team wasn't good with or without him. How valuable was he really?
  6. Cole and Verlander are both lights out right now, but I have to go with Cole. Slightly better numbers.
  7. We went to the football game this last Saturday night. We sat in the upper deck and enjoyed a nice cool breeze for most of the game. Actually pleasant weather, which I was not expecting. During the 4th quarter, my wife and I decided to head to the concession stand to grab a couple of drinks and a pretzel. We took the opportunity to sit in some chairs right by the concession stand, relax a little and watch the game on the concession stand monitor. About halfway through the pretzel, she looks at me and says "I wish it wasn't so windy up here. It seems like the wind has really picked up". 3 feet to her left was a giant fan, blowing straight on us.
  8. I haven't gone back and rewatched the game yet, but from what I saw the first time, LSU in general and Burrow in particular, are very, very good. If they continue to play at that level, lots of people are going to have a hard time slowing them down. That being said, the shouldn't be any question which of the two teams had the best DBs. Ours got exposed. Green and Boyce were just bad. Even Sterns was not able to play up to his usual level. I'm starting to really like our linebackers. Ossai is special, or at least has a chance to be special. Pretty good run plugging on Saturday, too. Roach was good, and I have to tell you, every team should have a 350-pound man named "Sweat" manning the middle.
  9. Missed it, and missed it bad. Solidly in the middle of the pack.
  10. I just started watching this at my wife's insistence. Pretty addictive.
  11. Let me see if I can help... She was in Houston for two days. Successfully took the dog with her. She came back to Austin and successfully let the dog in the house. Let the other dog outside. Went to the bathroom. Let the other dog inside. Little dog did not come in with the big dog, mainly because she was never outside to begin with. Wife freaked out. Little dog was later found to be in the house, as she was all along. I can see why you'd ask if she forgot the dog in Houston. That could definitely happen.
  12. Yeah, that would have been better.
  13. This one takes the fur-lined jockey cap. Wife had gone to Houston to work on cleaning out her mom's house and took the dog with her. While there, she scheduled a dinner for last night with our kids and another family. We're supposed to meet at the restaurant in Austin at 8:00. Her plan is to leave Houston early enough to get home, change clothes, and ride with us to the restaurant. I knew without a doubt this was not going to happen. As is typical, she's late. I get a text that she'll be in Austin at 7:30 and will meet us at the restaurant at 8:00. I know that's not going to happen, either. Kids and I go to the restaurant. We're there at 8:00. I get a call at 8:30 with wife totally freaked out. She got home and has lost the dog. Swears the dog got out of the back yard. She's driving around the neighborhood looking for the dog, knocking on neighbor's doors, etc. She can't find the dog anywhere and tells me she's not coming to the restaurant. OK, cool. I then get the most amazing phone call of my life. Seriously. She pulls up in the driveway after not being able to find the little dog. She's crushed. Anytime we pull up in the driveway, the little dog starts yapping, happy we're home I guess. Guess what happens this time? Yep, you got it - little dog starts yapping. From inside the house. DOG HAD BEEN INSIDE THE HOUSE THE WHOLE TIME. WIfe comes to restaurant, and being a good husband, I have a plate of food and a giant margarita waiting for her.
  14. Mrs. Mudcat is at it again. We're in the process of selling her mom's house in Houston, so she goes down there frequently. She always, and I mean ALWAYS, forgets something. As she was leaving this time, I followed her out to the car. Dog? Check. Paperwork? Check. Leash? Check. Phone? Check. Ipad? Check. Charger? Check. Suitcase? Check. I'm thinking she's good to go. I'm wrong. She forgot the keys to the house. $120 later, she's in.
  15. Yeah, I know. I play music on the side and took a gig for that night. My fault.
  16. I won't be in the stands for either the La Tech or LSU games. I cheaped out and only bought a mini-plan, don't get to attend until OSU. Really wanted to see the opener, but I think LHN can help me out with that.
  17. I have 9 - 3 in the regular season, with the 10th win coming in the bowl game.
  18. My wife joined the club this week. No adverse reaction to food, just waited too long to go. SMDH.
  19. 270? Geez, dude - mix in a salad. You just ate your way out of the league.
  20. I'm not even going to add any backstory on this one. My wife left a bottle of Advil in the toaster. Yes, you read that right. She then made toast for several days in a row. The plastic bottle melted onto the rack. I had to break it off with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. All good now.
  21. I evidently have a magic phone in my car. Yesterday, the wife and I were driving back to Austin. We were in separate cars. While driving, she calls me from her car and tells me "I left my phone back at the house". No, you didn't, because the car uses the cell phone. The car is just the interface, the phone is the phone. I *think* I got her to believe me, but I'm still not sure. In any case, the phone was in her purse. SMDH.
