  1. I’m an old man now. Ain’t much time left, but there are three things that made life worth living. First, hitting your first home run. A life changer for sure. It makes a young boy feel like a king as he rounds the bases, especially third and he sees home plate for the first time. Only after does the boy realize how awkward he did it because he never thought about what to do after hitting the home run. Second is bringing in a large game fish. It don’t have to be Marlin, just big and hard to get in the boat. Something primordial satisfying about beating such a wonderful animal in their own environment. And lastly, and to the point of this thread. The perfectly hit long iron. Preferably in the 180 to 200 yard range. A swing where you can’t quite remember how you pulled it off afterwards. A swing where you stayed within yourself and were able to coordinate your body to release the club head at the perfect time. To catch it dead in the screws as they say. The feeling of how effortlessly such a perfect swing produces not only a perfect flight of the ball. But the trance you fall into watching it track towards the target. Then seeing confirmation when it hits the green bounces once, maybe twice and checks like it had Benbo brakes stopping but a few feet from the flag. Very few of us hit such shots like that frequently, and that is what makes those shots, as well as the game of golf super special.
  2. Bushwood country club. Tell em Ham sent you. And grab a hat in the pro shop. It’ll look good on you.
  3. Sadly every fucking time this question is asked, regardless of by whom. Buddy gets left off. It is an indictment of those who simply throw a popular name out, which is probably a very good drummer. But not necessarily in the top 5 for ability or technique, and isn’t close to Buddy. Christ Dan Patrick’s constant raving that Bonham is the greatest is second to none, an opinion he based completely on how “hard” he hit the drums. That take is painful as fuck to hear over and over. And his little crew just nod in approval. I’ve called into the show twice to remind him that he is confusing the fact that Bomham was just one (of a number of drummers) who had the resources to mic each and every part of their kit in those early years. A practice that would become commonplace after 77. So yeah Dan it was fucking loud.
  4. Fuck it, lock this thread. Posting that shit off of Twitter on here just makes it worse. If something from a legitimate news source addresses it then fine start a new thread supported by facts. But not to provide the raving cry of a lunatic more bandwidth.
  5. Am I incorrect that Twitter has a policy about this very thing? This stuff should be pulled as soon as a mod sees it.
  6. I don’t buy any of this. We don’t even know if the account is legitimate. But I’m going to be pretty fucking disappointed if some asshole asks Tom Herman about this in a public forum without giving him a heads up its coming. Man, that’s ratfucking 101. Make up a story on someone, then ask about it while cameras are on?
  7. That is why the crazy fucker is unhinged. He is toxic and no one will touch him. He burned through what cash they gave him to go away. And he is still a young guy with a fucked rep and nothing to fall back on.
  8. Deja vu? To soon?
  9. Why? Because this guy threw out accusations? Hell, why stop there if that’s the case. He should just accuse CDC of knowing something and hired Herman anyway. See? It makes no sense for Herman to even justify this bullshit with a response. I may go as far as Herman May have to lawyer up to shut this dumb ass down. Which would be very unfortunate if that is the direction this takes.
  10. Damn, $14 million to run a program into the ground.
  11. I don’t believe it has anything to do with our program. It is the rant of a sick man.
  12. Oh, it’s embarrassing, as it would be for anyone having their shit out there for public consumption even if already known. But, nothing more. One can only imagine his mental state. I would guess that if there is anyone out there who really cares for him they would intervene. As these are the actions of someone screaming for help. Who has lost all control of their lives. And is probably living a very unhealthy lifestyle.
  13. Sucks when you run out of Percocet.
  14. C’mon, that fucker don’t know shit or he would have already dropped it. Drowning men always try to take someone with them.
  15. Oh......this may get entertaining. I thought the guy was dead?
  16. Strangely Gary Rossington’s rhythm part to Sweet Home Alabama. Though simply in theory, extremely difficult to get exactly right. Word is Ed King wouldn’t even let it be filmed when they produced the latest Documentary on Skynyrd. When he told His version of the songs birth, he quickly strums Gary’s part off camera before dropping his own iconical opening lick.
  17. Add Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain to that list, and we have a lot in common. And I’m an odd sort as I prefer Hazel’s work on lead over Hampton’s.
  18. What portion of the market are they exactly aiming at? With a price point of $1300, it isn’t “affordable”, nor is it anything much to look at. Or at least nothing most of us haven’t already seen in some form or fashion. It is overall, a confusing marketing strategy.
  19. I tried to stay up and watch, but damn. You start with a breakfast of Pappy and my allowed two cigarettes around 11:00 am EST. Then push yourself through 12 hours of viewing, only to just make kick off for PAC at night. I’m the old’s just can’t do that anymore.
  20. Michigan State did it yesterday to flip the field. Apparently Dantonio’s thinking was he would rather give up the two and possession. Then give OSU the ball inside their 35 due to punting against the high winds. Though in this case they snapped it over the QB’s head into the front row. Which was kind of a WTF moment.
  21. If you are old enough to remember (1998) they (Purdue) were almost the sole voice of reason when the NCAA had legislation in place capping coaches salaries trying to prevent what would ultimately become an arms race. The NCAA legislation was subsequently overturned by a federal judge in Kansas City. As useless as the NCAA has become. They were smart enough to know what would happen if you didn’t cap it. The big would get far to big, the small would become irrelevant.
  22. You’re full of shit. The receiver was open. Cornelius short armed the throw to the back side. Had he thrown it out front we wouldn’t be having this fucking conversation couch jock.
  23. Have you actually played football? Seriously, no internet tough guy stuff. I’m just asking? Because conceptionally it is a viable strategy attempting to offset the advantage the offense currently possess in the Big 12 in terms of match ups. Especially when your defense is called on to defend over 80 offensive plays. Using ESPN stat set it shows on average a SEC college football team runs between 45 to 50 offensive plays per game. In the Big 12 that number goes up exponentially to over 70. As does the length of the games themselves due to the clock. In more simple terms by the time a Big12 team hits game 10, they have essentially played 15 games in total of a highly competitive nature. Including more drives in excess of 70 yards, and more then 40 first downs. inherently causing physical, psychological and physiological problems for the player. In comparison the SEC player has played far fewer plays, and has the luxury of facing a couple of teams that don’t throw more then 10 times over 20 yards down field. Reducing the amount of energy required to cover the receiver. This accumulative effort starts showing up in terms of arm tackles, missed assignments and a lot of standing around because of fatigue. So the three man front allows a DC to at least TRY to force the offensive player to expend the same amount of energy over the course of the game. Leading to poor routes, stopping short on blocks during run plays, and like their defensive counterparts, a lot of standing around. Hoping to get a stop late in the game, and allow their own offense to have possession at the most critical point of the game. And guess what? This is exactly what we seen over the last three weeks. Even the best of players get tired. And to read on some of these threads where some couch jock cherry picks a play or two where a defensive player wiffed, was out of position, or simply failed to give effort as a condemnation of said players skill level is sometimes totally off base. The damn guy was simply worn out playing a 5 hour game, over what amounts to a 15 game season. And still has games left.
