  1. i have suddenly decided that whatever I get, it's going to be new
  2. It's just a single data point that follows all that has happened since Roe v. Wade was overturned. We've talked about abortion being a case of the dog finally catching the car. That's what happened in Alabama, and what happened in 2022. I can't overemphasize the importance of 2022; the Presidents' party rarely increases its lead in a mid-term election. The Republicans sinking the border deal is another -- they delivered this issue straight into the Democrats' open arms; that's what we saw in Long Island. Where issues impact people in real ways, that's where we see the votes going, and right now, the Democrats are holding a royal flush and the GOP has a Jack high.
  3. So what Js1 said is what I tried to do. I don't know if it got through, but I have to say it, hoping that it'll make an impression. I think the message I want to give him is: If you wait until politics affects you to start caring about it, by then, it will be too late; start caring about it now, so you don't end up in that position. He has an interest in guns, which has made him vulnerable to NRA bullshit. When he shares their arguments with me (as if they were his own), all I can say is, "I used to say those things myself." And hopefully that'll push the door open to investigation on his own part. I can't change his mind for him.
  4. it's a percentage, so it's the same ratio i buy whatever gets me the most sausage per dollar; sometimes you get these "$x if you buy 5" deals on the smaller packs
  5. And this is the second actual election where we've seen this just this year, with the Long Island Congressional vote being the first. Unless you want to include all the primary results. 😁 And yet, Nate Silver will find a way to ignore it. Map of those pockets: (affected areas are in light yellow) See Long Island results above. I'm sure it is if the pollsters WANT to fix it, but they aren't even at the phase of recognizing that there's a problem yet. As long as media companies are willing to keep paying them for the shit they're pooping out now, they have no need to change. Parental disappointment. Fortunately, we live in California, where his vote will be like the federally allowed amount of rat shit in your Jimmy Dean sausage -- you cringe that it's there, but it's not enough to make you not buy and eat the delicious, tasty Jimmy Dean sausage. Mmmmmm.
  6. my son has informed me that he's wasting his first-ever vote in November on Vermin Supreme
  7. I think you're very busy disbelieving in a very different God than the one I'm believing in. Which is fine, because it means we have your disbelief in common.
  8. I might pray to God to bless Trump, but it means an entirely different thing when I say it than when MAGA says it. Because what God offers us is not power, glory, and defeating your enemies, but peace. Acceptance. Honesty. Can you imagine if one morning, Trump woke up and suddenly realized that he didn't have to do any of this? That he could tell the truth? That he could accept the lawsuits and the bankruptcies and all that nonsense? It would be better for everyone -- but especially for Donald J. Trump. But I don't think that's what MAGA means when they say that. I don't think they know what Jesus is about, either.
  9. Well, for one thing, if he DOESN'T lose, we're all fucked. But with each loss, things get worse for them, more people fall away. Y'all seem to have this notion that his current supporters will NEVER change their support, that they're so far off the deep end they'll never make their way out. But with each loss, someone else decides, "Ok that's just too much for me."
  10. Of course HE wouldn't want it that way, it wouldn't benefit him at that point! But it's not about what Trump wants. It's about what that crafty guy wants. Another puppet for Putin to use. And he can keep that brand going. Butter up Trump's kids with sweet words. Tell everyone that he's there to carry things on In Trump's Name.
  11. I mean, they already tried that once, and the fact that most of them ended up in jail has really calmed down groups since. Now we just have to do it again. And again. And again.
  12. That's because he's not dead yet. It wasn't until after Jesus' death that Paul showed up, and then converted that small section into the major religion it eventually became. And he came from as far outside the cult as one could come. The person who takes over, if Trump dies too soon, will be like that. He won't be one of the crazy followers you see right now. He'll be someone who looks like he's against Trump right now, but crafty as he is, will see the opportunity and make things happen. And like MAGAs do with Reagan now, he just has to invoke the name to get everyone in line... and then grow it. That's the guy I'm most afraid of right now. The guy you haven't heard of yet.
  13. Yes, but if he dies without losing, all it takes is one person to take over for him. And THAT person will actually be smart and know what he's doing. Which would be far worse than what is happening now. I feel your pain, man, but he has to lose and live to lose again and again to end the threat. Yeah it sucks and we all want it to be over now, but the long, slow, drawn-out way is the only way it will work.
  14. My answer to that is: Be careful what you wish for. If he were to fall, he would become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. The Romans thought they could kill off a cult by killing Jesus... You may snicker, but Trump has replaced Jesus in churches throughout the country as their true Messiah, even if they won't say that quiet part out loud quite yet. You won't kill the cult off simply by him dying. Heck, look how many years it took for Elvis sightings to wane. Elvis was being spotted and worshiped for a good 10-15 years after his death. Wouldn't have happened if he'd just been an old, fat druggie for the next ten years instead. THEN you'd have had people talking about how much he sucked, although he had been pretty good once. Y'all really don't want Trump to die. Y'all want him to lose. Lose, lose, and keep losing more and more, until his name has become as synonymous with losing as Rimbo has become with Greg Davis Defenders. He won't have a cult, because nobody wants to join the Cult of Loser. Jail won't end him. Death won't end him. Losing will. Losing court cases. Losing his marbles. Losing the election. Dragging the GOP down with him.
  15. I'm just quoting this for truth. He has said what he's going to do. His plan is Hitler's plan. Getting the word out and defeating him in November, and again in 2028, and again and again and again, is the only way to win. Court cases won't end this. DEATH won't prevent this. Just the hard work of winning people over.
  16. It should be. You're right about that. It absolutely should be. But when the guy is literally saying these things, literally saying that he wants to become a dictator and end democracy? It's not a joke. You either see that this time it's actually happening, or become History's next great lesson. I don't think Trump has to die. In fact, Trump dying won't necessarily help. Trump's CULT has to die. And that can happen while he's still very much alive; events just have to continue to show, irrevocably, who he really is, vs who people have made him to be. The Romans killed Jesus and it did nothing to end people's worship of him.
  17. There's about six million Jews who would take issue with this sentiment. Along 405,000 Americans, who died to defeat fascism in the 1940s. We can defeat it again in 2024, and no one has to die this time if people show up to the polls and vote blue.
  18. This is correct. Hitler served time... and then the Germans elected him anyway.
  19. Assuming NewsMax actually reports any of this.
  20. Cashed in my 20 shares at $69 today. Which means I made about $690.
