  1. I think January 6th probably belongs on this list.
  2. @Sgt Hulk Leoda's Pie Company https://www.leodas.com/
  3. Eat a cheeseburger or three.
  4. So, it is your position that prior generations of "The West" has never dealt with inflation or immigration prior to the current era? That's a take. Also, I'm certain that the OP is NOT a boomer. You probably have him on liberal though. ha ha
  5. What is the BS childish response? The student's response to the content? The President asking if student wants the professor fired? The Student saying "yes" I want her fired? The school's reversal of its initial response and ultimately deciding to fire the professor, the dept head and the dean?
  6. wtf are you talking about it is barely an hour away from Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and Waterloo. For real though, I know nothing about Grinnell. What is the draw vs. other small liberal arts colleges that are in less remote locales?
  7. I'm still a bit confused on the "facts" of this story. 1. Student films professor in class. 2. Student meets with school President who says, "what do you want me to do fire her? That ain't happening!! [correct response in my opinion] 3. Student goes public or at least reaches out to her state rep 4 . School President decides / is compelled to not only fire the professor, but also the department head and the Dean. 5. Justification for all of the firings is that they are not following the course description / syllabus by including gender discussion when it had been purged over the Summer in an effort to comply with Exec Order. What a shitshow, terrible look for an institution of higher learning, but to be honest in a world where Ivy League joints are paying extortion payments to the neighborhood goons, I'm not sure we should expect principled stands to be the response in SEC outposts. SAD!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.
  8. The okie ruf-nek 2x4 "gun" is gold.
  9. I kept waiting for someone to go over (or at least be in jeopardy of going over) that little glass wall.
  10. Early season polls don't matter in this era of 12 team playoff. They serve as fodder for the media and fans to discuss / debate. Week 1 Auburn crushed Baylor Week 2 Baylor beat SMU Would anyone in this thread be willing to predict how those 3 teams will finish the season / are ranked at the end of the season if you stood to lose a material amount of $$ for being wrong? I think it is fairly safe to predict that FSU will be good this year and that is about all I am willing to stand up for at this point. (cue the 6 game FSU losing streak beginning this week)
  11. You must have mistaken us for a discriminating audience only interested in highly curated content. Spoiler it if you feel like it is too long, but by all means bring it on...
  12. I just did this, thank you @Anton Chigurh
  13. @sasquatch69 My jaw locked (essentially in an underbite) a couple of years ago one afternoon and hurt like hell. I took some OTC painkillers like you are talking about to no avail and when i finally went to sleep that night my muscles relaxed and my jaw went back to its normal position. The next time I went to the dentist for a cleaning I mentioned the incident and he wrote me a script for Carisoprodol 350mg (muscle relaxer) to have in case something like that happened again. I haven't ever had it happen again but I have the pills just in case. https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/carisoprodol-oral-route/description/drg-20071941 Might not apply in your situation, but it can't hurt to check with your dentist to see if they think a muscle relaxer might help while you are getting the mouthguard made. Good luck!!
  14. Keegan Bradley will be on with the Ticket in Dallas around 5:50 PM tonight (Wednesday)
  15. If you are talking about Peter ( I am the only Texas QB to ever beat OU 4 years in a row, not to mention during a particularly dark period in Texas football history providing some of the only brightspots on a dreary landscape ) Gardere then I'll thank you to keep his name out of your mouth when referencing shitty Texas QBs. If you are referring to another Gardere we had at QB... by all means carry on.
  16. Almost correct. Moore Hall was added to Hill Hall in 1955. Hill Hall was built in 1939 and housed athletes (potentially including Tom Landry) https://livingnewdeal.org/sites/university-texas-austin-hill-hall-austin-tx/ University of Texas at Austin: Hill Hall – Austin TX City: Austin, TX Site Type: Education and Health, Colleges and Universities New Deal Agencies: Public Works Funding, Public Works Administration (PWA) Completed: 1939 Designer: Paul Philippe Cret Beginning in 1939, the university housed its athletes in Hill Hall. The five story building (including basement) is of Spanish Renaissance style with red roof and tan bricks. The Public Works Administration provided a grant of $46,636 and a loan of $57,000 to cover the cost of construction. When originally opened the building housed 84 men. Hill Hall is named for Dr. Homer Barksdale Hill of Austin who volunteered to treat UT athletes from 1893 until his death on July 18, 1923. As its athletic programs grew, the university added Moore Hall in 1955, just south of Hill Hall and connected to it, to house additional male athletes. Now known as Moore-Hill Residence Hall, it is open to the entire student body. The hall went coed in 2005.
  17. I was in Moore Hill (3rd floor in the back section) Fall 1989-Spring 1990. Rumor had it that the room across the hall from me had been Tom Landry's back in the day. What about you gentlemen? As for decor, I had a poster of a scene similar to this and this, but a red one
  18. watching his team as No. 1 taking on No. 2 but not on a network he ( nor do many ) approves of… TwiceHorn
  19. Does this mean they are taking away our November game against the Aggies?
  20. Scene reminds me of this
  21. Regarding format, I can see the merit to having some benefit for season-long performance but it also seems like how people are playing during the "playoffs" should matter, especially the lower you are in the season-long rankings. I think something like this, top 15 in final FedEx points standings are safe regardless of finish in the "semi-final" BMW Championship and go through to the Final. 16+ in the final points standings need to have finished in the top 30 during the BMW to advance to the final. At some point the playoff needs to be about how you're doing right now, not just how much you were favored coming into the contest. I know the Championship has moved to low gross wins it, but I wish they would take a step toward that in the semi-final.
