  1. I know, I know, it's only Day 1 but Max is making mincemeat of the field... Again. And judging by the comments, there are definitely a lot of full racing laps happening. Ominous signs of a repeat of 2023.
  2. There are services that will refurb the strap and get rid of the slack. I think it ends up slightly cheaper and you get to keep the original.
  3. Don't be a dolt. The signing of scorecards is a pointless exercise on tour. No one is trying to cheat by turning in an incorrect card - they'd never get away with it. I get why it's needed elsewhere.
  4. Some of the rules in this game are just stupid.
  5. They've already expelled one. They have no problem eating their own and this one causes headaches for the GOP.
  6. I think there are plenty of McCarthy loyalists who are still pissed at how things went down that are chomping at the bit to knock a few foreheads off this guy. If they did it to a cross dresser, they can do it to a backstabbing 6 head.
  7. I think that's the beauty of that hole - hitting at the hole is a bad shot. I can almost guarantee Tiger did not intend that line and he knew what was coming. If you want to go for that green, you have to hit a cut and enter from the left. It takes an inch perfect shot to have a putt at eagle which is how a short par 4 should be. I think 10 is one of my favorite holes, at least from a spectator's standpoint.
  8. Spieth and Pitter Patter are putting on a putting show. Fun to watch.
  9. You're cherry picking parts of my post now. Read the last paragraph. Pick your stat. The Niners D regressed almost down the board. (Edit: went and actually looked, passing D was slightly better, run D way worse, overall worse... again, with better players this year). And if you still think PPG is a better determination of defensive effectiveness than advanced stats like EPA, then you don't understand stats. PPG is also a measure of your opponents offensive effectiveness. EPA at least attempts to adjust for that to isolate the defense. Sorry it's too "nerdy" for you to wrap your head around.
  10. Advanced metrics are far better, such as EPA if we're on the PPG train of thought (would hope that was obvious). #1 to #12 YoY in EPA. Pedestrian especially given talent. I'm guessing in most every stat, the 49ers regressed on D and that's with more talent on the roster YoY.
  11. Too lazy to look it up but didn't something similar happen before either the snow storm or treemagedon?
  12. If you're just going to cherry pick misleading stats and ignore the rest, then this is going to be pointless discussion.
  13. It's fine but for the players he has, it's pedestrian especially compared to 2022. And most of the slip was on the running side of the ball, something an offensive minded head coach is going to go nuts over. I watched every game intently (Niners fan) - he rarely stunted, rarely blitzed, and was soft against the run. He ran a bend but don't break D. That's not going to fly with any offensive minded HC.
  14. He wasn't fired for the Super Bowl. He was fired for the previous 4 months of poor play for the level of player he had available.
  15. Yes, the 49ers D played great during the Super Bowl. Wilks wasn't fired for the Super Bowl. He was fired because he inherited a better personnel package than last year and the defense regressed mightily, especially against the run. Mid way through the season, Wilks was told he had to get out of the box and coach on the sideline, likely so Shanahan could babysit his calls. The trust was never there.
  16. Robinson: These are not the passes you're looking for.
  17. You're gonna hate to hear this, but that backwards ass state to the north might just be more progressive than ours these days.
  18. For anyone else wondering that hasn't seen that watch before, this is how you tell the time with it (it's actually quite clever and efficient):
  19. I don't really care what the cars look like, just give me something remotely competitive 1-4 instead of 2-5. And given how the reveals have gone, I'd say it's a 0.5% chance the Silver Arrows are silver this year. Maybe purple.
  20. Troll on, brudda. Troll on.
  21. No golfer on the planet can handle yells or spikes of noise during their swing, not even Tiger (who had the most epic swing brake I've ever seen and he had to use it often because of this). Elite athlete has nothing to do with it. Unless you want to contend that these guys aren't "elite athletes".
  22. You're out of your element here. Might be time to sit this one out.
  23. Do you play golf? Have you attended a PGA event? Shooting a FT and swinging a club are on entirely different planes. You're calm and loose during the entire sequence of a FT. Golf swings are tense and torquey. FT have a significant margin for error. Golf swings do not. 1 degree of swing plane or face angle is the difference between flush and fat, green and OB, draw and hook... Getting startled, even slightly, is enough to cause that. You also get far more "startling" noises on a golf course because it's generally quiet compared to a basketball game. As stated above, constant noise isn't an issue. They're all teeing off with roars in the background, airplanes flying above. That's not the issue. The dumbass on their phone or just being a belligerent drunk are the issue.
  24. It's their livelihood and their caddie's livelihood. Not all of them are top 50 in the world, making dozens of cuts and getting paid each week. A lot of them are struggling to cover their costs, particularly caddies. So ya, I get it if they get pissed if some drunk moron in the desert thinks he's more clever than he actually is.
