Did you watch Livingstone the other day? Why not make a highlight tape of his drops? You're an absolute child about this.

I will admit I am being a child about this. Let me have my moment. Also, remember this for when somebody in the Arch thread says I never make excuses for Arch like I did about Quinn.

I refuse to get emotional about anyone named Parker, Ashton, or Hamilton. They all end up fine, either as investment bankers on Wall Street or commercial real estate brokers.

He's from Lovejoy right?

I doubt it. I think you guys have been underestimating Parker from the day he committed forward. Texas should have ponied all the way up and paid this stud the $800k he’s demanded. We will rue this day, folks.

3:06 mark.... dude just goes down way to easily. I'm fine with him at #2 but Sark needs to not only bring in a legit #1 he needs to open the rotation to other guys. no way he's a #1 guy.

I plead ignorance your honor.

As for why he is leaving, I don't pretend to be in the know and it's difficult to know which people claiming they do have the straight scoop.

Back to serious arguing y'all. Yeah, I watched his drops. The two I remember was an RPO where Arch threw it as hard as he can and blew his chest up, the the other one where he stretched to get a ball thrown out in front of him and got about 3 fingers on it. I get the RPO ball but did you really expect him to catch the ball he stretched for? Regardless, what I saw for the season was the only dude that came down with deep balls, fought for contested balls, and got absolutely decleated in the Ohio State game but still hung onto it. When he was targeted for screens was shifty and fought through contact.

Did he drop the ball more than we'd like? Hell yes, but he is better than y'all are giving him credit for. Good speed. Good size. Catches the ball with his hands. Fights for the ball.

There was a lot of discussion earlier in the year about losing some of our young quality WR bench riders to the portal over in $9.95. Kids want to play. And they want to make bank if they can. I cannot fault a kid on either. And if that means a move, and a raise then that makes sense for Livingstone. He has has some clutch plays for us for sure, he has had some costly drops as well. Two sides of the same coin. The problem is the same one CJ Baxter and Wisner had, looking to next year where do they fit in the competition at Texas? And if you want a big raise, usually you have to change jobs. That's true in life, and the NIL.

I guess the only thing I would be really curious about is how the talk with Arch went down? Assuming there was one.

And look at that! The play right after the Wingo play is Cam Williams being bull-rushed back into the QB for a sack. Couldn't have scripted it better if I tried. Meanwhile soon to be 1st round tackle Trevor Gooseby is sitting on the bench.

I have no idea what went on behind the scenes to precipitate his leaving. Justifiable . . . explainable . . . understandable, whatever it turns out to be, I think we're going to miss him. But I do understand that when it comes to NIL, we've got several loaves of bread and there's just so much peanut butter.

Like I said, I think that's a piss poor example to try and make your point. A much better one would be him succumbing to the turf monster against Georgia. His weaknesses are he is not a physical WR given his size and he does a poor job of contesting catches. He also needs to run better routes and yes, he drops some passes but he has also made some spectacular ones. I also think he has improved this season and he might well do so again next season.

No qualms at all with looking for a more talented WR in the portal however. Some competition might even spur Wingo to get better. And as for the subject of this thread, Parker was a far better option for contested catches and jump balls. I'd have to go look at his drops in the Citrus bowl since I don't place much credence in the Surly evaluations committee. I was gone most of the day and only caught the last 1:11 left in the 4th Qtr.

Again, the talking heads are an extension of the program. When Nick Saban was taking 28 dudes when he only had 23 spots, and then cutting the 3 star he had the year prior to make way for the newest 5 star, shiny object, nobody around the Bama program was saying man Nick sure is an unethical guy treating kids like shit. No, they were ignoring it. Texas talking heads are painting these departures as "we couldn't come to an agreement". That makes us feel like the kids are the ones who are quitting on the program which is far more palatable than the other way around. It looks bad on the program that they are pushing kids out, but they ARE pushing kids out. A couple are looking for more money, but most of these kids just wanna play.

My daughter's soon to be college volleyball team just had two girls portal. Both play my daughter's position. I wonder why they portaled? Here you have a high level recruit coming in and don't see or have been told there is no room for you. Then the coach calls my daughter and tells her she is in charge of the 26 and 27 recruits and sets her up with the group text. Why her and not one of the upperclassmen? Because she just took over the program and is trying to push them out. That's how this shit goes. It's ugly and cutthroat behind the scenes.

This did not age well.

I’m sad about Parker. A lot. He’s the type of player who would have been a fan favorite. Arch is too obviously per his instagram. I felt Parker showed a ton of potential and tremendous promise as a freshman. And he will only develop into a beast at the position. I know he will be missed. I would have loved for him to stay.

There are plenty of people I’d like to chuck in the portal but Parker wasn’t one of them and that includes our coaching staff.

The general thinking is that guys are leaving to chase NIL. I’m not making excuses for the transfer, but there is a possibility that Livingstone sees the limitations with the coaching staff affecting not only his current, but also potential future, earnings. Chris Jackson just got a contract extension. Our WR room looked awful this year so I have no idea why. Livingstone’s love of Texas, the bond with Arch, and bleeding orange isn’t enough to make someone overlook the fact they know they aren’t being coached to their best abilities and are not being used in the best way possible. I’m just playing devil’s advocate here and have no info regarding his decision. I wish him the best in the future.

Livingston started out hot but ended the season meh. The regression was concerning when you consider the fact that the rest of the offense was started to gel. IIRC he had a few notable drops in one of the games that hurt us. I don't know what happened to him.

I would have liked to see more of Lockett and Ffrench throughout the year, but for some reason, this staff doesn't trust the backups. Perhaps they were not ready or perhaps Sark has the same philosophy as Mack when it comes to playing young guys.

Interesting, considering this staff has gotten four WRs and two TEs drafted the past two years. And that isn't including Bond who got himself undrafted but appears to be an NFL player.

It's conspiratorial to think that Livingstone left for any reasons other than money and playing time. The two things that explain like 90% of transfer decisions. If anything - this staff helped his transfer bid by getting him a ton of good looks early in the season.

There's never been a dude more destined to be the football coach at some west Texas or panhandle HS than this guy.

He's also one of the very few players on the team that exceeded preseason expectations. He will do well somewhere, and if he develops he'll have a shot at the NFL.

Parker, Ashton, and Hamilton would like to invite you to a rush party. Their “brother” Aiden is coming by to pick them up in his Yukon Denali.

Mack did this all the time. This ain’t new and isn’t limited to Saban.

If he's going to Indiana and joins up with Josh Hoover, there he will be fine and get coached up.

Reports are that OU is interested too.

Parker was really great back when Arch was too scared to throw to black players.
