Best inexpensive sunglasses?

Recommended Posts

I wear/break/lose a lot of sunglasses for work. What I do when I begrudgingly have to buy a new pair is I head to the sporting goods fishing section of a Walmart. Fishing sunglasses are highly functional and of medium quality. Expect to pay between $15-$20 for a pair. I've learned to stay away from the ones that do not totally encapsulate and support the lens. These tend to drop out with heavy use. Ugly Stik is a brand off the top of my head.

Then go to the Vision Center up front and buy a box of these...you're welcome.

2nd the Wal Mart fishing. I was about to go on a multi month trip to Asia. Didn't want to lose good glasses, found some "Berkley" branded polarized glasses on closeout for $5. That was 2014, I still have them. Careful though, was recently in a Wal Mart, saw some supposed polarized. Looked at glass reflections, etc. dang, not actually polarized.

I use the Peppers brand - found them at REI and really like them.  Polarized are really good, and if I lose them I don't feel like shit because I lost $200. However, I should note that I bought an extra pair on Amazon and the lenses keep popping out, so not sure if it's better to get them at a legit storefront.
