  1. The 150 mph thing is a category unto itself. I’m fine with throwing him to the wolves, but anything north of 0.0 as a crime is ridiculous.
  2. I should be able to have a glass of wine at dinner, or a beer at Hooters, and not be thrown in prison. Go fuck your self righteous self. I fully support enhanced punishments and mandatory jail time for people who are clearly hammered. From the mugshot thread, it would appear that Austin makes a distinction for people who are north of .15. That makes sense. Someone who blows a .04 ain’t a danger to society. The guy who kills a family because he passed out behind the wheel and hit them head on can get the max if they survive the crash.
  3. In a district where he lives and routinely does criminal shit? Probably more involved than the appointment of a judge in Boise, ID.
  4. There is all kinds of issues with my cousin, a lot of which is his fault, and a few things that aren’t his fault. But when I went over to my aunt and uncle’s house for some holiday get together many years ago, and that fucking dog was there, my first thought was of course he got a pit bull. A match made in heaven. Little man’s syndrome projecting the strength he doesn’t have through his pet, and lacking the ability or will to train the dog properly. That thing was such a fucking menace that my sister told my aunt that it was not allowed around her kids. Just straight up, if that dog is present when we arrive at your house, we are getting back in the car and going home. He’s far from trailer trash, but drugs drag him down to that level with some regularity.
  5. My cousin had a pit bull. He’s currently a guest of the state for the next 5 or so years.

    Dallas | BBQ

II’m basically equidistant from Blu’s and Ten50, and ten50 gets my money for above average bbq in the n. Dallas/Richardson area. Overpriced? Yes. Could I go north or south and get better? Absofuckinglutely. But convenience wins out on weeknights when you want some takeout. I will tolerate a bunch of shit if I like your food, but Blu’s sides turned me off to the point of not going back. It was as if they made the sides once a week and just let them sit in the stainless steel containers at the counter unrefrigerated. Maybe they stuck them in the fridge at the end of the day and took them back out and reheated them the next morning. Either way, sides don’t make a meal, but they can certainly ruin one.

  8. I’m gonna need a training camp.
  9. Sure. Why not. I’ve been arrested (but not convicted) for things more trivial than a really good biscuit.
  10. If a criminal defendant committed crimes in multiple jurisdictions, why is it weird that he would be charged for the crimes in each jurisdiction? If I murder someone in Louisiana, then murder someone else in Texas, do I get to consolidate those cases in the more favorable state?

    Dallas | BBQ

I tried to like Blu’s. I wanted to like it because it’s pretty convenient, but two bad trips in a row gets you crossed off the list. The meat was fine, not great, but they served me beans that had been sitting for so long that a crust had formed. I drive by it all the time and it’s never crossed my mind to try it again. Weird for a non-local celeb to end up there.
  12. This is intriguing. May have to try this the next time I have leftover brisket.
  13. I was not aware that generic xanax is the 7th leading cause of death. Learn something new every day.

  15. They also insured JLo’s ass at one point.
  16. Lloyd’s of London used to be the ones who did stuff like this. From wiki, here’s a list of people they have insured. People The bodies of several professional wrestlers, including Brian Adams, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Curt Hennig, Joe Laurinaitis (better known as Road Warrior Animal) and Rick Rude. However, as of 2017, Dave Meltzer reported that they no longer insure wrestlers.[64] Toni Braxton's, Celine Dion's, Bob Dylan's, Whitney Houston's, and Bruce Springsteen's vocal cords[65] Marlene Dietrich's, Betty Grable's,[62] Brooke Shields's, Tina Turner's and Mary Hart's legs[citation needed] Ken Dodd's teeth for $7.4m[65] Michael Flatley's legs for $47m[65] (the policy was only in effect when he was touring, and forbade him from dancing except on stage) Cricketer Merv Hughes' trademark walrus mustache while playing for Australia between 1985 and 1994[65] Keiran Lee's penis for $1m[66] The hands of the 1932 World Yo-Yo Champion Harvey Lowe[65] Troy Polamalu's hair for $1m[67] Food critic and gourmet Egon Ronay's taste buds for £250,000[62] Pat McAfee's legs during his franchise tag season with the Indianapolis Colts[68][non-primary source needed] Will Smith's stunt bungee jumping out of a helicopter into the Grand Canyon on his 50th birthday, for $200m[69]
  17. I don’t think this particular risk would make it past the underwriters.
  18. My 4/6 not looking so bad as the results filter in. I feel like the guy who has an early morning tee time at The Open and shoots par before the weather gets bad.
