  1. What the crap is this?
  2. Family moved from LA to Lubbock? Ouch. The SWC was always a shit show. Growing up in Dallas in the 60's/70's (dad was Texas Ex) the SWC was the epicenter of college football for me. But it was always constant in-fighting and teams either cheating their asses off or turning in other schools. The original Big 12 was good, but would never work now because of TV contracts. It's fun to reminisce about the old days, but no way any team would want to leave the SEC or B1G because of the money they generate. Probably make sense for other schools to reorganize more geographically and build rivalries. Stanford, Cal in ACC? Ok. W Virginia in same conference as BYU? Makes no sense.
  3. Reviving this thread. Saw that Texas/Ark won week 13 ratings which surprised me. Beating Oregon/USC head-to-head. Cupcake week in SEC and 5.6M is a low number to win the week, but thought Oregon/USC would do better. Haven't seen the Texas/aggy ratings yet. SEC on ABC has been dominating ratings this year winning 12 straight weeks against FOX, CBS, NBC. https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/college-football-tv-ratings/
  4. At the disastrous game at BYU when Mack was still coach, the stadium only sold caffeine free drinks. But this was pre-2012. So maybe caffeinated cokes now? PARTY!!!
  5. And Athens, too. Loudest non-stop blasting by video board I've heard. Did not hear their band play once during game. (So that's pretty much our trifecta of our losses this year. 😠)
  6. The only positive in this is that Lane will troll the aggies every season since they're permanent rivals. After the way he departed Tennessee, none if this is surprising.
  7. Saw this leaving the stadium. When did they change? For decades it was always all orange after beating a and m.
  8. Oregon's only loss is to #2 Indiana. But yeah, their final two games against USC and Washington will say a lot.
  9. I'm guessing it's a twitter link. Since twitter is borked today, may be why not showing?
  10. Yes, was in Section 105. Lower level around 30 in Georgia section. Part of the bowl built into the ground. Loud as shit. I can understand that the third deck would not have the noise.
  11. Besides the game, great trip. Definitely should be a bucket list to attend in the future. The people were surprising nice. Besides the barking and a few jackasses, very fun. It's great having downtown across the street from campus. Dozens of bars to hit before game, then walk across campus to stadium. Some talented young ladies, and lots of obese dudes. As far as the game atmosphere, I've been to 40+ other stadiums and this was probably the loudest I have been to (2005 Ohio St second). The stadium is built into the ground and the stands hold all the noise. Everyone was standing and yelling the entire game. And my god, they thought they invented 'horns down. The video board was extremely obnoxious though. If you thought Memorial Stadium is loud, 2x for Georgia. The entire game blasting music. I seriously don't think the Georgia band played once during the game.
  12. Fun trip so far. The barking is weird though! Perfect weather.
  13. I've seen the Horns play at the following schools (outside of Texas): Stanford Colorado Penn State Syracuse Pitt Hawaii Notre Dame Virginia Missouri UCLA Rutgers Stanford North Carolina Ohio State Nebraska Kansas Wyoming Ole Miss BYU Cal USC Maryland Iowa St Arkansas Alabama Michigan Georgia (soon) I'll call CDC and ask him to schedule: Oregon Washington Wisconsin Utah LSU and Tennessee upcoming on SEC schedule. Will hit Florida next time (good year to miss).
  14. NIU lost to Buffalo, NC State, Toledo, Ball State, and Miami of Ohio. Best win besides ND? I guess the 2OT victory over Fresno State in the Famous Idaho Bowl? Not exactly an SEC schedule there.

    Brian Kelly to L$U

    yep
  16. And yet, ND lost to NIU last year and made it to the Championship game.
  17. SEC Roll Call has been so much better this year.
  18. Second time actually. But still trying to forget first time.
  19. Thanks for your post. Great info. Love the username, too.
  20. They don't. Aggy and Bama control their own destiny. Not Georgia
  21. I think Hawaii is still pissed at us for DeLoss cancelling the game about 25 years ago. The game was fun in 1995.
  22. And this iconic pic. I was at that game as a youngster.
  23. So not much to do in Athens? Most of the recs are for cities 2 hours away.
  24. May be good news. Google wants to put ABC/ESPN back on while negotiating. https://www.tomsguide.com/entertainment/streaming/youtube-tv-proposes-to-reinstate-abc-and-espn-as-negotiations-continue-heres-what-we-know
