Yeah, but you'd rather lay pipe than most anything else.

Most men would. Followed by a sammich, preferably.

Considering you're wearing an arm sling and ONLY an arm sling, I understand them giving you space and expediting your exit.

Why don’t they just make the plane larger?

It’s true

I've been on a few "standing" flights on Chinese airlines for last-second internal flights to get to hastily planned meetings. They're not bad at all for short flights, and frankly, if you have bad knees, they can be better than the shittastic economy seats on most planes, so long as the flight is 3 hours or less. If you get claustrophobic, though, it's a nightmare. The planes themselves (cast off Boeings that the U.S. deemed unfit for flight but the Chinese were more than happy to use) were way more troubling than the seats, or the Matrix slop inspired food service.

This is 100% what budget airlines should start doing for short domestic flights in the U.S., imo. Cram the poors in there and get them where they need to go. Don't let them get too comfortable, recline, take their shoes off, etc.

Is there a shame section for the extra poor people to stand or are they vulturing the aisle just standing there like zombies? Cause I draw the line at some fat ass' ass in my face the entire 1-3 hours.

nah, still too much unused space. shareholders should be demanding something like this

And they would charge extra for lie-flat seats.

I assume Jet Blue would be willing to consider this suggestion.

The standing sections I utilized were just shoulder to shoulder, with a small fold down seat so you're not really supporting your own weight. More of a slight lean. Most Americans wouldn't be able to even shimmy down to their space, so it won't be happening here. From an efficiency standpoint, it seemed to work pretty well for a large population of relatively thin people who need to get around. I didn't mind it when I had to do it, although those were times I was booking last-minute flights and had no other options.

I'm not sure this is an appropriate analogy to be running with, but if it's how you feel, it's how you feel.

People with limited means still need to get around. The standing seats work pretty damn well for short flights. They're every bit as comfortable, if not more so, than economy seats on current U.S. based planes. They won't work for all the fat asses in our country, though.

If shareholders were smart, they would demand airlines reduce the number of seats on planes, make them more comfortable, and double the prices. It would increase revenue and lower costs. We're headed the other direction for whatever reason.
