  1. Almost correct. Moore Hall was added to Hill Hall in 1955. Hill Hall was built in 1939 and housed athletes (potentially including Tom Landry) https://livingnewdeal.org/sites/university-texas-austin-hill-hall-austin-tx/ University of Texas at Austin: Hill Hall – Austin TX City: Austin, TX Site Type: Education and Health, Colleges and Universities New Deal Agencies: Public Works Funding, Public Works Administration (PWA) Completed: 1939 Designer: Paul Philippe Cret Beginning in 1939, the university housed its athletes in Hill Hall. The five story building (including basement) is of Spanish Renaissance style with red roof and tan bricks. The Public Works Administration provided a grant of $46,636 and a loan of $57,000 to cover the cost of construction. When originally opened the building housed 84 men. Hill Hall is named for Dr. Homer Barksdale Hill of Austin who volunteered to treat UT athletes from 1893 until his death on July 18, 1923. As its athletic programs grew, the university added Moore Hall in 1955, just south of Hill Hall and connected to it, to house additional male athletes. Now known as Moore-Hill Residence Hall, it is open to the entire student body. The hall went coed in 2005.
  2. I was in Moore Hill (3rd floor in the back section) Fall 1989-Spring 1990. Rumor had it that the room across the hall from me had been Tom Landry's back in the day. What about you gentlemen? As for decor, I had a poster of a scene similar to this and this, but a red one
  3. watching his team as No. 1 taking on No. 2 but not on a network he ( nor do many ) approves of… TwiceHorn
  4. Does this mean they are taking away our November game against the Aggies?
  5. Scene reminds me of this
  6. Regarding format, I can see the merit to having some benefit for season-long performance but it also seems like how people are playing during the "playoffs" should matter, especially the lower you are in the season-long rankings. I think something like this, top 15 in final FedEx points standings are safe regardless of finish in the "semi-final" BMW Championship and go through to the Final. 16+ in the final points standings need to have finished in the top 30 during the BMW to advance to the final. At some point the playoff needs to be about how you're doing right now, not just how much you were favored coming into the contest. I know the Championship has moved to low gross wins it, but I wish they would take a step toward that in the semi-final.
  7. video from Bozo's most recent practice session...
  8. I think you need to share the location of your "quiet spot" with the class.
  9. Maybe she was really canvassing for "talent" for her follow-up project on the swinger scene in Austin and immediately sized you up as NOT screen worthy.
  10. Ok thanks. I wish they would do away with the points once the playoff begins. Just let the top 50 and 30 advance from week to week. It's a little like saying that the lower seed in the NFL playoffs has to cover the spread to advance, or the lower seed in the baseball playoffs has to can't lose more than one game in a series to advance. At some points you let the teams / players who advance to the playoffs play the game / tournament and then let the results of that competition decide who wins the trophy / pile of money.
  11. Just so I'm clear, the top 70 based on cumulative points get in "playoff" Then, top 50 finishers in 1st event (cumulative points NO LONGER MATTER) move to BMW then, top 30 finishers at BMW (cumulative points NO LONGER MATTER) move to Tour Championship then, low gross score (no starting strokes "headstart") at Tour Championship wins it along with the big pile of money for being the "FedEx Cup champion". Is that correct?
  12. Carl Ceder. Longhorn, good guy. He's a friend of mine so I can let him know you're calling if you DM me your info and actually plan to reach out to him. practices in all the metroplex counties https://www.carlcederlaw.com/index.php/
  13. A few years back, my son (around 21 at the time) and some buddies road tripped to Zion National Park by way of Balmorhea State Park and the Grand Canyon over like 4 or 5 day period. I think they had a place to sleep for maybe 2 nights total. Driving, swimming, hiking essentially non-stop. I was nervous, but all was fine and he looks at it as a great memory and cool experience with friends. I'd have loved it when I was his age, but sounds miserable to my 50+ year old self. What kind of vehicle are they in? 6 adults and 2 dogs may get a little tight. I'm sure your son will have a blast.
  14. The guy over Scottie's shoulder graduated from high school with my daughter. Played a little college golf and then quit to become an "influencer". Had a little bit of a run, but hasn't posted anything in a year or so. I know he was doing some stuff with Bryson, so maybe he has just become more behind the scenes.
  15. Do you have a connect with the lifetime passes or do you just buy them?
  16. What do this mean? I've read it several times and each time I think I might begin to understand, something makes me confused again.
  17. Which of those two activities do the women tend to be more interested in?
  18. Ole Miss is a major player in that arena also.. I think they are attempting to address it with the rule about injuries once a ball is spotted for play that "injuries" after that are a charged timeout against the defense. It will be curious to see how they enforce that and how many "injuries" start to occur just before the ball is spotted.
  19. Mackinac Island in Michigan or Sea Island in Georgia
  20. Terrible news. Such a beautiful spot.
  21. Just buy anything what will fit (25x20x1) and stick it in there for a day or two while the correct one arrives. It won't catch everything but will be better than nothing or leaving the old dirty one in place.
  22. I'm not sure that people are "surprised" that it floods, I think it is just a "surprise" when "the big one / 100 year flood / etc." actually happens. We all have become accustomed to the tornado warning / flash flood warning and then nothing of significance happens, or at least it doesn't impact our little universe. Unfortunately, every once in a while the "worst case" happens. We all know it is possible, but we get lulled to complacency and then hit in the face with a shovel when it happens. The reaction probably looks alot like surprise. Often times something like this will lead to an "overreaction" (some would say appropriate response) to the next threat ... Think the Houston evacuation clusterfuck for Hurricane Rita after Katrina destroyed New Orleans. Then when "the worst" doesn't happen we go back to the ignore / assume things will be ok part of the cycle until Hurricane Harvey hits at which point the vigilance returns. Wash, rinse, repeat. Hopefully at least some progress will be made in each cycle to make the next "worst case" event less deadly / traumatic. As an aside, I'll bet the Taco Bell in Belton could tell some stories.
