  1. Yeah, that’s exactly what’s dragging the under-30 crowd down, and they won’t shut the fuck up about it. When I talk to my friends/family and others who are 30 and under, it’s all they ever talk about. They don’t talk about the attacks on the LGBTQ folks or minorities or the shitty weather. It’s like Mormons or fucking cross-fitters - they can’t stop talking about this one thing. You ask them what they think of the March Madness bracket and you get 20 minutes of bullshit about them not being able to fill out their bracket because they were thinking about the locations of some of the teams and then they began having an existential crisis about the climate and the future impact on those teams. The under-30 crowd just won’t shut the fuck up about the climate,
  2. I want a press conference with William and the Kate body double, and everybody there obviously knows it’s not Kate, but everybody there just decides to go along with it and pretend it’s her.
  3. She’s a huge EU fan and has said she brought some EU stuff into the series, but she also said you don’t have to read any of the EU or High Republic books to follow the story. I’m glad they brought in somebody who grew up reading the EU books (and her Russian Doll work helps). Yeah, there was some bad EU stuff. A lot of bad EU stuff, but there was also some good stuff (see Thrawn and Co.) and the EU stuff arguably kept Star Wars going for a lot of fans for quite a while.
  4. This is an open-world survival MMO, not the 4x Spice Wars game. Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1172710/Dune_Awakening/ Rise from survival to dominance on the most dangerous planet in the universe. Dune: Awakening combines the grit and creativity of sandbox survival games with the social interactivity of a large, persistent multiplayer game to create a unique and ambitious Open World Survival MMO. Your journey begins on Arrakis, with its vast deserts and colossal sandworms. Meet characters from the movies and books as you follow your story across Dune. Discover new allies and enemies and exploit your relationships to uncover the mystery that lies just beneath the surface of the sands. Choose Your Identity Craft your identity and build your prowess, from deep character creation to skills and abilities taught by specialists like Mentats and Bene Gesserit. Declare your loyalties by what you wear and become known by what you do, whether you are a specialized master or multi-talented adept. On Arrakis, water is life. Learn where to find it in the world, how to extract it from bodies, and exercise water discipline by maintaining your stillsuit. Choose where to craft and develop your shelter to survive sun and sandstorms. Weigh each step in the open desert against the risk of sandworms.
  5. Fascinating as hell Americans, Brits, Aussies, Canadians in the foreign legion assaulting a Russian trench Very good play-by-play with somebody who was there
  6. Yep. For those Carrie-Anne Moss fans who wrote a lot of erotic fan fiction in the late 90s/00s about her Matrix character, it’s going to be awfully easy to load up the old text files and swap out settings and character names and have some new material to work with.
  7. Trump will never pick Kenny Wayne Paxton or Hot Wheels to be his running mate, no matter how hard they try.
  8. We’ve been down this road before
  9. This isn’t much of an answer, but if they had enough, they’d have to worry about wearing out gun barrels. Right now the Ukrainians are shooting something like 2,000 - 3,000 a day, while the Russians are using up to 10,000 at times That sounds bad, but the Ukrainian stuff is more accurate so they get more bang for their buck, plus the Russians are using some extremely old equipment that is not as accurate and has shorter range. I think the M777, which the Ukrainians love, starts having issues after 2,500 rounds - when the gun barrels wear out, muzzle velocity become an issue which means accuracy becomes an issue which means shells and powder are wasted.
  10. The Netflix series was not bad if you like Myers.
  11. I’m pretty biased right now because over the past few months I was party bedridden, and like I said, I’m working on a project for a friend, and so I’ve watched dozens of races from the 80s and early/mid 90s. Kenny is talking about fans of the 90s drifting away from NASCAR, and that it’s about the drivers/personalities. He’s got some good points, and it’s a good point about Chase Elliott as the last of the bloodlines (that’s successful) but NASCAR shares some blame (it’s been rehashed on Surly and even back on Shaggy). Kenny is glossing over the Car of Tomorrow, the championship changes, NASCAR letting the development pipeline get turbofucked for several years by the Kevin Harvicks and others who were racing Cup full time while dipping down and racing the lower levels and crowding out drivers who should have working their way up towards the Cup series, etc. and he’s ignoring things like Formula 1 being on the rise in the US (thanks to Netflix). I think his comments are tainted by him about to interview Kyle Busch as well (who said the fans left because the old school drivers are gone).
  12. Pentagon editor at Aviation Week dropped this little nugget that ties into plane spotters seeing more and more F-117s flying. While they were technically “retired” they were stored in a manner that was different from typical retired aircraft - they were kept in a semi-active state, able to be brought back to flight status quickly. I don’t think these are the NASA ones either.
  13. I doubt that’s happening (troop deployment) but if so, season 3 of this show is turning into season 2 of For All Mankind.
  14. Just as things are getting good. I like the France /Germany/Poland sub-plot of attacking Russia. This season has some potential.
  15. The Texas economy would be fantastic if they deported every single illegal immigrant.
  16. Well, deporting people is back on the plate for Texas law enforcement and probably “deputized” militias https://www.cnn.com/2024/03/19/politics/supreme-court-allows-texas-to-begin-enforcing-controversial-immigration-law/index.html
  17. Okay, it now makes sense as to why Ezekiel 23 ties into Daniel 12:14: Jesus asked Daniel one day, do you listen to REO Speedwagon? Daniel, confused, asked The Lord in return, what kind of man doesn’t listen to REO Speedwagon?
  18. Do any of them claim a sovereign citizen defense if they show up in court? Do their flags have gold fringe on them?
  19. Southern Baptist with 10 grandkid and great-grandkids. Everybody in that room was cringing hard.
