If the ball hits you in the hands you are supposed to catch it.  Wingo currently requires a perfectly throne ball to make the catch. Arch ain't perfect by any means, but there were plenty of catchable balls our guys weren't coming up with yesterday.

If you’re going to talk about that crosser that “hit him in the hands” I’m gonna call Bullshit.

even greasy WRs will drop passes 3 feet behind them when they’re running full sprint the opposite way.  Y’all expect too much of him and ignore how poorly the QB throws that ball.

We're 6 games in and Wingo is 24/320/4. I wouldn't say he "sucks". He's not Jeremiah Smith, that's absurd. He's more in line with Ryan Williams this year.

For comparison Smith is 49/602/7

Williams is 26/423/3

Only Smith really stands out here.

I actually disagree about our WR's not being good. We just have a terrible QB who can't get it to them. But when he does make an accurate throw, 9/10 they catch it. We need better QB play.

I’ll be honest and admit I came to that conclusion because of comments during games from even the commentators that the receivers can’t get separation and I’ve heard this literally every game so I’m assuming they’re seeing this first hand from the booth.  Which is why I’d love to see some film breakdown on here showing what’s going on.

When the OL is not blocking anyone, your throws are rushed. Arch looked amazing with much better OL play last year and he sucked when the OL didn't hold against UGA. It's hard to draw a conclusion on how good or bad Arch will be in college when you have virtually no OL. These big humans are confused and letting a free rusher or two by on every down. Fix the OL first because no other QB is going to light it up with this OL.

And let me add I guarantee if we saw film we would see that it’s everything and something different every play. One play it might be the receivers can’t get separation and arch has nowhere to go with the ball then it will be arch misses a wide open wr downfield and then the next play it will be the o-line folds up in 2 seconds and he gets obliterated. So basically the offense is a huge clusterfuck.

When did he look amazing last year? Seriously?

Yea id love someone to show some film breakdown like we used to get on here from a wide angle so we can see wtf is happening. Do we run complex wr routes? Are we slow af or something? I think we know the o-line blows so what’s the deal? I would lean to the captain obvious answer of it’s all of the above?

what poster used to make those video breakdowns each week that really helped some(like me) not bitch as much after seeing slow motion film of our offense and defense.

Love his videos.

Can we stop talking about Arch last year as if it has any fucking relevance to the piece of shit product we’re seeing this year?

I just wanna know what they are talking about. Are they really talking about the sacrificial lambs we played leading up to playing real opponents as evidence?

It's relevant for at least three reasons.  First, his performance last year helped form and establish the expectations that he's not meeting this year.  Second, his performance last year indicates he can be far more accurate than he has been this season.  Some of his misses when given time and a clean pocket have been absolutely headscratching this season, particularly given the absence of similarly bad misfires in his limited playing time last season.  Finally, his performance last year behind a different line and with different receivers supports the proposition that he has it in him to be a proficient FBS QB if the current line starts blocking better, he cleans up his accuracy issues, the run game gets cranked up, etc.

So while I understand that how Arch performed last season doesn't change the fact that he's been anywhere from meh to downright bad this season, his performance in '24 does have some relevance to what we're talking about now.

I agree, so I went and looked at the numbers and posted comparisons of top WR's (names everyone knows), and Wingo is more in line with Ryan Williams this year, while Bryant Wesco, Jr. is complimentary to Smith.

Wingo - 24/320/4

Livingstone - 15/308/3

Ryan Williams - 26/423/3

TJ Moore (Clem) - 26/407/3

Anotnio Williams (Clem) - 23/225/0

--------------------------------------

Smith - 49/602/7

Wesco, Jr - 31/537/6

As you can see, you need both a good (not great) QB and a good (not great) WR to put up those numbers. Wingo and Livingstons are doing a lot of work for Manning. They have 7 of his 12 TD's.

