  1. Okay, got the story from my friend that was one row below the fracas: "Here’s the story, some jackass from USC, who was on some kind of California drugs, created an issue about 3 rows up, not sure what it was about. The big dude, who eventually kicks his ass, grabbed the USC guy and was restraining him, actually being the peace maker at that point. UT Guy said he would let him go if he would sit down, the guy said ok then took a huge round house swing at UT Guy and missed….big mistake. That’s when the video picks it up." He also said he knows the guy/dad that was administering the beating and it was his first ever Texas game. Said he was never gonna miss another one!
  2. Wow, just saw this. A buddy of mine is in the background (row below) making little to no break-up effort, which makes me think the backstory may be correct (I hope it is, so we have a very justifiable beat down). However, my friend sits in Section 5 and this does look more like 3, as someone mentioned above. Will report back with any details I get. Need this kind of crowd energy for TCU as well.
  3. No, but I have to occasionally be in Athens for work, and this is the best place I've ever been to over there. If I recall correctly, the owner worked at Wink in Austin, but he and his wife opened this place in Athens because he's from there.
  4. Sorry, just saw this, but this place (Railway Cafe - Athens) is good: www.railwaycafe.net

Well, it is definitely very cool and the whole family loved it. Town is really nice - stunning views, great weather, dog-friendly (to put it mildly) and nice people. Food highlights were Sidework, There, 221 South Oak, Sheridan and Brown Dog. Lots of good lighter stuff at carts on Main St., but would pass on Gnar Tacos (should've known they'd f up tacos in Colo). Visited Baked in Telluride multiple times and there is an awesome cheese shop, Over the Moon, right by it too. We did the Imogene Pass jeep ride, paragliding, hiking (Bear Creek Trail was our favorite) and mountain biking. Plenty of stuff to do, even without going fishing or being able to raft (not enough water). Will absolutely go back. Was sitting on the porch one afternoon thinking it had gotten kind of hot....it was friggin 75.
  6. This second match is so much more fun to watch than those two tall dudes banging monster serves at each other.
  7. Raz needs to give the damn ball up. Next time will be the first.
  8. Crap. Not the same with RF out.
  9. Anderson cranking serves

Vail thread reminded me about this one. Great info above, but any other recs?
  13. Yep, it's hard to go wrong at Sucre. Same for Angelo Brocato. It's in my non-restaurant dessert spot top five for sure.
  14. Those Sucre macarons are like crack.
  15. Agreed on all of this. Peche is great...can't say it enough, get the whole fish. Upperline and Brigtsen's aren't quite as casual, but not super fancy either. Both damn good too. Alon Shaya had the well-documented falling out (lawsuit, settlement, etc.) with Besh. Besh still owns Shaya and have heard it's still good/the same. In May (I think), Shaya opened his new place, Saba, further up Magazine and have not yet been yet, but have heard it's good as well.
  16. Upperline is great and we always circle back to it. And yes, Shaya is damn good too...pita heaven. Looking forward to trying Alon Shaya's new one, Saba. Anyone been?
  17. Thanks, damn, this was worth reading. I loved Bourdain and was greatly entertained by his writing and shows. As for the TV, in addition to being a big fan of No Reservations/Parts Unknown, I also really enjoyed The Layover. I'm having a really hard time coming up with someone else that will be able to do anything even approaching the level of what he was doing.
  18. They damn sure hate us (and we properly hate them), but Fayetteville ain't a dump. It's really cool, especially compared to some of the regional out-and-out craptowns like College Station, Waco and Norman. Road trips to Ark would be fun as hell, especially while we pack their shit in their stadium.
