  1. I cannot possibly agree with a statement more than I agree with this one. 100PCT agree. He's legit on the spectrum, and he needs better advisors. I don't say that to throw stones, but to observe that his support structure NEEDS to be different than some other people. That's ok, but he's not really taking much responsibility for this shit either.
  2. I totally get this take, but also, golf is different. Fans are sometimes within feet of the golfers. The bias towards quiet means a single loud, shouted voice can have a material impact on a swing, a shot, a tournament. There's no 'background noise' to drown out the assholes. And this is way more than just "a few guys giving Bryson the needle." It's fully possible to differentiate some good-natured trash talk from targeted assholery. I'm of the opinion that targeted assholery should be an automatic ejection from a tournament, no refund given, and I don't care what player it's targeted at. It wouldn't take long for some of this shit to die away. For me, even the "mashed potatoes" guy should get kicked out, and also get off my lawn.
  3. +1 to @cabowabo - the grey market dealers have a lot to like, ESPECIALLY if you're venturing into your first higher-end watch and need to save some coin. I bought from Jomashop, received a completely-untouched new-in-original-packaging Omega at a $2k discount from the boutique shop prices, and when I needed to submit for a warranty claim, they actually just sent me the original warranty card and told me to call Omega directly.
  4. 100% same. I enjoyed batch 1, bought a bottle of batch 2 and really liked it, even at that price point (granted, I'm a sucker for slightly sweeter ryes, so it was right up my alley). Have heard bad things about B3 and beyond from folks that recommended B1 and 2 to me ...
  5. Is this the same episode as "We drank some blood. Those guys were on drugs. Now I'm a wizard!"? Because that shit was hilarious.
  6. I suddenly have too many things to watch tomorrow ... Ted Lasso, two eps of Archer, and next week WWDITS. Good problem to have, hermanos.
  7. RCRanger hasn't been seen here in six weeks ...
  8. That trailer looks nothing like the goddamned books. This is going to be an "inspired by" show, and i hate it already. disclosure - Foundation was the first "grown up" sci-fi I ever read. I read every novel in the series, even the posthumous ones, every 3-4 years. It's going to be very difficult for me to enjoy this. I'll still watch but ... I promise not to Derka these threads, tho.
  9. oh yes indeed.
  10. Is anyone on this thread a member at Onion Creek? I'm considering joining somewhere, and I'd love to get a feel for the MGA out there, ask some questions.
  11. Playing in the State Mid-Am qualifier at Grey Rock tomorrow. Buddy (better golfer than me) is gonna caddy, which really means walk with me and help read putts :). Hitting it ok, but really haven't been playing much. We'll see how this goes, but excited to put the tee in the ground again and have to count all the shots.
  12. Possible that it's in the <header> tag tho ... because he "knows his way around computers"
  13. From Olivia Wilde to Keeley Hazel. Fuck that guy.
  14. The rather liberal mixing of the term "timeline" with the term "alternate universe" drives me fucking crazy ... but the comics are just as guilty of it.
  15. I don't understand OP's point (probably because this thread was extracted from another thread). "We have more murders" is a stat; what point are you making for which that stat is a defense? Are you saying that Americans are shitty people who just love a good murderin' on a Saturday night? Are you linking this to race? Did it start as a gun-control thing?
  16. That's a fantastic fucking article.
  17. This take is just completely and fundamentally wrong. Prior to Newt Fucking Gingrich, the old white dudes in Congress pretty reliably got plenty of shit done, and across the aisle no less. I mean for the love of god, in 1984 Ronald Regan carried 49 states, 59% of the popular votes cast, and 525 electoral college votes (and the state he lost was Mondales home state of Minnesota, and he only lost that state by .18%!!!!). Bi-partisan politics worked passably well in this country from the end of WW2 right up until Newt. Goddammit. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/11/newt-gingrich-says-youre-welcome/570832/
  18. City Council is so fucking weird to me, as a concept. You get people like Delia Garza; actual firefighter with AFD, then law school graduate and lawyer, councilmember and most recently elected county attorney. She's on her way up in the world, and is genuinely motivated to help people and this city. And on the other end of the spectrum, fitlump.
  19. She worked closely with Matt Mackowiak during her campaign. While I don't particularly like the guy, he's damn good at what he does. I'm betting he either told her who to hire, or has shared some best practices for managing the crazy.
  20. Not trying to beat a dead horse. But you don't have to slide. You just can't barrel over the catcher when he has the ball. If you tap-dance around him, you're not automatically out (subject to existing baseline rules).
  21. I believe the rule is technically worded that you cannot "deviate from the path to the plate to initiate contact." One method of doing so is sliding, but you can also dodge, give yourself up, jump over, etc. Source - http://www.miaa.net/gen/miaa_generated_bin/documents/basic_module/ForceplayslideNCAA.pdf
  22. Nope. I clicked it because I'm a sadist, and it's just another case of "found god became an asshole."
  23. Much like quoting the websites he does, using the phrase "Big Tech" is a dead giveaway that he's either a simpleton or an obvious troll. Either way, fuck him.
  24. The irony of the right demanding a "complete and thorough" investigation of this, but not Jan 6th.
