He was (according to my Dad) so naturally strong back then.  Rooster used to shutter the doors and breeze access and make them do plyometictics/isometrics underneath the West side.  They really didn’t have weight training in the early ‘60s.

Can you imagine pushing against a concrete wall, while a little man (Rooster) is hollering at you that you’re not pushing enough?  Let alone Rooster would crank up the heat!  All under the West side - according to my Dad who got to share the experience.

But Dad loved Rooster, as we wouldn’t make a trip to Austin, FB season or not, without going to Rooster’s.

I’ve stated on this site before that wanted a Campbell #34 Longhorn jersey.  Earl wore 34 with the Oilers and that’s was I always saw.  Both Dad and Rooster said that Earl wore 20 at UT, but I wanted 34 with Campbell on the back!

Rooster told the staff in the back, make a 34 Campbell jersey, as that’s what the kid wants.

i wish I had that jersey today (circa 78-79), as itd definitely be unique.

Octavious Bishop

The last time I saw Octavious Bishop was (I think) the first ever XFL game, where he suffered a season ending injury.  He seems to have done well, post-football:

My day is coming soon LTxfan and Honolulu Horn.  I think 66 is  next Wednesday?  Dad is now 82 and I told him a couple years ago that I posted his picture on a Longhorn online fan board. He only responded with why?  I didn’t do much.
