  1. When my daughter was little, she would always complain that she couldn't fall asleep at night. I would tell her if she couldn't fall asleep to talk to herself in bed or sing to herself. Now she's 14 and I occasionally hear her singing to herself in her room.
  2. I used to tell my daughter "We can do this the easy way, or the hard way." Generally when trying to do the bath thing. Until one time she just said, "Daddy, this time we're going to have to do it the hard way."
  3. Is that the bermuda triangle in blue there?
  4. after they throw it away, say "Can I have a receipt please?" Make them fish that shit out of the trash.
  5. You might try legal aid organizations. Depending on where you live: https://www.trla.org/ They cover about half of Texas. Similar groups cover other geographic areas. One caveat: they provide free legal assistance, if you qualify, and if they have the funding. With what is happening right now, they may be having some funding issues. Nothing to lose by giving them a call.
  6. Its all about having an enemy. The enemy in Reagan's time was the USSR, communism, etc. Then the USSR fell, we won! and a new enemy was needed. For a while drugs, were the enemy, but drugs were never defeated, so we moved on to... Enter liberalism, the new enemy. Putin and Russia are about as illiberal as it gets, so they are not only the enemy, they are allies, in this new war.
  7. The water canon didn't seem to do much in that clip.
  8. yet you speak with authority on what the novel promotes.

  11. When will nazi boi realize that he will be the scapegoat when the worm turns? Right now he's a useful tool (pun intended), but for how long?
  12. NPR had a story on this a few weeks ago. Their explanation, as best as I can recall, was basically: Also, since broilers are younger, they are replaced faster.
  13. I'm not sure it counts as an old fashioned hamburger stand, but this place was tasty last time I was in Alpine: https://visitalpinetx.com/places/bock-burger-takeaway/ Cash only, has like two tables outside. Very limited menu. Couple of burger choices, couple of sandwiches. Two or three types of beer (including shiner bock), hippy sodas. Hippy chips or salad as sides. Its just somebody's house. You order at the kitchen window. I think they are only open a few times a week. They make their own bread. Pretty pretty good.
  14. AITAH? What kind of stupid fucking question is that? Yes, you are all assholes. Next question.
  15. its the dingle cherry on the shit sundae
  16. I know ex boxers with less fucked up fingers. Also same for ex pro baseball players. Still wood.
  17. my favorite reply: Biden's puppeteers were using government hiring as a way to hide some of our awful economic numbers from taxpayers. In top of that, they were straight falsifying numbers. Then, they were planting mines that Trump would have to deal with by doing things like hiring unnecessary people to saddle Trump. It isn't sad that those people are losing jobs. They never should have been given jobs. Biden's puppeteers caused the issue. Trump is solving it. This is why, no matter how fat the leopoards get, nothing will change.
  18. Watched Logan the other night during a bout of insomnia. Bad, so bad.
  19. Where's the video? Also, most punchable faces list has a new entry.
  20. wettest ever, in terms of water.
  21. In Texas, charter schools are technically public schools. They don't charge tuition. Their "charter" exempts them from some state rules (depends on their charter), with the expectation that they will outperform traditional public schools. Their charter is supposed to get revoked if they don't do that. I wonder how many charter schools in Texas have had their charters revoked? Charter schools in Texas have an abysmal record: https://www.texasaft.org/policy/funding/doomed-to-fail-new-report-shows-how-charter-school-churn-harms-students-they-purported-to-help/#:~:text=Over the past decade%2C Texas,state%2C many of them abruptly. Not sure how many are shut down by the state. But 30% fail on their own for various reasons.
