  1. …is this when we bring up RED ZONE EFFICIENCY? Or are we supposed to do that on another thread?
  2. Two groomers vs the greatest band ever… 🤔
  3. Only 11 days after this post… Messi & Friends had had enough. Cincinnati sign USMNT defender Yedlin from Inter Miami FC Cincinnati announced the signing of Inter Miami defender DeAndre Yedlin for $172,799 in General Allocation Money on Monday. Sources had confirmed the transfer to ESPN's Jeff Carlisle on Sunday. "We're excited to welcome DeAndre and his family to Cincinnati," Cincinnati GM Chris Albright said. "He is a natural leader who will add valuable experience and quality to our group. We are confident he will be a great fit for us on and off the field, and we look forward to him joining us." Inter Miami said in a news release that the move gave the club roster flexibility. "DeAndre has been a leader for us on and off the field, and we're very thankful for everything he has done for Inter Miami. I've known him since his academy days in Seattle, and have been proud to see his success here, including helping the team lift its first trophy," Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said. "This trade gives us the flexibility to continue building our roster. Our ambitions remain high and we will look to use the space created by this move to improve our squad as we aim to compete for titles." Yedlin, who played for the United States men's national team as recently as last year, will take over at right wing-back in Cincinnati manager Pat Noonan's system. The position needed reinforcing following the offseason departure of Santiago Arias. For Miami, the move gives the Herons increased salary budget flexibility, given that Yedlin's cap hit was $683,000. In terms of who will replace Yedlin in Miami's lineup, Julian Gressel has played right-back in the past. Gressel has performed well in the center of Miami's midfield, assisting on two goals so far this season, but new acquisition Federico Redondo is expected to get his U.S. work visa this week, and he is among the options to play in midfield. The trade also gives Miami flexibility to acquire an additional player should that be deemed necessary. Inter Miami have been linked with Houston Dynamo defender Franco Escobar. Yedlin should do plenty to bolster Cincinnati's defense given his breadth of experience. He broke in with the Seattle Sounders in 2013. The defender went on to play two seasons in Seattle before heading to Europe, first with Tottenham Hotspur and later with Sunderland, Newcastle United and Galatasaray. He joined up with Inter Miami prior to the 2022 season. All told, Yedlin has made 338 league and cup appearances at the professional level, scoring seven goals. At the international level, Yedlin has made 81 appearances with the U.S. and was part of the 2014 and 2022 World Cup rosters. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/39652382/cincinnati-sign-usmnt-defender-yedlin-inter-miami I’m thinking that if you want to play in Miami, it would behoove you to speak Spanish… and not to make pregame speeches.
  4. Paramount+ & ESPNDP Nice assist by the Colombian to head the ball to the American girl for the shot. The penalty was about one to two inches from being a shoulder-to-shoulder perfect play by the Colombiana, but it was enough from behind that they didn’t complain too much and the ref will probably live to see the summer.
  5. When I saw that he was born in Florida, went to high school in Florida, and went to Alabama for college, I did not add “Texas” to his bio. Apparently no one but you has either. Pedantic > Idiot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas_Turner
  6. This is why the Cowboys are saying “Goodbye” to Tyron Smith. Did any of the players stay in Austin and train? Usually the players go to specialty training centers for a month or two to train specifically for the combine.
  7. According to the NFL Network reporter lady on the field at the combine: ”Dallas Turner was so athletic. The outside linebacker out of Texas was so impressive.” She didn’t really bathe herself in glory in her closing segment.
  8. I’m eagerly awaiting posts complaining about Longhorns doing quite well at the combine.

    RIP Mort

Doing stuff that you love to do until the last year of your life is pretty nice. Death sucks, but having done what you wanted to in life makes it more palatable. [pouring one out for my Morty 🍺💨]
  10. As soon as the shovel hits the dirt, you’ve hit the earth’s crust. Reminds me of my first couple of weeks at UT hearing a 5th year senior say- “You're going to turn your way of thinking around 365 degrees.” …that was when I knew that I had chosen poorly.
  11. I found this comment below the above video rather amusing.

    USMNT 2024

The Guendouzi card was just ridiculously horrible refereeing brought in by Pulisic’s CONCACAF abilities Pulisic obviously deserved a yellow from continually pulling the guy’s arm, but then he gets in front of Guendouzi and then slams on the brakes so that Guendouzi has to put his arms out in front of himself to protect from crashing into Pulisic. The contact easily allows Pulisic to flail to the ground, but that should have been a yellow on Pulisic only. Meanwhile the moronic color announcer that bounces from broadcasting company to broadcasting company working the Serie A for whomever owns the rights that season is asking “What is he doing?” about Guendouzi. Answer: He’s basically protecting himself after being cutoff. 👏👏👏👏 Great shithousery by the Italian-Croatian-American from Hershey, PA.
  13. If there were a 2nd half at the combine, we might see the brakes come out.
  14. Tell me you wear reading glasses without telling me you wear reading glasses. 2nd guy to him was the star QB of his recruiting class who he was likely in a text group with for half a year or more, but who he never played for. Those two apparently are still boys/ brothers/ bros/ whatever the latest slang is for close friends. I didn’t realize that Verne Troyer ever called boxing matches. (Or is this professional wrestling?… that would make more sense.) R.I.P. Verne
  15. Just listened to the “Coffee & Football” podcast a couple of hours ago and Gerry was thinking that Sanders would love to run a 4.7 flat, but he was guessing something around 4.74. No one saw “4.69” coming.
  16. Are people supposed to have a clue as to what the hell “a Mac Davis song” is supposed to mean. I feel like Mac Davis had a head of black curly hair… oh, and he was white. That’s probably more Mac Davis awareness than half of Surly. Anyway, the MadMen quote sounds about right, though I never watched that show because I was out of the country. (I did sit across from Hamm at a wedding reception in Nantucket in 2003, but didn’t know it until about 8 years later when I found out that he was Jennifer Westfeldt’s longtime boyfriend. I didn’t really notice a thing about him other than a guy in a suit was to her side… …which kind of made him like Texas Tech.)
  17. I watched this several times last year when I thought that I would have enough extra time to drive through San Diego on my way to Pasadena (coming from Dallas). Whatever the big online company based in San Diego (or ______ City) said that if they didn’t have a guitar that I wanted to see in the store, they could grab one out of the warehouse next door. Didn’t have an extra day to go through San Diego at a normal time of day, so didn’t get to check it out. Your review was nice to read.
  18. 🤯 Has Ford run yet? He apparently did NOT RUN. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2024-nfl-combine-results-linebacker-measurements-40-yard-dash-times-as-top-prospects-run-blazing-fast-times/amp/ Also, he will drop due to his short arms (He must have gained weight in the offseason. 🤔)

    USMNT 2024

Pretty much NO ONE wanted him to go to Nottingham. It’s heartwarming to see that EVERYONE was right. POSITIVE: The loan is only for 2 1/2 more months. NEGATIVE: He added another year on to his Dortmund contract. (IDIOT!) PS- This Brazil squad is the LEAST “star-studded” since before Pelé was on the squad.
  20. I think that next year’s team will be better than. This year’s team, but Disu will be sorely missed.
