  1. Jesus Christ this is frustrating
  2. Yeah there were a bunch of plays in the first game where there were acres of space in the middle of the field with no defenders. I don’t think Georgia had any respect at all for the possibility of Quinn scrambling.
  3. Every academic counselor after the portal became a thing:
  4. On Gameday this morning they pinned Quinn’s first quarter fumble on Banks. Said he’s supposed to kick out and engage the blitzing CB. I’m surprised by that analysis. Banks was busy blocking a stunting DL. I had assumed it was ultimately Blue’s guy, but he was busy blocking the blitzing LB. Either way, like I said in the OP, Sark was really, really pissed about something after this play.
  5. Starting to stock up in case these tariffs actually happen (no CR). At least that’s what I told my wife lol.
  6. Yep, check out our very first drive in my longcat up above. Our first four plays all went for like 5-7 yards, I think - two quick first downs. Then we go horizontal for two plays and put ourselves in a 3rd and long.
  7. Ever since it happened, I've been puzzled by how a seemingly pretty mortal Georgia team came in to Austin and beat us by double digits. I wanted to refresh my memory on what happened, and understand what it means for our rematch tomorrow. So I bit the bullet and rewatched the entire thing, taking a lot of notes. What follows is a drive-by-drive recap and my takeaways. First off, here's the game on YouTube: 1st Half Drives: 2nd Half Drives: OK, so what did I learn from subjecting myself to this? I thought we were physically outmatched on the OL, but it wasn't as bad as I remembered. A lot of the pressure they got on Quinn was due to intelligent blitz schemes, or miscommunications on our part. They also did a good job of keeping tight coverage and limiting Quinn's options. That said, Quinn did not play well. His interception was a bad throw, and he got away with a couple others. He threw at covered receivers several times. He was responsible for the self-sack deep in our own end, which really hurt us. There were a couple of opportunities for him to scramble for yardage that he didn't take. Mykel Williams in particular played absolutely out of his mind. We had no answer for him. Special teams hurt us and really contributed to the field position difference. I think we got too cute at times with the horizontal passing and running game. I feel like we saw this some against aggy as well. Georgia's defense was too fast to be beaten like that. They capitalized on our turnovers, and we largely couldn't on theirs, with the exception of the 3rd quarter interception. A big reason is because almost all of the turnovers happened deep in our end of the field. Our D can play with them. They had one sustained drive (that admittedly came at a crucial time), and that's about it. I feel somewhat better about tomorrow after rewatching. A lot of the negative things that we did can and should be cleaned up. We need Quinn to take care of the ball, special teams to not be a net negative, and Sark to not get too reliant on the east-west game, and we'll be ok. I expect that going into a hostile environment at College Station last weekend and coming away with the W will help our guys not feel like the moment is too big for them. Hook 'em, fuck Georgia, ou sucks, let's fucking go.
  8. It’s a developmental OL class. Clearly they would have preferred to add Fasusi. I hated losing Mills but it’s not clear how hard the staff fought to keep him. We need to land some real motherfuckers next year. I’m a lot less concerned than I was before we saw the Trevor Goosby-shaped monster than Flood has been cooking up in his lab.
  9. Thanks, it's always fun to go back and read stuff like this
  10. I'm never buying pressure treated lumber again if Auburn steals the guy out from under us. Fuck them, my shit is going to ROT.
  11. The average demographic of this website is 40-50 year old dads. Let's maybe tap the brakes on calling out bitchtits.
  12. I dunno what it was like at Bama, but Sark doesn't seem enamored with freshman WR not named Ryan Wingo. I'm not personally expecting a whole lot from Lockett and Ffrench next year.
  13. I agree with you on Blue. He's fast, but the skillset that he has shown so far is a dime a dozen to the NFL. The questions on my mind are: Is there any possibility that he realizes that he is not currently a draft prospect and actually decides to stick around for another year? If so, would the coaches even be interested in that? Especially if it comes with a price tag and/or an expectation that there will be more carries coming his way. To me, it feels a little like a Keaontay Ingram situation where it might be best for everyone to have a mutual parting of ways. That's a shame. I assume he'd get drafted, but no higher than 5-7 round, IMO. He may fall into the category of "better college player than NFL prospect". We could really use him next year for all the reasons CTJ listed upthread, and to help with system continuity for Arch.
  14. At WR, does Golden count as a "portal" addition? I'm sure they'd love to have him back, and will spend significant effort and resources to retain him. Lots of moving parts at RB. I don't see why Blue would be back. I could see Gibson peacing out for a larger role somewhere. The sad fact is that we have no idea if Baxter will ever be the same or not. It will be interesting to see how that all plays out.
  15. Don't get ahead of yourself, sip. Everyone knows that Arch is going to hit the portal, too.
  16. Always wondered about him. Supposedly our staff absolutely loved him as a prospect.
  17. So that's a wrap for us today, right?
  18. Miami had extra time to recruit Wiley since they don’t have to prepare for a conference championship game or the playoffs.
  19. I guess college football teams are the hot new billionaire playthings? Can't wait until someone tries to relocate the Miami Hurricanes to Las Vegas unless he gets a new stadium deal.
  20. Raise your hand if you had "Larry Ellison's secret 33-year-old trophy wife becomes a major player in NIL" on your bingo card for 2024.
  21. And we thank her for that
  22. Often we're talking about life-changing money for these guys. "You can buy your momma a house" is an insanely powerful pitch. Sucks for us if a rival goes crazy for a player, but I'm never gonna question a guy for getting what he can get.
  23. We didn’t go head to head with OU much this cycle. Really only Fasusi who the $9.95ers now say probably won’t sign with OU. aggy and LSU both have a handful of guys we definitely wanted. For aggy, that’d be Kiotti, Kelshaun Johnson, Chace Sims, I think DJ Sanders, and maybe Cobey Sellers? For LSU, Kade Philips, Aidan Anding, and their DTs. Also probably Harlem Berry but that was forever ago.
