  1. @MaybeACoordinator I read the obit, too; I have a friend he used to cover way back in the day. Hate to hear it. Those demons can trample many people who move to Nashville. In 2022 traveled extensively, and while on airplanes or in rental cars would go down musical wormholes, and as a recovered alcoholic, it sometimes became unbearable, simply because country music is pretty much about either having feelings or attempting to escape them. IMO the family wants solace and closure, and since they can't understand the disease, they cling to their narrative. At one funeral for a 41 yr old, I heard, "His heart just gave out; I guess the good lord needed him in heaven," when he took too many Xanax and didn't wake up. I've seen that scenario or a variation thereof about a dozen times since I put the plug in the jug. Edit: Unrelated, but I discovered this site - https://www.farcethemusic.com/ and it's funny.
  2. LMAO. See, Trump will be having a gala dinner in South Florida, and you will attend, but it will be on zoom, and you'll be eating whatever TV dinner you can nuke in your trailer's kitchen, in Alabama, you schmuck!
  3. Plus I'm pretty sure giving my credit card number to some MAGA dipshit is B1 on the bingo card. See "click here to opt-out of recurring donations" in tiny fine print as the GOP fundraising bingo square. Come to mention it, I would be amazed if this NFT scam didn't have recurring purchases as the default setting at checkout. The O/U on how many twits buy one just to watch the technology trainwreck?
  4. Not one of the above posters, but another prolific right winger from this site called me from a bar one night, feigned a conversation, and then begged me to call the bar and give them my credit card number to cover his bar tab because he knew his credit card was over the limit and was going to be declined. I declined, of course. Sad.
  5. Paging ocugolf? Can you ask a few subtle questions at the family Christmas gathering?
  6. "Price Harmonization" - I'm in the software business, my firm's pricing goes up 8% on Jan 1, and 15% in India, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden Let's not overlook the Fed's impact on global rates and foreign currency exposure.
  7. My best friend at work rented a Tesla at OAK yesterday, dropped his suitcase and briefcase at the hotel room, and drove to meet a client for coffee. While he was inside, somebody smashed his window, climbed into the trunk, and stole the charging pack. I told him the perpetrator probably had to fence the charger to get cash to meet a margin call on his TSLA.
  8. That's because all their ex-husbands are out banging sugar babies, right?
  9. I can’t remember, did the national pandemic plan that W. commissioned and Obama continued before Trump abandoned it contain provisions and guidelines for pandemic, stimulus, inflation, stagflation, deflation, economic downturn, and Russian invasion?
  10. This morning my wife and I were having a solemn moment, fondly remembering Mike Leach. Then we ridiculed Craig James.
  11. For my own sanity, I hit pause on the outrage machine and went to the twatters to investigate, and I can't find it. All I'm saying is that this matrix of exponential disinformation is working my last nerve. Example - this morning - yay, I'm up thousands, got CNBC on, surely the markets have factored in a 50 basis point rate hike, no need to punch out. Oh no now I'm down thousands. This simulation is exhausting.
  12. Wait, you mean you guys don't just punt on 1st down? I really am sick. lol.
  13. And those automakers have a lot more cultural intelligence, brand loyalty, and marketing savvy than Tesla. Petty resentments aside, this is going to be interesting.
  14. The irony is that neither company progresses past “cocktail napkin scribbled idea” stage without massive government subsidies. Not a coincidence that he amped up the honesty right after midterms.
  15. In a pinch, it’ll do. And at DFW when necessary.
  16. Not surprising. I’ve attempted negotiations (well, my lawyers did) with Space X and Tesla lawyers, said fuck this, you people are basically jerking me off, and landed in a 1,000% better gig. Now I just feel sorry for them. - not showing up to meetings after multiple confirmations - changing course and reneging on previously agreed to language - expecting other companies to go ahead and fund projects with their own working capital without legally binding agreements. The state of Texas should hold his feet to the fire. Zero quarter. He is on the cusp of raping our state.
  17. Also, what the hell is he doing sending starlink stations to Ukraine then disabling their Twitter accounts?
