  1. They have a problem with their collective memory. In all the whooshing down the hill of the roller coaster, they can’t remember the click clack from when they were climbing to the top of the hill. Then from season to season, they always forget the rollercoaster of “best team in America” to “we need to fire ____________.”
  2. It’s the whole circus. No matter what a person thinks of Shadeur, you’re getting the whole circus with him. I’m not even a Deion hater, but I don’t know who wants to sign up for the circus. 🤡
  3. Their problem is their culture. They can’t shake that. They can’t not be fucking retards. They demand Franchione’s secret emails. They demand bass boat seats in the stadium. They demand Billy Liucci be in charge of NIL. They demand coaches “get” them. They demand male cheerleaders. They demand sitting national championship head coaches. They demand sawing horns off at places no one is thinking about a college band. They demand whooping and stacking and uncovering and roller coastering and humping and glory holing. Until they can accept that is not a recipe for success, they’ll never achieve it. 1939 was before the internet. Nobody would believe half of the stupid shit they do without seeing it. They can see it.
  4. They struggle to understand that Texas is a world class university in multiple disciplines, business being right near the top. We have finally been making world class hires and being strategic and unified in our approach. “What starts here…” sounds arrogant, but it’s a fact. NIL has unleashed our superpowers. And thankfully, we’re not tied to some hayseed notion of backwards history like they are. Money isn’t helpful when you’re stupid.
  5. From his ass?
  6. Oh, Billy. You’ve never won a championship in anything. No matter who you were playing. Except that lone title. In black and white. Before your parents were born. When Hitler was cranking up his war machine. 1939* Remember that one? No, not a single living person does.
  7. A warrior. On and off the field. A Longhorn legend. Hook ‘em for eternity, Steve!

  9. And Patrick on the CWS.
  10. I loved Franklin and Patrick together with Adrian Karsten on the sideline. Great crew before Hoggy Rowe took Karsten’s spot. That was Saturday night football on ESPN.
  11. They’ve been giving out fake diplomas for years.
  12. Who can forget the Liucci 44? Where else could you find a list of the top 35 Texas A&M targets and a handful of players they weren’t recruiting?
  13. For sure
  14. Yeah, notice none of us bashed UCLA as a university. It’s a good school. As mentioned, Californians just aren’t passionate about football. That’s ok. We’ve spent years sucking at football because we didn’t prioritize it. And when other schools were buying players, we weren't, because there are lines our alums didn’t want to cross. We consider ourselves above that, maybe arrogantly so, but we stuck to our guns and would never have hired Chip Kelly, for instance. It’s awesome that we’re in a time that we can utilize our resources and outbid other schools while staying within the rules. I certainly don’t want to see rules changes.
  15. Buddy, you know better than this. Texas is a very good school and a great research institution. We spend a lot of money on…everything.
  16. I don’t know. We always have the opposite problem and can’t get rid of the motherfuckers.
  17. My quibble would be that coaches have buyouts they have to pay when they leave. I don’t like either move, but players are trying to renege on their agreements without consequence.
  18. I agree. Just that there are polar opposites. Some districts do police it. Others are like the SEC. The UIL is effective when it chooses to be.
  19. Depends on the district the kid is trying to play in and often, the team the kids is transferring to. I know a kid who moved from Germany to live with his aunt so he could play football in the States his last 2 years in HS. The district blocked him from playing varsity FB at all. That’s despite the school he moved to having nothing to do with him coming to the States. He was a legit D1 prospect, but ended up having to go JUCO because he didn’t get to varsity FB. The school he moved to was a power at the time, so I’m assuming other coaches in the district blocked him from playing.
