  1. Most classic rock got so overplayed by radio stations -- and by me -- that I have a hard time listening to any of it anymore. Every so often I'll get a nostalgic interest in listening to Zeppelin or whatever, but after a half hour I'm like "Well I'm good for another five years." OTOH, it's interesting to me that music I hated as a teenager I actually often like now, probably for that same nostalgic reason but also that I haven't listened to them 10,000 times already. Also, IDGAF but I am taking my wife to see Journey, Def Leppard and Cheap Trick this summer, and we are going to get drunk and enjoy the hell out of it, and then we'll go home and fuck each other like animals, so kudos to those bands for that.
  2. I'll stop saying "Howdy" when they stop wearing jerseys and uniforms that say "Texas Aggies." Always brings the laughs. Thanks.
  3. I think I am the only one here who doesn't understand these rankings.
  4. Goddamn! Hell yes!!
  5. This is always the guy sitting next to me on an airplane
  6. It's not the greatest or best team, it's the most influential. Trying to figure out why that team was chosen for that, but can't access the article.
  7. I'm always relieved watching these videos that guns aren't pulled out. At this point in America I just assume somebody's going to get shot in these big crowd fight situations.
  8. Kinda wish he had called us green blooded halfbreeds, but to each his own.
  9. That attorney was high af.
  10. Pitbull will be fantastic.
  11. This is up there with the "Brooks was here, so was Red" response as far as all-time greats go. Bravo sir. Simply incredible.
  12. out of high school, you say?
  13. Plenty of great bike stories on here lately. Bravo. I will change it up and just ask this: why would a group of 14 year old boys drive a fully functioning go-kart through the woods, rigged up to jump the carbeurator to a top speed that the gas pedal couldn't hit, attempting to navigate through a suicide gauntlet of massive rocks chunked at them by their friends? Answer: because they were a group of 14 year old boys.
  14. San Antonio is a fucking great destination city for a game or a concert.
  15. Especially when the other guy lobbed a weak air punch in his direction. Fucking psychopath.
  16. A few metal examples, though there are probably thousands. Anthrax paying tribute to Ronnie James Dio and Dimebag: Zakk Wylde's tribute to Dimebag: Pantera referencing Sabbath and Slayer: Dee Snider referencing pretty much everyone, since every lyric in the chorus is a different metal title: Public Enemy shouting out Anthrax and a bunch of other musicians
  17. Doesn't really matter who was in the right or wrong there. The reality is that car beats person, every time.
  18. McCartney's Flaming Pie put an end to a string of really insipid work through the 80s. Some would argue Flowers in the Dirt was the return to Macca form, but I don't think it holds up as well. McCartney has essentially been on a non-stop run since Flaming Pie of really good, thoughtful, catchy and creative stuff. Sticking with ex-Beatles, George Harrison's Cloud 9 is a no-brainer. As far as Cheap Trick goes, I like the pick above but would list Bang, Zoom, Crazy, Hello as mine. That album sounds like vintage CT and kicks all kinds of ass. But Johnny Cash's American Recordings is the clear runaway winner.
  19. I have been saying for 8 years that the US presidential elections have been mirroring those in South Africa. Jacob Zuma was elected in SA just a few years before Trump and was a thuggish, corrupt, greedy SOB who used political capital and appealed to the uneducated masses. He tried to overthrow a re-election loss. He had supporters riot and loot. He was indicted on several serious charges and was booted out of office. Now (as of today, this minute) SA election returns show that his previous party (the ANC) will no longer have a majority -- unthinkable just a few years ago, given that it's the party of Mandela and the main Black South African's party -- because Zuma broke off and created his own MAGA-like party. He's gotten about 15% of the vote. It's destroyed the ANC majority, but has also splintered the Black South African vote tremendously. When Trump loses in November, I don't see how the same thing doesn't happen here. He'll have an idiotic MAGA party and the Republican Party will splinter. I can't wait.
  20. I realize that his base will excuse away the convictions and convince themselves that he’s the real victim. But when are they going to get tired of his constant insipid whining? Every time he opens his mouth he is complaining and crying about being wronged. It’s insufferable. Fucking whiny snowflake.