Smith and Wesco, Jr. are outliers because they're built different (not physically, but mentally). Smith, regardless of who is their QB is going to look outstanding. Wesco has only had Klubnik, but he's doing a lot of work.

Arch has 114/189 for 12 TD's and 5 INT'S for a QBR of 58.6 (75th in the country)

Klubnik has 133/202 for 11 TD's and 5 INT'S for a QBR of 62 (68th in the country).

Not a whole lot is separating the two other than one has Wesco, Jr while the other has Wingo.

So, as of game 6, I would put Wingo with TJ Moore and Ryan Williams in production, which is not bad but not outstanding like the two aforementioned.

So how does his experience last year show this year? I’m not seeing much correlation here. But sure, let’s keep talking about last year because it’s definitely helping him be one of the worst p4 QBs.

saban had tua on the bench. tua was saban’s future. everyone on our bench is there in case arch physically cannot play. arch is sark’s future. giving up on arch would mean giving up on everything sark has been building for years and starting from scratch. also, y’all don’t think we get crushed in the portal if sark gives up on arch this quickly? you don’t think we see a mass exodus of talent plus some serious negative recruiting against us? this is why coaches are coaches and fans are fans. fans always want to hit the self destruct button whenever things don’t immediately materialize the way they wanted them to.

In some cases fans are right.  Have you seen how Sark's offense has performed?

I'm not sure what your first sentence is asking.  But your second sentence kind of hits on the problem, i.e., that the potential and ability Arch showed last season hasn't been realized at all this season.  In fact, in certain areas there has been regression, not merely a failure to realize potential.

If you can't see why people on this board are referencing last season's performance as a reason for the depth of disappointment in his play (and the offense's performance in general) this season or as a reason for thinking that his performance in '25 could improve if the O-line starts blocking better and the run game starts being effective, then I can't help you.  I tried to explain it.

Don't be fucking obtuse.

26/31 for 325 yards and 2 TD plus another on the ground.

You realize Miss St won two games last year right, and neither was a p4 win? They didn't win a conference game at all. If you watch the Georgia video you see exactly what you are seeing this year. Im not being obtuse. I just dont give a lot of weight to tomato cans.

Very rarely.  I understand the frustration with the offense though. Pretty inexcusable given the resources at this place.

Give it up Burnt. None of these dudes learned their lesson from the Mack Brown days where we hung 60 on UNT and everyone was chest bumping until OU hung 60 on us. They seem to think what we looked like vs teams that could barely win a game all season hold any merit for how we played vs anyone with a pulse.

comes off the bench for one 4th down play, drags his nuts all over a&m’s defense, breaks a tackle, shows incredible balance and athleticism in staying in bounds, tricks his way into the end zone for a huge TD. you don’t remember this?

this is such a wild assertion to begin with. like we all weren’t jumping for joy when he improvised for that TD vs CSU? like we all just stayed seated on the couch and yawned when he sprinted for a 50-something yard TD and turned around and taunted the DB’s who couldn’t catch him? as if at no point during his 18 for 21, 5 TD game did he look kinda awesome. seriously?

you’s a hater.

Checks notes. UTSA, ULM, and MSU. A combined 14-23 on the season and 0-11 vs P4 teams. But keep fucking that chicken. Whats funny is I tried to warn you Derka. Some of us saw this coming. Some of us were seeing the holding of the ball. Errant passes. Inability to play inside the structure of the offense. But we were touted as haters. We even brought receipts in the form of video and was accused of putting together "lowlights". I was dead right about Arch Derka but now we wanna blame every damn thing under the sun in order to not have to own up. Its he changed his mechanics. Then its the play calling. Its the line. Its every damn thing under the sun but him. Caldwell comes in and gets the ball out. No sack or pressure. Arch comes right back in and is running for his life. You guys just refuse to take ownership of being wrong. We will probably light Miss St up again and everyone here will proclaim the ship lighted. Rinse and repeat. But you do you. Carry on.
