  1. It's fucking absurd that this has to be stated. In fact, it ought to be extended to all recruits considering Texas as we approach signing day. The shit-talking of Banks' dad based on a tweet by Banks' trainer yesterday was strange. Let this shit play out and be positive.
  2. Nah. He redshirted in 98 when he backed up major but then left to play baseball. He should still have four more years.
  3. He literally asked questions. It wasn’t a pissing match. You’re making it into a pissing match. I appreciate all the work immamac has done on this. It’s genuinely incredible and literally unprecedented. I’m just saying the tone on this board, specifically with respect to NIL has been strangely aggro lately. I think it would be more productive to have a little understanding as people navigate a whole bunch of new shit that most of us haven’t had the opportunity to fully digest at this early stage.
  4. Christ almighty guys, lay off. If he misunderstood the staff’s temperature on NIL, is it that big of a fucking deal? If the staff can’t talk about NIL, it’s valid to ask the questions about who can communicate what to prospects. Full disclosure, I don’t know the rules about what the staff can and cannot “officially” communicate to recruits re: NIL and I doubt I’m the only non-expert here. But going off the rails for asking innocuous but mildly uninformed questions doesn’t foster an honest and open dialogue. And the hostility and smugness is downright Luicci-esque. We are all learning through all this bullshit. Cut everyone some fucking slack.
  5. We're POSSIBLY going to have a higher-ranked recruiting class than either of Charlie's. But again, right now more than 1/3 of the class is DL, we have 1LB recruit, a long-term project at QB, one player ranked in the top-100 composite, no OTs, an absolute flake at RB, our highest-ranked in-state recruit is the #15 player, and we have no five-star/impact players in a year where there were eight composite five-star in-state players! This is an imbalanced class that doesn't address our roster needs. It's a shit class from a shit staff. We got our asses kicked all over the field this year, and we're getting our asses kicked in recruiting.
  6. Dude. How fucking hard are you right now? Are you just sitting there edging, waiting to fucking explode all over your computer like Randy Marsh? You gotta be loving this shit.
  7. I don't really look at it as desperate. I look at it as "they've figured out what they can get away with, and they're doing what it takes to build the kind of roster that can win a national championship." Now, they're aggy so they're gonna fuck it up. It is known. But shit, can we get desperate?
  8. That was last week and probably included Dewberry, Banks, Campbell, and maybe Stewert. And we're probably gonna whiff on all of them.
  9. How else would we convince the good Brocks to transfer here if we didn't make their spare-ass walk-on brother the centerpiece of the defense? Sark's just playing 3D chess and we're all too stupid to understand it.....
  10. I guess the good news about us not going to the SEC until 2025 is that maybe we'll get that new-coach bump right as we make the move.
  11. Are we going to finish with a top-10 class? Who are you confident in us landing that would keep us in the top-10? Banks, who's already committed to another school? Campbell, who has supposedly been a near-lock for 5 months but has never pulled the trigger? I think it's just as likely we end up outside the top-10 at this point. This staff can't close. I'd also like to point out that we've been in the top-10 ranked recruiting classes most of the last decade and where has that gotten us? Is this fringe top-10 class well rounded with difference makers? No. More than 1/3 of the class is DL recruits. Fucking ridiculous. We have 1 fucking guy in the 247 composite top-100. We have only two OL, both of which are guards and our OL is both fucking terrible AND low on bodies. Same applies to LB, and we have one LB recruit in Trevell Johnson, who is ranked in the 500s. As you point out, we've been missing out on the 5-stars for MORE THAN a little while now. We have five five-stars on the roster now. BJ Foster, who sucks, Alfred Collins, who apparently doesn't like football, Jordan Whittington, who is Mr. Glass, and then two badasses in Worthy and Bijan. We sucked monumentally last year. How bad would we suck without those two dudes? They're literally the only difference makers on this team. Shit is........ grim.
  12. Today I learned that Barleycorn is now a weed dispensary. So fuck yeah you should take them kids!
  13. I'd still prefer to have coaches that can both coach and recruit. And I don't think this has anything to do with Samples
  14. "I get regularly fucked by my head coach's offensive philosophy. So if you're gonna get fucked by a man whose wife gets around, make sure to use protection. Make him wear durex"
  15. I mean, it's $10. If $10 is gonna fuck up your gift situation, then you're already letting your family down. This coming from someone who finally signed up yesterday. I really consider it more of a subscription to a website that occupies the vast majority of my fuck-around free time. It helps me reconcile the conundrum of giving my money to teenagers I don't know...
  16. My two cents: Wrigleyville is a shit-show of college frat-boy-aged douchebaggery. A daytime Christmas market might be OK because those jamokes will probably sleeping off hangovers. But don't go there at night. I avoid Wrigleyville at all costs. And don't go to Weiner Circle (not in Wrigleyville, but close and a popular tourist destination). It's a weird modern-day minstrel show with a completely awkward racial dynamic.
  17. Only issue I could see is that this may be an obstacle in churning out dead weight on the roster. Some dude may say "why would I transfer to Texas State when I can ride the pine and take in six figures"...
  18. No one gets to say shit. This isn't Title 9. The group gets to invest the money in whatever ways they believe will increase the endowment. That it's a Department-wide endeavor is fucking incredible. I'm sure there are a lot of programs that would do something like this only for football. But to take this department wide takes this to a different and more impressive scale. It's excellent PR.
  19. Know idea why I've felt that way, to be honest. It's just a vibe thing. As is the case most of the time, I'm probably wrong and full of shit.
  20. That's very encouraging about Durant, as his UT affiliation has never felt as strong as it could/should be. TJ's always repped UT. I was thinking about who the current "high-profile" UT football players are in the NFL and it's a pretty sad list. I think that, without a doubt, Justin Tucker is our most famous football alum. It's be good to see him be part of this. But kickers don't make QB money...
  21. Fucking FINALLY! I'm very interested to see which former athletes are a part of this. Lots of synergy there. I mean, shouldn't the entire QB room have an NIL deal with Vince Young Steakhouse?
